Chapter 381: Meeting Daddy...
After picking up Percival, Azmond disappeared from his spot and shot toward where the girls were before they dashed outside of the pocket dimension.
BZZZTT!!
The pocket dimension started to collapse after they left, as it began to vibrate and spasm before subsequently collapsing in on itself.
BZZTTtt
The pocket dimension below the castle and even the castle itself were sucked into a miniature black hole-like phenomenon.
A few nanoseconds passed as the phenomenon and everything within a thousand-mile radius disappeared.
"..."
Azmond and the rest looked at the sight of a miniature black hole vaporizing everything within an instant, as they were sure that they'd die if they were on the receiving end.
However, their awe was soon interrupted by a certain catkin girl called Calista, as she flew toward her father.
"...Sniffle Sniffle I'm glad you're okay" She mumbled.
Percival looked toward this tearful sight as he replied, "It's okay, baby girl. Daddy is here now~"
He stretched out his arms, expecting the girl to come flying into his arms.
However, life was often quite disappointing
"Azmond!" Calista sniffled as she fell into his warm embrace.
"It's okay, Calista; don't worry, I won't be leaving you anytime soon~" Azmond spoke with an affectionate tone.
However, outside of his 'faade', his word phrasings and mannerisms indicated that he was poking fun at the stunned man beside him.
Percival was speechless.
He still had his arms stretched out, and if anyone were looking at him right now, then they'd surely feel pity for the middle-aged man.
He slowly turned his neck in the direction of Calista before he asked, "What about daddy?"
Calista snuggled her head out of Azmond's robes before she replied, "Uhn uhh"
That was all she said before her face disappeared from Percival's sight.
"..." He was beginning to think that the cage would feel a whole lot better right about now.
Azmond turned his snarky expression in his direction before he said, "It's okay, old dude. I'm sure that she will come around; just give it some time."
His words could be interpreted as friendly and comforting; however, when Percival saw the way he coddled his daughter right in front of him, he knew that he was just gloating.
But luckily for him, he had a daughter who would pay him some attention!
Clawdia phased right next to the floating Percival before she asked, "You're not dead?"
*Spurt!*
He practically died right then and there, as he didn't know how much more he could take from his daughter's before he fell over and never got back up!
"Do-Don't you have anything else you want to say to your daddy?" Percival despondently mumbled.
"... Don't call yourself 'daddy'; it's creepy. And no, I don't have anything else to say," she replied.
*Spurt! Spurt!*
He took two hits back-to-back! His health was dangling between 0 and 1 right now!
"..." Azmond observed the predicament that Percival found himself in, as he felt kind of bad for the old dude.
*Sigh* He sighed a little before he brought Calista over to the husk of a figure being dealt critical damage by Clawdia.
"Here, make up with your daughter's, old dude," Azmond said as he put Calista in his arms.
"???" "???"
Both Percival and Calista were surprised by this sudden action, but when they looked at each other and saw the hidden emotions lying deep within their eyes, the aura around them instantly became emotional.
...
A few minutes passed by as Calista and her father talked about a variety of different things.
And somewhere in the middle of the conversation, Clawdia had joined in, as she filled in the gaps in details that Calista had passed over during the brief recap she retold.
Calista was still a little vexed over the fact that he had left her for so long, but she eventually got over it when she listened to the apologetic tone that her father spoke to her in.
In her mind, it seemed like he had been deeply thinking about what he had to do to ensure their safety the entire time he was away.
Which ultimately led to her feeling bad about ignoring him earlier...
She just wanted to get her little payback, and it was the same way for Clawdia, but it didn't feel as good as they thought it would
And when they felt the remorse leak out of every word that their father spoke, that regret only deepened.
"... I'm sorry Father" Calista mumbled with bubbly eyes.
It looked like tears would start coming down if she didn't hear an answer from her father soon.
"!!" Percival immediately panicked when he saw those teary eyes of hers, and he replied, "I-It's really fine, Calista. Don't even mention it! You know your old man! It would take a lot more than that to bring my spirits down!"
His voice came out in a reassuring tone; however, half of the things he said were lies...
But regardless of his past suicidal thoughts, he looked into Calista's beautiful eyes before he hugged her and whispered, "You don't need to worry; I will never leave your side again-"
"No" Calista interjected.
"Huh-?"
"You can't be beside me forever, for I will need to leave you and live with my mate" She added with a slight blush on her face.
"... Is that so?"
Percival's eyes darkened to insane degrees, as it seemed like his depression from earlier had morphed into an intense killing intent.
"And who might this 'mate' of yours be?" He asked with a 'friendly' smile.
"...You won't hurt him?" Calista questioned.
"...Why, of course not. I just wish to see this wonderful man that had ensnare- I mean, attracted my daughter's attention," he replied with twitching lips.
"Really?"
"Of course, my baby girl."
Calista thought it over for a second more before she stretched out her finger and said, "Mhmkay He's right there."
And the man she was pointing at just so happened to be the one getting barraged with punches from Clawdia.
It seemed like she was mad about something, but that was irrelevant for Percival.
"I see So it's him" He muttered with narrowed eyes.
"Stay here for a second, little Calista. I need to go and 'greet' this Azmond character," he said with a 'kind' look on his face.
"Kay" Calista replied.
She felt like she shouldn't have said something back there, but when she thought about how strong her 'mate' was, she knew that he'd be fine!
Probably
