Vol. 5 - Chapter 283 - The might of Rika's unique skill, ‹Twin Swallow Flip›!

Soon, we found an opening.

"‹Sword Attribute - Fire›! ‹Sonic Sword›!"

"‹Delta Stream›!"

"‹Divine Pillar›!"

"‹Quick Slash›!"

"Gyaaaaa!!"

"Hn, chance. ‹Vital Stab›!"

"Kyuus!?"

We pushed the ‹Electro-Fox› to knockdown status soon after we took our formation and began our barrage of attacks while it was focusing on weaving its attack toward Rika.

Karua followed with a ‹Vital Stab› in a heartbeat.

‹Vital Stab› comes with the high critical chance effect when the opponent is under knockdown status, or recovering from the delay that occurred after using a skill.

‹Vital Stab› did its work by causing a critical hit and pushing the ‹Electro-Charged Fox› into down status.

That was the chance for us.

"Nice one, Karua! Blast it out, everyone! ‹Brave Heart›! ‹Brave Sword›! ‹Lightning Sword›!"

"‹Scale Break›! ‹Starburst • Rain Edge›! ‹32 Star Stream› ‹Star Burst Tornado›!"

"‹Shining Sabre of the Sacred Light›! ‹Rise of the Sacred Tree›! ‹Light Blade›!"

"‹Long Thrust›! ‹Precision Thrust›! ‹Triple Shoot›! ‹Legion Charge›! ‹Long Thrust›!"

"There's still me, ‹Battle Focus›! ‹Shogun's Burst›! ‹Flame Slash›! ‹Ice Strike›!"

"Gyaaaaaaa!!"

We didn't miss our chance to take advantage of the boss' first down status and greeted it with our full firepower.

This sure does cause some serious damage. Looking at how the HP bar was gradually decreasing really uplifted my spirit.

Rika, who was assigned to garner ‹Electro-Fox›'s hatred, also joined in the end and followed with her fierce onslaught, looking like she wanted to end the boss right there.

The boss was, unfortunately, out of his down status not long after.

"Gggrrryaaaaaa!!!"

"It has entered Rage Mode! Everyone, retreat at once!"

Like usual, Intermediate dungeons boss entered rage mode when its HP was reduced to red zone which would last for 3 minutes and give a buff to its STR and AGI, increasing it by 1.5 times.

There's no telling when a mistake could be made, and the boss's powerful attack forced anyone to be out of commission, so the best way to deal with it was to take distance and study its pattern.

We just have to wait until everyone is accustomed to its speed, and then make our move. There was no need to act rashly when it was just a matter of time before the boss fell.

"Grrrr!"

"! Boss' about to release a large AoE attack! Put on the protection barrier, Lana! Ester, resist it with a defensive stance!"

"Got it, ‹Holy Protection Barrier›!"

The incoming AoE attack basically encompasses everyone with no chance to evade it.

We just have to endure this wave of attacks.

Lana immediately propped a barrier in front of herself at my instructions. ‹Holy Protection Barrier› was a defence magic effective against magic attack.

It has a long cooldown but conversely speaking, the defence magic was worth it value.

"‹Extreme Speed›! Barely on time."

Karua barely made her escape in the due time. As expected of the agility master ‹Starcat›.

The only one who had tough was Ester so I ordered her to resist. Meanwhile, Rika and I activated our respective defence skills at the same time as the boss released its AoE attack.

"GGGRRRAAAWWWRRR!!!"

"‹Defense›!"

"‹Clone›!"

Electro-Fox intensely shook its tail, and then released waves of lightning like my ‹Shine Lightning›. The only difference was that it was aimed at everyone.

Lightning struck us like the tsunami. It had a significant impact, in my opinion.

I wonder if the person on the receiving end of my ‹Shine Lightning› also felt the same. An out-of-place thought occurred to me.

I defended with my defence skill while Rika used an evade skill to shift the damage.

I quickly looked around once the attack was over to confirm the situation.

Rika was unharmed due to her skill. Lana and Karua also didn't receive damage under the protection barrier. That leaves behind Ester, who had to bear the brunt directly; she was 一一.

一一She was on the ground in her spot.

Paralysis icon was shining on her HP bar.

"Paralyse! Lana, ‹Refresh›!"

"‹Wish一一›"

"Gyaaaa!!"

However, the ‹Electro-Fox› was one step faster than Lana, as its target had shifted to Ester, who was down from abnormal status.

The worst is we don't even have Sierra, who could have used her ‹Absolute Charm Shield› skill.

"‹一一Refresh›!"

Lana's ‹Wish Refresh› enveloped Ester, curing her of her paralysis aliment, although the field boss was already on the move with its attack, and it was hard to tell if Ester would be able to dodge the attack as soon as she got up.

The ‹Electro-Fox› rapidly shrank its tail, and just as I wondered what it was, it rushed towards Ester while releasing lightning from behind. Don't tell me it's ‹Thunder Rocket Thrust›, a high-power charge skill! The lightning releasing from its tail was like the propulsion of a rocket. It was an immensely powerful move, and at the same time its ultimate move!

I didn't expect the field boss to use it at this point.

There wasn't much distance between Ester, who had just taken an attack, and the field boss. Not to say its AGI had been raised to 1.5 times of original in rage mode.

Ester rolled on the ground and tried to dodge, but Boss was faster than her unfortunately.

However, someone slipped in there to save the day.

"You have the nerve to ignore me, huh. Prepare for the consequences!"

It was Rika.

It seemed like she was able to make it in time since she was closer to Ester than me.

She propped her twin blades, her sharp as a knife gaze pointing at the field boss.

At this moment, she very much looked like a huntress 0n her hunt.

"Haaaaa! unique skill, ‹Twin Swallow Flip›!"

Crash, and what followed afterwards was a loud sound like the two behemoth crashing into each other along with the effect of Sakura petals dancing.

"Gaaaaaaaaaaah!!!?

Electro-Charge Fox's painful cries echoed.

That was Rika's counter-type unique skill, which can be unlocked at the 3rd level of ‹Warrior Princess› skill tree 一一‹Twin Swallow Flip›.

It being countertype skill make it a difficult skill but it was a trong skill if pulled at correct timing.

It was one heck of a ridiculous skill with effects like damage ignored by the opponent at succesfull parry, immense damage, a knockback effect, and above all, adding N% of the opponent's power to their own unique skill.

In other words, the field boss not only took the huge damage from Rika's counterattack, it also received the brunt of its own attack.

The knock-back effect caused it to bend backwards, with its front leg completely straight up and stiffened.

The field boss’ HP bar began to guzzle rapidly under the direct damage of its charged attack in rage mode, and soon it turned zero.

"Ga... Gya ........a....??"

Together with a befuddled cry as if it doesn't understand what just happened, it disappeared into the sea of its own effect.
