Chapter 74 Berserk

The fourth and final basement floor was separated into two halls. The halls were connected through a huge hallway. From an elevated position, one could clearly see the ancient gateway that was supposed to separate the two hallways. However, the ancient black gate was not closed. Lesser Demons kept pouring out of it, aiding the Lesser Demons in the first hall as Liam and the Natives hacked and slashed their way through the Lesser Demons that easily numbered more than a thousand.

The first hall was completely manmade and constructed to look similar to an arena. It was an underground arena that was the size of the Colosseum. It was circular-shaped with a large open space in the center. The walls and ceiling were made out of the same basalt that could be found everywhere in the underground tower. There were even a few rows of seating arrangements that doubled up as walls. The walls were further built into tiers, rising up around the perimeter of the arena.

Liam could clearly see the Lesser Demons that had been idling around in the seating area. They were now making their way to Liam and the Natives, or they were trying to at least. It would take them a while before the Lesser Demons at the seating arena would get the chance to fight them.

The lighting was dim but it was better than expected thanks to the Mist of Aracla. It was damp in the entire arena and the musty odor hung heavy in the air all over the fourth basement floor.

Blood, intestines, and body parts began to cover the floor of the arena that had once been void of even a speck of dirt.

Looking over to his left and right, Liam tried to create a perfect understanding of the fourth basement\'s infrastructure. He had already done so from an elevated position, which helped him a lot in understanding where he was and what was going on. However, seeing something from an elevated position was a tad bit different from standing on the ground while being surrounded by dozens of Lesser Demons that were trying to tear him apart.

The entire arena was filled with thunderous noises, quite literally. Meanwhile, Rex and Jennie stayed behind at the helix staircase. Jennie was currently holding more than ten potions in her arms, and trying to hand them one after another to Rex, who was already sweating profusely.

Liam looked at this with amusement. He understood that Rex\'s Soultrait was hard to control and that the backlash of using the Soultrait repetitively was not easy to get over. However, Liam couldn\'t really care about that, if he were to be honest. Rex had to go beyond his limit and endure some pain if he wanted everyone to survive.

He would be rewarded with a generous amount of Arcanium, whether he would kill the Lesser Demons with the explosion of his golden lightning bolts, or just injure them through the huge chain reaction that followed after the explosion. In the latter case, the electric currents would jump over and create a chemical reaction with the Arcane Power that hung in the air around the explosion.

The damage caused through the golden lightning bolts was tremendous, and it allowed everyone to face their opponents with much more ease. At least that was what they expected until they saw how Ludwig fought against a massive number of opponents.

It looked like he was in a state of Berserk, caused by the overutilization of Arcane Power. The bright green Miasma around him was forcefully pushed aside, replaced by an azure hue that was being naturally released from Ludwig. The tremendous amount of Arcane Power he unleashed was not something Liam could unleash even when he had been in possession of one Arcane Circle, let\'s forget about when he had no Arcane Circle.

Ludwig\'s fighting style had changed to adopt a brutal destructive fighting style that was focused on overpowering his opponents and tearing them apart.

Liam couldn\'t help but look over at Ludwig every now and then. He analyzed Ludwig as if he was one of the opponents he would have to defeat sooner or later, because that was exactly what would happen in the future. To Liam, it was apparent that he would have to fight Ludwig in the future. The moment they clashed even once, their relationship would go for a toss until it would lead to the inevitable.

Liam was already preparing for the worst, and was ready to kill Ludwig at any moment. At the same time, he focused on his own fight as well.

He understood that Ludwig had challenged him indirectly. Liam made no comment on the challenge but that didn\'t mean he would allow anyone to take away his prey.

He was at an advantage in terms of equipment, and understanding of his powers, and his combat experience was close to 18 years as well. He fought everything whether it was human, monster, devil, or demons with equal fervor. There were even a few members of other races whom he had fought head-on.

There was no way that a greenhorn was able to attain a higher fighting efficiency as he could reach!

Liam thought about making use of the huge network of corridors running around and beneath the underground arena, but he chose against it. The underground arena\'s atmosphere was filled with grandeur, ancient history, and mystery, all of which prevented Liam from fighting dirty to some extent, at least.

He sighed deeply, allowing the Arcane Power within the Blanchal Silk Gloves to circulate through his hands transformed into large Claws.

Since his Vitality stat had increased to [S], his claws seemed to have grown a little bit in size. He was not too sure how his Vitality was related to the length of his Claws because they had never grown in the past when he had been much stronger, but that was not the most important point right now.

What was of utmost importance was to slaughter his opponents, tear them apart with all his might and obliterate every single one of them!

Excitement surged up from the deepest parts of his heart and a wave of adrenaline rushed through his veins, flooding him as he burst forward.

The Arcane Kunai resonated with his emotions and will, and it swirled forward while spiraling at a terrific speed, turning into a razor-sharp drill that cuts through the eyes, necks, and hearts of the Lesser Demons that obstructed the Lesser Relic\'s way.
