Chapter 118 - Dragon's Banter
***********
CHAPTER 118
"I…" Xander was about speaking when he recalled the time that Jade licked his blood and his own dragon roared as well. He was now having conflicted thoughts on the issue a bit. "It has happened but I feel it is just our dragons lusting after…"
"You know you are wrong, Xander. You are treating this issue like this because you know from your heart of heart what it means. What both of you have discovered. You are like this because you think the dragons would revolt when they find out the truth."
"No one can revolt!" Xander yelled at them.
"Then what scares you about it all?" Sky and Jay asked at the same time.
"That it is just my silly feelings clouding my judgement and as a leader I cannot have that and same applies to both of you."
"Then I regret to inform you that I have found my mate."

Xander's eyes widened at the words Jay said but Sky wasn't at all surprised. If there was anything, he could tell from the behavior both of them had towards the girls.
It was similar when he found out himself and Jenny were mates and so also was theirs.
"I already marked her," Jay confessed without any apology.
"What!" This time around, even Sky was shocked.
"Yes. I marked her mine. I sealed the mate bond, Xander and if you bear me witness, Sky you can testify of what I am about to say. While we were about making love that was when it all started."
"What started/" Xander asked.
"Let him speak, Xan. Wait your turn," Sky cautioned him.
"I could feel her, like I was in her mind and she was in mine. I could feel every of her emotions and all I did to her. Everything was so surreal and blissful. It was confusing at first but then I later understood it. Before we did the deed, my natural form showcased itself a bit and my horns appeared."
"WHAT!"
Xander felt like he was going to collapse any time soon at what his ears were hearing his friend say.
"It wasn't my doing and she found out who I am and well, that you guys are dragons too."
That was it, Xander could no longer hold it in and was ready to punch Jay but Sky held him back.
"How could you not fight him and hold him down. How could you let a human know? Now if she knows meaning Quinn knows too."
"No, I made her promise me not to tell Quinn. She agreed that it would be best you told her yourself."
"I doubt that would happen." Xander refused to believe that. He did not want any wishful thinking only to find out later that it wasn't the case. Rather than let that happen, he planned on marrying Jade and throwing anything mate away from his head.
"It would, Xander. I believe that she is the one for you too. You have never been like this with any girl and you know it. Never have your dragon once roared when you are doing it with any girl, but now it did."
"I did not do anything with her. Quin and I haven't had sex yet."
"Perhaps that is why you haven't felt the mind link yet. Keep your eyes and heart open to the possibility of what is to come and you won't be shocked when it does happen," Jay concluded with that statement and turned away.
"Do not walk out on me!"
"Not when you are not thinking like the best friend I know and following the line of your predecessors," Jay challenged.
"Arrghhh~" Xander roared a little bit but even that little roared sent chill down the spine of his friends.
When he was being like this, they knew he was a no go area and he was mad. He hated his authority being undermined.
"Jay!"
"Xander!" Jay yelled back his name daringly. It was the first time both of them have ever gone head to head on an issue like this with Jay not backing down.
"I would acknowledge your position in my life when you think as you, Xander and not as what your position entails of you or are you forgetting that she beats also? Can you look me in the eyes and deny your dragon what she feels?"
"She would…"
"Okay ;let us say you doubt a mate hood can come out of a human and a dragon, you are well enough planning on marrying one or his Quinn just a mere play thing to you? If she is, my Macy isn't and I would marry her."
POW!
"Don't you ever say that again," Xander said after punching Jay hard in the face.
TWAR!
Jay spat out blood on the clean tiles before looking at his friend. How easily did this discussion turn sour all of a sudden?
"I will, till you open your eyes and see it for yourself."
"You are still talking, Jay. Or have you forgotten the people that look up top you?"
'Have you forgotten there is no magic more sacred and ancient than their mate bond and it rules out all rules?"
"I…"
"ENOUGH!" Sky yelled at the top of his voice for them to stop but what he got in response was Xander roaring back at him and Jay getting angry to roar at Xander.
"Can you two just take a chill pill and relax? This is not you Xander and you too, Jay! Can't you two see that your dragon's irritation is leaking out? Can't you feel it from your aura that they are agitated and that happens when you are separated from your mate long enough. Of course you two wouldn't know cause you have never had your mates. I have and I know so back off!"
After listening to what their friend had to say, both of them now realized what was going on. It really was difficult for them a bit but they understood that their conversation turned sour easily and they got easily offended by an issue that could be discussed with ease.
"Can you look at yourselves? This are not the best friends I have. Xander you need to calm down and listen to reason. I know what he is feeling right now and yes, even logic seems useless here but truth be told, he just found his mate and more importantly she is a human."
"I know but how do I explain this?"
"That is the problem you have, Xander. You are not supposed to explain anything to anyone. They all know the mate bond and no one can question it," Sky reminded Jay.
"True and if they do, fret not. I would rather leave my place from the council of leaders and be with Macy than to remain and ignore my mate hood. It is the same as telling me to kill myself."
"Arrghhh!" Xander yelled and ruffled his hair with his hands.
"You do not have to take it all on you, Xander. We are here and the people would listen. It is not Jay's fault or yours or anyone. Leave fate as it is. Perhaps it may be the coexistence that we need so as not to hide in fear anymore."
"You really think it is that easy to align both worlds?" Xander asked his friends.
"There is nothing that cannot be done and had already been done. Once in history we all coexisted," Sky replied him.
"And then everything changed when their fear and their greed took charge and they began killing and taking that which is ours, pushing us to extinction."
"We are alive today, aren't we?" Jay asked both of them.
"Yes but the goal remains to keep the people safe as our ancestors had once done. They passed down this duty to us and we owe it to them and our people to keep things in check."
"And it would be. I trust Macy with my life Xander. And you should know that now, her life is tied to mine, to love and to cherish as I would her."
"Why didn't you say something earlier?" The look in Xander's eyes suddenly changed to a pained one.
He felt sad that his friend would hide something like that from them.
"Because I feared you would react this way. And you did. I love Macy and I would leave the if that is what it takes in having her." They could see that jay's resolve was strong.
No longer could Xander say anything. He was guilty as charged. He let his anger take over.
"My advice to you, Xander, is for you to cool off and relax. And trust me you cannot do it by yourself. You would be even more irritated the longer you stay apart from her. Only she can calm you down. Only the girls can calm you down."
None of them could say anything more than that again. They knew from their hearts he was saying the truth.
