Chapter 125 - My Verdict
*********
CHAPTER 125
"Hmm… Xander, what is your verdict? Are you going to allow him access this time around or not?" Sky asked his friend.
"I suggest we do not wait until we can ensure that there is no hidden motives," Jay suggested.
'Damn this two, what is their goal?' Zale mentally got angry, punching his thigh below the table as he watched on with a smiling face.
Unknown to him, Xander could easily perceive and read him and from all his actions, he knew that he was hiding something but then if he does not allow him into the city to freely do as he pleased, he would not be able to figure out what it is he is hiding from him.
And for that, he could not agree with Jay's suggestion even though he wanted to sincerely. He needed to see where this cunning Zale was getting to and if he put up some more restrictions, then he would give his motive away.
He needed to make him feel welcome and all so that he does not think too much about it and still do what he came here for.
To be a ruler, one must be smart and calculating. If Zale had thought coming to put up a facade today and that would shift their minds from what he really wanted to do, then he was sorely mistaken.
This was Xander, the top CEO that dealt with all manners of people daily. 'Tsk, I have been greatly misjudged by this low scoundrel.' Xander thought inwardly.
"Fine, I have heard you. This is my verdict."
Instantly everywhere became extremely silent save for the faint noise coming from the blowing if the air conditioner that if a pin was to fall, one would hear it.
Nobody knew the kind of verdict he was going to pass on but even at that they could only hope and wait to hear the final words.
"By following the necessary procedures, although you have felted before and that alone should make my verdict to be against you, I would consider your appeal."
'Just accept and stop being a tight up bastard,' Zale thought to himself.
"Zale Anders is hereby given the free chance to come into Star Cross City and continue with his business. You shall be under supervision for a week as punishment for faltering and after your probation period, you are free."
"Thank you, truly for this favour."
"No need to thank me. This meeting had ended and your probation period starts from tomorrow morning till the next week. Have a lovely day."
With that said, he stood up and made his way out of the conference room with Jay and Sky following behind him, not before Jay and Sky made sure to shoot a warning glare at Zale.
As soon as they were on the elevator coming to the first floor, Jay spoke up, ready to ear his displeasure at Xander allowing Zale to be in their city without supervision.
"Xan, I do not understand why you are helping him when you can see it clearly that he has ulterior motives. The smell of his eyes seep out with a stench that makes me want to puke."
"That is one thing we dragons have that no human know about. Ewe can smell whatever feeling they are feeling, be it joy, anger, lying, fear and all that. His loss not mine," Sky chipped in.
"True, so why did you still allow him? I literally spelt it out to you that he could not be trusted," Jay queried his friend.
"Who said anything about trusting him," Xander finally spoke while darting his eyes from one friend to the other.
"What do you mean? Then why did you just give him a week probation period? He should be on probation al through his stay and business in Star Cross City."
Jay was clearly not happy with his decision and Xander could see it clearly but he was beginning to wonder why his friend suddenly became a dull brain.
"Since when did you not think in the same vein with me? Are you still angry as well, Sky?"
"Not angry per se. I know that all you do and your decision have a goal. There is a reason. I am just inquisitive," Sky replied him honestly.
"Thank you. Jay why do you doubt that my ability to lead?" He fixed his gaze on Jay this time.
"I am not doubting your ability, Xan."
"You might as well just do so." He took a deep breath, preventing himself from being angry or irritated.
"I am sorry. I am just as inquisitive as Sky, I guess."
"Way more curious, than I am, Jay," Sky corrected.
"Fine. Please tell us. Tell me the reason."
"I will. I did what I did because of the very fact that he seems so suspicious. He really do have an ulterior motive but if you keep him under watch, lock and key, he would be extremely cautious and not make any slippery move. Is that what you want?"
"No," they chorused.
"Exactly. I need him to feel free and then he would do what needs to be done."
"But one week probation is still proving that he is not free," jay stated.
"Not really," Sky chipped in. "I understand where Xander is driving out to."
"And what is that?"
"Simply put, if he allows Zale to completely feel free with no probation period, it would be too fishy and suspicious but now that he gave him that, Zale would try to be in his best behaviour for then and not do anything rash."
"True. Also, it means I have successfully broken his defense against me. No longer would he be all to protective as he would feel he passed the test but the real test only just begun."
"Nice thinking."
"I am not you, Jay. I watch, I analyze, I think, I bring possibilities together before I turn and make a decision. I cannot make decisions irrationally. Everything happens for a reason and I believe in that. Relax, he would bring himself out by himself."
"Okay. I understand and believe in your strategy."
"Good. Now, that was why I asked what made you dull all of a sudden?"
Jay instantly turned half angry at his friend's rude but playful remark. "Why you…" He threatened to raise his hands at Xander.
However he stopped soon enough when Xander spoke again. "Or is it that you have been fucking Macy too hard or she has a stamina that you cannot match in bed?"
"Pff…" Sky burst into a half silent laugh at Xander's remark. This was funny.
"What! How can she over power me with her stamina. What do you take me for Xander?" Jay retorted.
"Nothing, you just seem to be out of some juices lately that is why I said that. Come, you look pale, did you run out of sperm?"
"Hahaa hahhaa…" Sky could no longer hold it in anymore and let his slaughter out, earning s growl from Jay. "Sorry but damn that got you."
"I should say the same for you, naughty dragon. You cannot get enough of Quinn," Jay fought back.
"Unlike you, I am not controlled by my libido."
"Tsk, is it you or is it Quinn? Tell us the truth that yuou haven't fucked your babe yet," Jay challenged.
"Between the three of us, no and I am proud."
"Tsk. I bet it is not your doing but Quinn's. Cause the Xander I know would not hesitate to plunge his big dragon into the girl he likes."
"Well, you do not know me at all then, naughty Jay," Xander refuted his word and then ruffled his friend's hair when he was not looking.
"Why you…"
"Me what?" Xander said in a threatening voice but Jay could no longer speak. "I thought so. Pff, I see that you are just… sigh, you are already aroused just by mentioning you having sex with her or is it that you are…"
"They are mates, Xander. Let him be. His dragon gets easily irritated and out of control when she is far and he gets a whole lot jealous than usual at the thought that she is with someone else at work, even though they are nothing but colleagues. Any talk that pushes his mind back to sex with her would leave him like this."
As Sky finished speaking, he pointed at the now obvious budge in his friend's trousers and smiled.
"Fuck, stop talking or looking in fact," Jay warned them.
"Better get used to seeing this kind of Jay. He cannot help it. They would be like this for some time before they can adapt and learn to control themselves, especially he with a dragon inside.
"ROAR!"
"Silent naughty Jeriah," Sky scolded when he heard Jay's dragon roar at the back of his mind. Apparently the dragon was not satisfied that they were talking about him like that when his stupid human self, refused to go get their girl for some intimate session.
