Chapter 188 - My Fault, Her Revenge
**************
CHAPTER 188
Who would have thought that she was going to be his mate? The woman his heart, mind and soul belonged to?
He felt as though his heart just got plunged a million times and he let the tears flow down.
He was sorry for his decision but what more could he do? The deed had already been done. Now all he was left with was the bitterness of a decision he made.
Ye he made a difficult situation, now he was going to be left to bear the consequences. Slowly he moved his hand, scared to touch her, too afraid of what might be.
After some time, his fingers finally made contact with her skin and he brushed them lightly against her cheek. "I love you, Jade. I do, I hope you can forgive me."
Xander remained by her side for quite a while, watching over her. It was as though he was scared something would happen to her if he left her side.
And as much as being by her side scared him, he had no other choice. He wanted her to see a familiar face when she woke up and at the same time, he was too scared to be the face she was going to see especially with what had happened.
After some hours he was left with no other choice but to go and check up on Arctic and Asia.
He did not know them much, but he knew the unkillable killer served under Mr Frost. He had even known this then and was shocked that such a mafia group could have such a man and after some years no one heard of Arctic again.
They all thought something bad had happened to him. What a shock it was to see he was still alive.
Xander met Jay and Sky just outside his bedroom door. They did not bother to knock or ask to come in, rather they waited for him.
With shock evident on his face, Xander looked at his friends with eyes full of dread and fear. None of them spoke to him, rather they walked up to him and hugged him in turn.
"She would be fine," Sky assured him.
"I do not doubt that one bit."
"But you fear that she may never forgive you. Isn\'t that right?" Jay asked. He knew it himself, they all knew it and that was why none of them could assure him and say that it was going to be alright.
Nothing was alright from the moment that idiot Zale opened his mouth to sprout that nonsense. He knew what he was doing. He knew just how formidable the deadly iceberg\'s daughter was and played them so that she would take care of Xander for him.
"It was all part of his plan," Jay added. "He wants your beloved to be against you and for dragons, the mate bond is one of the sacred magic of old and it rules out every other magic. What more terror would it be to you for you to have the one your soul is tied to, hate you?"
"He played his game well. I am sorry my friend. I cannot begin to imagine the dread, pain and hurt you feel."
"No worries. I brought this upon myself. I should have known that this idiot was a fox." Xander\'s eyes darkened when he made mention of Zale.
"So what next?"
"Now Sky, I wait for her to wake up and plead for her forgiveness but knowing Quinn, I mean Jade.." He let out a sigh and shook his head at them. "For some time now, I have pleaded with her to let go of the hatred she had for her parent\'s murderers of which she never told me who, she only told me she must get her revenge back."
"She had carried the pain since. It was bad losing all you have loved and be forced from home to go and live another life, a life of pretence."
"I know, Jay bit then again, I know she wouldn\'t forgive me."
"In time she would," Sky tried to be optimistic about the situation.
"That is not what pains me. She would stop at nothing to kill me."
"And us, from the way I see it. She would bring down the dragon clan, cause they are your family."
"For our sakes, I hope not," Xander replied.
"And if she is hell-bent on seeking her revenge? Do not forget that right now she would hate you," Jay chipped in.
"I cannot allow the extinction of my people. I would negotiate my life for everyone. No one should be made to suffer for my decisions. Hopefully, it wouldn\'t boil down to it."
"Luckily you have the mate bond. The mate bond would not allow it. You should be grateful she is your mate."
"I don\'t know. Now please where are the others. I need to speak with them and find out how they found her. It seemed she had been holding well until that day when we ran into Zale at the hotel."
"Oh, well they are in rooms 3 and 5 on the second floor," Sky informed him.
"Thank you."
"You want us to follow you?"
Xander hesitated for a second, then he moved back to the door in his room and chanted a spell silently, soon a red light shone on the door then faded away almost instantly.
"I have put a spell to protect her. Now we can go."

All this while, Arctic and Asia had still not seen. They had long finished changing but neither of them could fall asleep. They were so worried about Jade and what was going on with her.
They had asked Sky and Jay respectively but they got similar answers. "She was doing okay."
"She is with the master."
At first, Arctic was scared considering who Xander really was, the very Dragon Lord her father warned her about.
He did not know whether to thank goodness or weep for Jade. The only time she decided to fall in love, she fell in love with her enemy.
He could almost imagine how she would be feeling now. Her hatred would run deep. She would be in so much rage now, and out of that rage, her hatred for herself and for him would skyrocket.
If only they had decoded the message on time and she had known the truth, she would never have fallen in love with Xander but now she did and she would hate herself for it.
"Jade, I am so sorry. I wish I could have saved you from this and protect you from the hurt but all I did was bring you to the truth while endangering your life. If only there was a way for you to not go through this, I would give up my life to see it done."
At that moment a knock came on the door and it was pushed open right after.
Arctic could not explain the lack of courtesy seeing as he was in Xander\'s house and was also saved by him.
Who was he to talk again?
Immediately Xander and his friends entered, Arctic eyes locked with Xander\'s.
