Chapter 309
CHAPTER 309
By the time they arrived at the mansion, they were not so surprised to find the dragons waiting for them.
Quickly, everyone highlighted from the vehicles, except for the men with them and all six girls walked over to meet the guys.
“Jade,” Xander’s eyes watered just watching her walk up to him.
As careful as she was while they fought, he was scared that they might have figured out their plan and the shipment arrived earlier and there laid an ambush for her and the others.
But seeing her arrive in one piece and with that charming smile on her face, he was sure as hell glad things were going the way he would be happy about.
“My love.” She ran into his embrace and hugged him tightly.
“You came back safe,” Jade relaxed into his hug as did he.
.....
“I did, my love and so did you.” He pulled away to look at her again and nodded slightly. “Good. How was your mission?”
This time he turned to face the others, pulling her close to his side.
“It was okay. Although we experienced a minor setback as there was a problem,” Astoria explained.
“I see. We experienced something similar. Just one shipment with barely any goods had been spotted on the sea. We had to attack like that,” Aramis filled in. He swept his gaze back to his newfound mate and pressed a kiss on her forehead.
“Haha, I am not a baby, Aramis. I am a skilled assassin. Treat me as one.”
“Hmm, do you see Jade complaining about the way and manner Xander is pampering her?” Aramis compared. She rolled her eyes at him.
Of course, he would make such a comparison. He was like a child who got a new toy and would not by any chance let go.
Astoria shook her head before looking at Jade and Xander. “Your mate did well today coordinating even when we noticed the problem.”
“I see. What did she do?” Xander asked, not peeling his eyes away from Jade’s. “Tell me how she excelled.”
“It is quite simple. She took charge as though that was the initial plan in the first place,” Minerva added.
He raised his brows at jade. Without looking up he already knew who was speaking. And for someone as Minerva to applaud her, then she did well.
They told him of her decision and how their operation went. Once they finished the guys told of their feat and how suspiciously looking things well.
Just to be safe, Xander had cast a spell on them, wiping their memory of the incident concerning the fight and making them obedient to his command.
Although he knew hypnotic magic, it wasn’t his gift like Minerva.
So of course, if faced with her situation he would not have been able to pull it off due to his limited hold on it.
“Indeed you two are mates. To think you would figure out similar strategies even though you were apart,”
Jay noted and gave them a thumbs up.
“All we wish to see, is something blooming after this war else, we would war with you guys,” Jenny added.
All in all, their first time went well and as much as it was not something celebrating, it was most definitely something to be happy about.
No matter what, they did not lose a person but that was not changing the fact that the main war was inevitable and soon at that.
Perhaps it was what Jade needed to get her head back in the game and realize just how much of a revenge mission this was.
Later everyone retired to their various rooms to freshen up and relaxed while they had the time. Xander had placed a meeting for them to converge and plan again at late noon.
This time around, Minerva wasn’t bitchy nor quiet. Rather she participated in all the plans and made contributions.
Of course, since she was more than willing to participate this time, she was ready to use her powers to help out.
Having her was a big advantage in this war game. And he might be the key to cornering Anders.
If she could get him under her mind control then what was there that they could not do?
At the end of the meeting, Astoria decided to lighten the mood since Jade was behaving more serious than before.
She wanted her to loosen up and face her mate as she had claimed but as much as Minerva flirted, she wasn’t affected by it.
‘Time to spice things up a bit.’ She planned in her mind.
She rubbed both palms against each other and smiled at the others. “Hey Xander, wanna guess what that feisty mate of yours said earlier today?”
From the flirtatious vibe she gave, Xander and the other guys became very much interested and everyone shifted in their seats.
“Sure. I am all ears. What did she say?”
“That, mind you in her words, not mine. If you do not fawn over him, then I would wonder if my lover is losing his touch, don’t you think? His charms cannot go down. Not on my watch. So yeah, fan over my mate. In the end, he is still mine and you and I know, that not even your hypnosis can work on him.”
They listened carefully as she told word for word all that jade said and by the time she was done, the guys were cheering her on and wanting her to prove it.
Feeling embarrassed, Jade lowered her head and bit down on her lower lip as she tried her best to avoid eye contact as much as possible.
“Is that true?”
Although everyone knew that asking what Astoria said was true or not was a waste of precious time as the young lady loved to gossip and would always give you the best well-informed news.
But they could guess he wished to tease Jade.
“Stop it,” Jade meekly called out.
“So, it is true, huh? I see you are fighting for me... No,” Xander corrected.
“Exactly, Xander. She has solidified her place with you. Consummate the mate bond already,” Jay half yelled in joy.
