Chapter 50 Confused
Amanda then stepped into the meeting room behind the glass wall and at the same time, the lifts on that floor started to open, revealing all kinds of people, from old to young.
They consist of directors and their assistants, some of whom are senior managers. One thing they have in common is their confused faces when they saw Amanda who was already sitting on the main chair in the meeting room. They were also confused when they saw Arthur there.
The young man was currently standing in front of an aquarium, feeding the fish inside.
The last to arrive were Lin and Kaiya. Upon arriving there, Lin kept staring back and forth between Amanda and Arthur.
Kaiya still didn\'t get an explanation from her, but slowly, she also started to suspect something.
"Ehmmmm..." Amanda cleared her throat softly to break the silence caused by the confusion of the people there.
Right after that, an old man whose hair was full of gray hair, sitting closest to Amanda asked, "Director, please don\'t play around with company affairs. Why does the business plan need to be changed, it is already very good, we may have to pay Vera University more, but as long as the research is successful, we can earn much more."
Amanda had expected the question, calmly, she replied, "Mr. Mason, my mind is made and I know what I\'m doing."
She looked at the others and continued, "First, I want you guys to find a large building that could be used as a shop. Make sure it\'s on one of the main streets.
"Secondly, I want you to look for a packaged coffee processing factory around this city, if there isn\'t one, please build it as soon as possible."
"What?" The people were dumbfounded. Her first request didn\'t make them wonder since they were a fashion company, maybe she wanted to open a specialty shop. But the coffee factory?
The finance director, a middle-aged woman with long brown hair, couldn\'t help but ask, "Director, we are a fashion company and even if we expand our business into other areas, it is still related to fashion. But coffee?"
"Mrs. Linda." Amanda interrupted before the woman could finish her words.
"Tell me, have any of my projects failed?"
"Mm..." Linda wanted to speak but didn\'t know what to say so her lips closed.
"Director, even though you always succeed, we still need a realistic explanation," said Mason, the deputy director.
"If you want to sell coffee, at least show us the coffee. Everyone may like coffee, but there are too many people selling coffee, one extra doesn\'t mean a thing."
Mason\'s words made Amanda glance at Arthur, but then she shook her head. She knew that now was not the time to show the coffee because there could be some crazy employees who would do anything to get their hands on the recipe.
"Wait until we have the factory," Amanda replied.
She looked at Mrs. Linda again and said, "Our company isn\'t that short on cash, is it, that it can\'t buy or build a coffee factory?"
"Hehehe, of course, no! After all, coffee factories are inexpensive." Mrs. Linda laughed softly in response, she seemed worried when Amanda talked about money.
The meeting lasted about half an hour before Amanda told them all to leave except for Lin and Kaiya who were still helping her with some paperwork.
Meanwhile, Arthur walked up to them, making Lin eye him warily, like a mouse seeing a cat.
"Those old guys seem to like to challenge you, why don\'t you dismiss them from the company?" asked Arthur.
Besides Mrs. Linda, who is middle age, the majority of the directors are old people, aged 50 to 60 years, the deputy director even looks over 70 years old. That\'s of course quite funny, a fashion company managed by old people. They may be experts, but there\'s no way this company doesn\'t have younger experts. Old people are sometimes very conservative and have a feeling of superiority. And obviously some of them weren\'t that obedient to Amanda.
Given that the Nelsons own 95% of the company, it shouldn\'t be difficult if Amanda wants to fire them.
"Humph, did you think managing a company was that easy?" Lin suddenly replied, using a sarcastic tone.
Arthur naturally didn\'t respond, not even glancing at her, he kept his eyes on Amanda and then added "if you need any help I can help you get them retired."
"What? What nonsense are you saying?" Lin was startled again, looking at Arthur as if he was a braggart who didn\'t know the immensity of heaven and earth.
However, what surprised her even more was that Amanda suddenly waved her hand at her and Kaiya. "Both of you, go back to your places," she said.
"Boss, we\'re not done yet?" Kaiya knit her brows doubtfully. Usually, even when they had finished work, Amanda would still tell them to wait. This time, she told them to leave.
Unfortunately, Amanda responded with one word. "Go!"
The two women naturally had no other choice but to leave. The two of them continued to stare at the meeting room as they exited from there. And while entering the elevator, Kaiya asked Lin. "What exactly did you see in the boss\'s office?"
"Boss..." Lin took a deep breath as she closed her eyes and replied, "I\'ve seen boss and Arthur,,, t-they were hugging and kissing."
"What?" Kaiya staggered backwards, her expression filled with disbelief. If Amanda had done that with any other guy her age, she\'d probably just be shocked, but not overreact. The thing is, this is a high school student.
"How did their relationship develop so quickly?" She wondered.
Of course, she was aware of Amanda\'s interest in Arthur, but interest, liking, and love were different things.
"Maybe that guy used some evil magic," Lin replied, wearing a suspicious expression.
"And this change in business plan, I\'m sure it\'s also because he influenced the boss\'s mind," she added.
"Don\'t say nonsense," Kaiya replied. She was still rational, thinking it had some reason. "Boss shouldn\'t lose her rationality in business, there must be something to make her sure."
"Then what about the kiss?" asked Lin.
Kaiya was silent for a while before answering, "maybe boss is really in love with her. I can\'t argue, even though he\'s just a student, he\'s charming and enchant indeed."
Lin, "..."
