Chapter 133 On The Stage, Part 3
Being asked that question, Cale cleared his throat. He took a deep breath and replied, "I am very serious about my dream. Before today, apart from continuing to study, I have read more than 30 books that tell of someone who was successful in his career.
"Since I haven\'t started yet and have no experience, I will summarize the most important parts of people\'s experiences in the books I have read. And I will also provide my comments and opinions. I believe what I will say later will be very useful for all of us."
He glanced at Arthur after saying that with eyes like he said; "I will beat you in this section, listen and learn!"
As he stopped talking for breath, some of the students gave him quite a loud applause.
The majority of students here have a desire to have a career in a top company and become successful.
Of course, they have also studied the various tips. However, reading up to more than 30 books is something they never do. The average of them only read three or four books.
Plus, sometimes the opinions of the same generation have some merit because in the end, they will compete with those of their own generation.
Even Isla was watching Cale more seriously. She may not be very interested in the guy\'s dream, but keep in mind that she herself is still a university student.
When we talk about a serious career, she has not yet started either.
Just as Cale was about to continue his words, Arthur suddenly raised his hand, which was obviously a sign for Cale to wait.
"What is it?" asked the man with furrowed brows. He looked irritated because previously his mind was at its best but Arthur\'s actions distracted him. He thought he should take a few more deep breaths to reach that state once again.
Of course, the audience was quite confused by Arthur\'s actions. They were wondering what he was trying to say since it was something very rare for a participant to cut off his opponent before that opponent had even spoken.
"If you want to talk about how to be a good slave, I better step back now, there\'s no use listening to that nonsense," replied Arthur which instantly made the atmosphere freeze.
Several workers who happened to be doing the surveillance accidentally dropped their pens when they heard that.
Isla even took off her glasses because it was easier for her to see distant points without them.
What was interesting about Arthur\'s words was the word slave.
This is probably a word that is mentioned quite often these days, especially by young workers who feel they are being so over-exploited by their bosses that they then consider themselves or others who are experiencing the same thing as corporate slaves.
Even though it\'s fairly common, it\'s usually just a meme spread around the internet, nothing that brings it up to serious discussion, let alone at school.
Plus, Arthur was still only a student, he had never had a career before, so he shouldn\'t bring up this kind of topic.
However, Gen-Z always end up doing new things that seem to demean old things. As the oldest of Gen-Z, Isla has always been interested in those things even though she sometimes disapproves of what they do.
"What nonsense are you saying?" Cale asked.
"You\'re the one talking nonsense," Arthur replied with a slight smile.
"Aren\'t you embarrassed? It might have been impressive talking about it twenty or thirty years ago, but what year is it? If you keep talking about it, then the living system will always be like that, teaching us how to be good workers, not how to be lords, at least for ourselves."
Arthur chose to replace the word slave with the word worker so that the atmosphere would be calmer because at this time several people seemed to have been in a state of chaos, especially the workers.
That is ultimately the thinking of youth. Those who were old didn\'t agree and of course they didn\'t like being thought of as slaves.
Cale felt like he was being lectured by Arthur, which annoyed him greatly. However, when he opened his mouth, no words came out other than indistinct voices, the result of hesitation.
Even though he was angry, he unfortunately couldn\'t refute Arthur\'s words. Even his brain spontaneously thought that it made sense.
In the end, he was also a Gen-Z, so his rebellious traits of the old system were also present in him although on the whole, he still adhered to the old way of thinking.
"Do you have any suggestions on what topics we should cover?" Isla asked Arthur.
"The quality of the humans right now is so low, the majority can\'t do anything without someone managing them," Arthur answered. "The solution, as I said earlier, is to make humans able to become lords of themselves."
If talking about such qualities, Arthur could tell that the humans on earth were far behind than the mortals in the Sky World. At least there, no one goes hungry even if they don\'t get jobs from other people.
"And how to do it?" Asked Isla again.
"You know, someone said; if you can\'t use others, then you will be used by others. That\'s the concept of life while the elites are people capable of using others," Arthur said, smiling again. Since he was already on stage, there was no way he wouldn\'t give any explanation since he wasn\'t the type to walk away leaving the impression like he was just an idiot trying to get attention.
"The key is in using others so that we are not used by others. Perhaps the concept cannot be applied to any civilization, but at least everyone should have the ability to utilize themselves so that they can survive without the help of others. Our education should focus on those things."
"Brother, what if I can\'t use others and can\'t make use of myself, is my fate only to be a slave?" A question suddenly came from one of the students. It turned out to be Harry.
The students stared at him but most of them didn\'t know who he was so they shrugged.
Of course, what is interesting is the question. The average person has such problems, so is there a solution for them?
Arthur stared at Harry from the stage, laughing softly as he replied "then be useless, no one will be able to use you anymore!"
