Chapter 173 The Origin Of The Gold
"And you\'re also a member of the military, right?" Isabel asked again, which was responded with a nod by Andi.
Of course, his mind was not as easy to control, he then asked, "what do you want?"
"Didn\'t my nephew tell you already? We want you to help us," Isabel answered.
"And you need to know; we are magi, not creatures that undergo genetic evolution like you," she added, causing Andi\'s eyes to widen.
"Magi?" he said and unconsciously looked at Arthur again. Even looking at Nova standing on another branch.
He was not someone who had never heard of magi even though he had never seen them directly.
His trust in them was not that high, but he still believed that they existed.
Now, these people claimed to be magus. He was not too doubtful because he could sense extreme danger from each of them.
"That girl is a legendary werewolf," Isabel continued while Andi stared at Nova, surprising him again because he thought werewolves were only a mythological creature.
"Let me tell you one fact! The evolution process you are going through is limited and very risky. Maybe later you can reach a point where you can ignore firearms — but that\'s all, while magus can continue to develop to the point of claiming to be a god among gods." Isabel continued to speak, explaining everything in quite detail. Arthur was surprised that she didn\'t mind talking that much.
Andi took a deep breath after hearing her words.
"Will you help me become a magus if I help you?" he then asked.
However, just as he asked, Isabel\'s lightning-covered palm suddenly swung towards him.
It was so fast that he couldn\'t react.
BANG!
When it hit his cheek, he felt as if his bones were being washed and brushed with thorns. Various painful sensations filled his body.
He thought it would be better to fall to the ground for now than to feel those sensations.
Unfortunately, even though he was supposed to fall, Arthur held him again. He even pressed some points in his body so he couldn\'t scream even though he wanted to.
On the other hand, Isabel said, "How dare you ask that — you should be grateful we didn\'t do anything excessive to you. Your only two choices are to help us or challenge us. Whatever we give you after that depends on our will."
Her eyes were cold as she scolded the man.
He hadn\'t been intimidated for a long time, but Isabel was now shaking his heart.
If Isabel were just a member of Congress, he could ignore her or even mock her, but she had power over him, a mysterious power that he didn\'t know how it worked.
When the painful sensations disappeared, he fell silent, not daring to speak anymore.
"What is your decision?" Isabel asked.
"Um..." Andi coughed. "I\'m afraid I\'ll be tortured or killed, even though I\'m not afraid of death, I don\'t think I\'m ready..."
"Of course, you\'re not ready because now you have power." Isabel mocked him.
If it was about dying, she was not afraid either. In fact, she was much braver than most people, or she would not have continued to be an idealistic official, challenging every wrong thing.
However, since she had the power, her desire to live was stronger than before. She might still not be afraid of death, but she would try better to keep living.
While Andi bowed his head in shame, she spoke again. "Now, tell us everything!"
"Please give me the questions," Andi replied, as if he was confused about where to start talking.
"Okay! First, how much gold is there?" Isabel asked.
A question about it slightly changed Andi\'s expression, perhaps the number also made it difficult for him to say.
However, under Isabel\'s gaze, he still answered, "m-maybe 20 to 25 tons..."
The number he mentioned instantly froze Isabel\'s expression. Nova even opened her mouth.
If all that gold were sold, its value could range between 1.2 to 1.7 billion euros. A very large amount.
And it\'s all gold, not a stack of paper like the euro. In mortal life, its value will never decrease.
Even for Arthur, with his current strength, he regarded gold as something good.
At least it is included in the type of shiny metal.
"Who owns it?" asked Isabel while taking a deep breath.
"The Armstrong family," Andi replied.
"Them? Hmph!" Isabel snorted when she heard that.
"Do you know where the gold comes from?"
"Each of them has Emperor Napoleon\'s portrait, even complete with its stamp, so they should be from the French Empire."
When she heard that, Isabel froze again before laughing.
"The Armstrong family, damn them, how much wealth have they hidden?" She couldn\'t help but curse.
She thought they manipulated everything so that there wasn\'t even a record that the empire lost a lot of gold after it collapsed.
Talking about it, even Andi wanted to sigh. He was also amazed by that family when he knew about this place.
"How long has the gold been here?" Isabel asked again, looking like she wouldn\'t stop until she knew the details.
"They\'ve been here before me, so it\'s probably been a long time," Andi answered.
"That means there are no plans for relocation anytime soon?" Right after saying that, Isabel shook her head. "No, they might want to move the gold or you might not have been hired to guard it."
Andi seemed to agree with Isabel\'s guess.
The latter then looked at Arthur.
"What\'s your opinion?" She asked him.
"I\'ll steal the gold, but I need a plan," Arthur replied.
Isabel\'s eyes became strange for a moment after hearing that. However, she didn\'t try to reject his plan.
Of course, Andi was shocked. He thought he would be in serious trouble later.
Pa!
Suddenly Arthur patted his shoulder and he felt something entering his body.
"What\'s that?" He asked spontaneously.
"Basically, you will die if you don\'t keep this secret," Arthur answered.
Hearing that, Andi\'s mouth opened wider. He became even less sure about his future.
The only thing that could calm him down was that Arthur had said he would consider him to have made a great contribution as long as he helped him.
