金发美眉的野心

Chapter 38 Deal

"So then, what brought you here? Do you wish to join my guild?" Jake smiled and asked, writing a few words on a piece of paper that he had ready.

"I don\'t want a contract right now. I have no intention of tying myself to a guild." Kierch shook his head.

"Do not worry. Once you go through these terms, I am sure that you will be very interested." Jake smiled and continued writing, and then pushed the piece of paper toward Kierch.

Even though he declined at first, he still picked up the sheet and looked through the simple terms that Jake had put forth.

His eyes were steady throughout, until they flickered for a second as he went down the list.

"I wonder, can you really afford the amount that you quote here?" he asked.

"Have you seen this place? We can make that kind of money with ease over a week. And that is a good enough investment in someone that I see having a lot of value." Jake nodded.

"The money is tempting, but money is not what I want. I am looking for something else." Kierch shook his head.

"You want the thrill of the fight, I guess? I mean, this is the real world now. The only world that matters anyway, and it doesn\'t make sense if we focus only on making money if we can have true adventure, if we can be heroes. That is what you are thinking, am I wrong?" Jake asked, tapping his pen on the table.

"You know me so well. It is like you and I are the same person. But I would never confine myself to a guild, forcing myself to work for profit twenty hours a day." Kierch shook his head.

"You do not understand. Now that I have my own guild, I can actually do whatever I want. And that is the freedom that I am willing to give you. Although I can\'t afford to give you what many others can, I can give you something that no one else can. I can guarantee that you will get an Epic Class in the next two months." Jake said.

The tapping on the table intensified as Kierch\'s eyes darted back and forth.

"That\'s impossible. No one has access to the Epic Classes. Nova made sure that even the biggest corporations could not buy the information about them." Kierch\'s face was filled with disbelief and caution.

"If you don\'t believe me, then you can walk out the door. I don\'t blame you. But you must know that there is a reason only I have a store among all of the corporations out there, and only I have enough money to actually pay all my guild members such an exorbitant salary." Jake said.

"You put forward good points, but promising an Epic Class seems impossible to me." Kierch shook his head.

"How about we do this. You want freedom. I will give you that. You do not need to actually grind with the guild members. You can choose to, but if you want, you can grind on your own. And I will not force you on raids, but you do have to join the guild on important party raids where we need good numbers. And after two months, if I don\'t give you the Epic Class, then you can leave. If you find it yourself somehow, then it is your choice." Jake said.

"I want it on paper. I am not signing anything else." Kierch said.

"You want freedom, do you not? Then why paper? We can make this verbal. That is best for you. At any point, you can leave the guild with no repercussions, but when you do leave, the doors close. Only for you, I am throwing out all the rules. And I don\'t want to see you take advantage of them. If you walk out that door, you aren\'t coming back." Jake said with a stern voice.

Kierch paused, and then he looked around.

The room was sparsely decorated, but the decorations would make any player\'s eyes red with jealousy. These were all very good quality Rare class items that Jake decided had to be reserved for the guild members.

He did not disclose his intention yet though, so people who came here thought that he was rich enough to let rare class items become decorative show pieces.

"I will join, as long as I get the Epic Class item that is in the showcase below." Kierch said.

Jake stopped. If he jumped on this now, then he would forever be on the losing side of every discussion that they would ever have in the future. And Kierch would have all the leverage, knowing that Jake valued him so much.

"The item is not mine. I cannot just give it to you. But what I can do, is I can give it to you on credit. You will pay with your salary. I will give you that chance." Jake said.

"Wonderful." Kierch\'s face lit up. Who didn\'t want an Epic class weapon? They were one of the most coveted items in the game right now. The stat boost that they did give was just too epic.

"I am not done yet. I will give it to you if you can pay for it. But you can only afford it if you work for me for one month. But the terms will be a little different than last time. This time, you have to participate in every single raid that the guild is a part of. Not the grinding, but the raids without exception." Jake said.

"Deal. I get the epic class weapon in a month as long as I join your guild." Kierch nodded.

"Now then, why don\'t you detail your class and skills here so that I can prepare accordingly?" Jake asked as he sent over the request to Kierch to join the guild.

[Shadow King wants to invite you to his guild: Bright Horizon. Accept Y/N]

"Accept." Kierch nodded.
