Chapter 36 Are You Proud Of Me?
When Hisha got no response from HTC, he began to get frustrated about what Alta had said to make Zui deactivate her ability without putting up a fight.
Alta quickly grabbed Zui by the neck and smashed her hard to the ground.
Solara leaped to her feet in shock, there was something wrong with Zui as she made no effort in fending off Alta.
"What the heck are you doing Zui? Get the hell up!" She screamed out in rage, the feeling of interrupting the duel growing.
Hisha forced her to sit and glared at her. Shaking his head to her unprecedented interruption.
Solara held his glare with a suppressed rage knowing this was what they had agreed on.
[Something doesn\'t feel right, host!]
HTC informed him as it analyzed the situation before it.
Hisha scoffed and rolled his eyes, wanting to know to what extent Alta could go when she was given free space to do as she pleases.
Zui had her face covered in trails of blood that dripped as Alta raised her high into the air with one arm.
Her legs dangled as she was raised above the floor.
"I–I give up!" Zui blurted out and coughed out blood.
Alta smirked and had a grin on her lips as she whispered, "good girl, know your place and you would survive."
With that, she dropped Zui to the floor.
Thud!
[500 points acquired]
Alta glared at Solara and mouthed the words, "show me how strong you can be and I would spare your friends just like I spared her."
Solara held her glare for a moment, but rushed towards Zui, using the same towel to wrap around her head.
[Duel: 0]
[Number of possible harems participating: 0]
[Victories: 8]
[Points accumulated during the tournament: 4000]
Ding!
[Total Points earned: 9100]
Hisha\'s mouth gaped open at the weird showdown that happened. That wasn\'t how the tournament was meant to end.
\'What the fuck just happened?!\' Hisha hissed and expected explanations from either HTC who could hear him in his subconscious or Kritz who might be having similar thoughts as he is.
[Alta made a compromise for a bigger opportunity to cause more carnage later on]
Those words sounded strangely annoying and he frowned at the climax of what had happened.
There was silence all around as they watched Zui being catered for by one of the harem members who had a healing ability.
Kritz was too stunned to announce as he joined in staring at Alta who just stood proudly with her head raised high.
Her bloody hands had stained her blue revealing double slit ankle-length dress while she tried to wipe it off.
\'How the hell did my master rescue such a beast?!\' Kritz furrowed his brows when he remembered the first time his lord had introduced him to Alta.
It was unbelievable that such a female with the ability and temper as she did would ever need anyone\'s help.
Alta spotted Hisha among the crowd and immediately went docile with a bright smile and waved at him. "Are you proud of me?"
\'Proud of her? Why would I be–\' Hisha\'s eyes widened in realization and let out a low curse.
[Remember the command you had given her a few days ago?]
Hisha pinched the bridge of his nose, suddenly hating himself for giving her such a command and yet the others flouted it unknowingly while in the tournament.
Giving a nod of confirmation, he tried his best to look neutral and unaffected.
[Exp+4]
Ding!
[Exp: 69]
[Level up!]
\'How did I forget this rule?\' Hisha questioned himself in self scorn.
Although there was a part of him that wanted Zui alive basically because she was the first he had met and bold enough when the others in meretrix one were reluctant at first. She had also risked her life to save the others alongside Solara when meretrix one was attacked.
Another wished to see how crazy Alta could be in the arena. There was no limit to what she could do, but after what he had said, his mood fell drastically.
\'Who would have thought that it was best to modify that command?!\' Hisha internally facepalmed and let out a bitter smile.
[You learn from your mistakes or regrets, host]
It all began to click on what Alta might have whispered to Zui before the deactivation of her ability–the chance to be alive if she doesn\'t put up a fight and accept a taste of her strength while she\'s still a bit docile.
He could liken Alta\'s attitude to a predator not willing to devour dead prey because it feels uninterested in an easy target but finds the thrill in chasing after it.
Alta considered her foes as prey, to which she was ready to chase if they showed the slightest chance of struggling.
Kritz cleared his throat, "ahem!"
As soon as the word left his lips, all attention was drawn to him once more.
"Alta Sus wins the final round!" Kritz announces.
Alta squealed in delight and clapped her hands like a baby as she twirled in the air with her wings wrapping around her until she got to her feet safely.
This switch in attitude shocked everyone who had witnessed her other side. As she flew in the direction of the rest of the sitting harem, there was a bigger space left in her wake than Yagami did.
This had forced the tribal chiefs to stiffly turn their heads towards Hisha in fear mixed with curiosity.
"My lord, how did you acquire such a rare race of demons? Moreso a succubus which is the rarest of their race." Mich spoke on behalf of the rest.
The tribal chiefs nodded without saying a word, this secret harem wasn\'t just hidden because she was beautiful but was deadly dangerous just from her aura which rivaled Solara\'s.
Instead, they suddenly preferred Solara\'s subtle approach to things to this new Harem–it looked like she cared for no one else other than Hisha and that was an issue in the plans they had for his harem and Hisha.
Alta looked ready to kill anyone only if Hisha made a snap of his fingers, that alone scared the hell out of them as their skins paled.
Suddenly curious about the true method of the original host gaining the trust of Alta had him play along with the tribal chiefs, "you want to know how?"
They all gave a light nod of their heads, awaiting his response.
