Chapter 95 Even If We Lay Down Our Lives
\'That disrespectful swine!\' Hisha spat, not only did he disrespect him, but had also taken advantage of the funds given.
At the onset into the world he found himself in, he had always wondered why there was an ensuing hatred that had led to Kritz brutally killing him over an issue that could be overlooked.
Now that he witnessed the endangering condition his soldiers were in, he couldn\'t care less if Kritz flared up at anyone.
\'He deserved what he got!\'
"Do not be alarmed, I had thought this place could use a bit of refurbishing–although I hadn\'t realised it would extend to the interiors."
Making more emphasis on the latter part so HTC could understand he was talking to it and could understand why a large sum of his Sux drained in a matter of seconds.
The soldiers all fell face down and repeatedly thanked him.
"To what do we owe our overlord gracing our trenches?" Another guard spoke up.
Raising his head slightly, it revealed the red scar that trailed from his forehead and across his eye to his chin.
Intrigued, Hisha stared at the scar and began making a mental note on what could have made him have such a big one at that.
"I would like to personally request your services in a secret task and not just any task but a search for someone." Hisha briefed and waited for response before he would continue.
Nodding their heads, they looked back down, awaiting his next words.
"A situation had occured in the land of Mertac and a search for a dangerous yet alluring female is made the most important one for the period."
"A female?" A scoff was made amidst the soldiers and the rest began to made side remarks on how weak of a person the tribal chief of the merfolk was, if he couldn\'t handle just a single problem from his land.
"Does anyone have a problem with the task?" Hisha folded his arms, sensing division and reluctance from some of them.
Several hands were raised, but not for the task but the disdain they felt towards the merfolk due to some of them witnessing the murder of the previous Merchief–in their thoughts could only be considered weak.
"I have no issue with what my lord has said and we all can testify to this fact..."
"But there is something you would like to say on behalf of the others." Hisha completed with a raise of his brow.
Nodding his head, he gave the permission to go further with the soldier\'s concern.
"Time and time again, the merfolk had never contributed positively to your cause, my lord. Even while we were sent to search for the best of the females in the lands, the tribal chief–"
There was a collective brief cough made from the rest which signalled him to stop and mind his words as he spoke.
Although they had been silent about the mistreatment endured in the hands of the very people their lord had chosen to be his advisors, they knew speaking ill of any was as good as going against the overlord.
Noticing his hesitance to continue, Hisha squatted and called the soldier forward to be just three feets away from him.
"Lord Hisha, I would never..."
Beckoning him forward and not taking no for an answer, Hisha waited till the soldier made his way among the rest, and got on one knee as they all did.
Having a big grin on his face, Hisha tilted his head to the right before speaking. "You might think that I don\'t see all, but remember I have eyes and ears everywhere and I do know about the misgivings of my tribal chiefs..."
Watching as the soldier\'s eyes widened, so did the others, they all lowered their heads in shame at being caught red handed.
Clicking his tongue and getting to his feet, Hisha leaned on a pillar, "it\'s best you don\'t hide anything from me, keeping it is as good as siding with them."
His eyes gleamed with the glow in his eyes and his mood darkened momentarily before switching back to his happy go lucky vibes. "If you know what\'s best for you, I would spill before I cut off those who aren\'t needed."
Gulping at the subtle threat, the guard nodded his head and continued nonetheless. "They had tried to sabotage the selection by threatening some of the families to give up their daughters with funds stolen from the taxes, killed some in a bid to mix the females with inferior ones with little to no use of their abilities or skills."
[Why do I feel as though I had told you something similar?]
HTC bragged with a humming sound, feeling superior in intellect and the fact it could feed Hisha with an accurate information in a matter of request.
Hisha internally chuckled at the sarcastic attitude of its system to the news.
Although he had known about the situation, he had also thought through on the solution at the time, it was only a matter of time before he implements them gradually.
"They can\'t be trusted, my lord." The soldier ended on a final note, his heart thumping hard, dreading he had overstepped his bound even though he had been given the chance to.
There was an eerie silence for a while until Hisha walked towards the soldier.
Seeing the shadow cast on him, the soldier trembled, unsure if he should look up and see what was to be made of him.
"Look at me." Hisha commanded in a low voice, calm and patient on his manner of approach.
He couldn\'t guess how the original host had treated his soldiers, but there was one thing he was certain about, he had gotten the adoration and fear of these soldiers.
All he needed to do was solidify this and he would have more allies by his side.
Reluctantly, the soldier looked up to see Hisha\'s outstretched arms towards him.
Shaking his hand so as to signal him to take it, "it\'s getting boring seeing you all half your size."
This little joke didn\'t go unnoticed as their was a chuckle heard from all, slowly getting to their feet and dusting their knees.
"I am not doing this just for the merfolk but to gain back what I had lost." He announced to all, taking a glance at all of them.
Although he couldn\'t go into detail what he meant by that, he needed them to understand he was solely helping for his sake.
"If this is for our lord..." One of the guard bellowed and paused for the rest to carry on with the sentence.
"... we would lay our lives to make it a reality!" The rest chorused with rekindled determination.
Hisha had a proud smile, watching them all
"All you need to do is capture

Deactivating his ability, he let out a sigh and his voice turned cold, "I don\'t need your confirmation to know."
"You do have a motive for joining my harem and if it means becoming the monster you so want me to be, I would gladly do so." Hisha finalized and turned around, making his way to the door.
Pesa stared at his back and felt a lump in her throat. While he was over her, she had expected him to forcefully have his way on her, but him pulling away was something strange after what she had done and said to him.

\'Why?\' She gritted her teeth, unwilling to come to terms with his strange actions.
He had dubious thoughts crossing his mind on what he could have done to punish her. Reluctantly, he let go of her throat and got off her.
