Chapter 55: The First Crisis (1)
AN: Friday chapter failed to upload. Don\'t know why. It\'s now up! Happy reading
Back on the planet, a great disturbance was brewing unbeknownst by the sentients on the planet.
Laeo knelt down and touched the ground tenderly with a serious expression on his face. Laeo is a Lion Lycanthrope that lived in a Savanna biome with a tribe of around 110 others. At this moment, as his long and fluffy tail swished back and forth in worry, a group of 4 other lion people had anxious looks on their faces.
As Laeo waited, the group of lions behind him nervously chewed their nails down to nothing. After a few minutes, Laeo felt a significant pulse of energy transmit power throughout the ground underneath him. Laeo\'s eyes widened in fear and he quickly stood up.
He yelled out,"Hyna! Call out every villager within the tribe! Focks, you go and grab every warrior and scout that is currently out back to the village. You two, go and grab anyone who may not be in the village or who doesn\'t get told by the others. Make sure everyone is there!"
Focks stepped up and asked nervously,"Sir! What is the reason we are convening?"
Laeo roared out at him,\'DO NOT QUESTION MY COMMAND! NOW GO! HURRY!"
Seeing how serious Laeo was, the group hastily ran off to go tell everyone to gather into the village as the chief commanded. Laeo didn\'t waste any time and quickly ran back to his tent where another group of 2 lions and 1 lioness was standing and talking.
As he entered the small tent-like structure, the lioness within quickly asked,"So? What is happening?"
Laeo took a moment to collect his bearings and then said,"God\'s Wrath will explode within the day!"
Everyone instantly had ashen faces when that was said. The Lioness, now extremely alert, quickly turned to one of the lions and said,"Go and grab every villager to the center of town! NOW!"
The other 2 lions had absolutely no complaints and ran as fast as they could to gather everyone as soon as they could. Laeo looked at the large leaf that had been drawn on to depict the local surroundings, and sighed, saying regrettably,"I can\'t believe it\'s over... Am i being punished by the gods for something?"
The Lioness stepped forwards and gave Laeo a strong hug. She quickly responded with,"No! You are the leader of our people! You have done all you can do for them, do not discount yourself! My father said that your potential was unmatched by anyone else, do not let this break your pride!"
He shook his head and once again sighed in disappointment. He replied while burying his face in her fur,"There has to be a reason, your father would always tell me that the gods are fair, but what have we done to gain so much ire from them? I really wish the chief was still here to give me some advice like the old times.."
"I too wish my father was still with us, but we cannot change his fate, just like we cannot change ours the longer we stand here! Laeo, you are a good leader! There must be a reason for this, the gods are mysterious, and we cannot possibly understand their motives, so we can only adapt to the circumstances!" she fervently replied, full of confidence in the mate she chose.
Laeo gave her a passionate kiss and replied,"Thank you. I don\'t know where I would be without you Lia.."
Lia nodded and then the two slowly walked out to the center of the village, where almost all of the lions were now congregating. The scouts and hunters were quickly returning so he didn\'t need to wait too long before everyone was present.
Laeo took a deep breath and then said,"My fellow tribesman, we are facing an unprecedented extinction crisis at this moment."
Everyone instantly started to panic as shouts of fear resounded throughout the alleys of the tribe.
"Oh Gods!"
"What do we do!?"
"We\'re all going to die!"
Laeo put his paw up and said,"Just now I have confirmed massive energy pulses underneath the ground leading to God\'s wrath. I estimate we have less than a day to vacate this area before it\'s drowned in fire!"
"Gods wrath is going to explode?!"
"The gods have forsaken us!"
"Boohoo.."
Lia spoke up as well, saying,"By order of tribe chief Laeo and tribe Chieftess Lia, we now tell you all that we must head north to survive this calamity! Do not bring anything not needed! Bring a weapon, something to warm up with, and some food! We cannot bring anything else! We need to leave within the hour!"
All the lions present had palpable fear in their eyes and everyone quickly went to gather the bare essentials for this migration.
Lia asked aloud,"Do you think it will be enough time?"
Laeo clenched his fist and blood started to faintly drip from his palm. His eyes narrowed and his pride returned, as he said seriously,"I will not let them die under my care. I will make sure every single lion survives, even if I have to sacrifice myself to make that happen!"
Laeo turned towards the large super volcano that had seemed to have started smoking a little bit. "I will make it so! This is not their end, nor is it mine, the Klaw tribe will live on!"
17 hours later..
Laeo and his group had managed to get nearly 70 miles away from the village when suddenly..
"BOOOOOOOOMMM!!!!"
Like an actual angry god had descended, the earth underneath them trembled and quaked from the massive recoil of the explosion.
Lia looked up towards the super volcano and as the ash cloud continued to expand and grow at an extremely alarming rate, whispered aloud,"Gods help us.."
Laeo turned and said the massive plume of smoke rising as well and as his talent felt changes underneath the ground, his eyes widened once again. He turned and screamed over the deafening sound of the still ongoing explosion,"RUN!!"
