Chapter 193 193 - Serpent
Chapter 193 193 - Serpent
But this was not the fate he wanted for himself, and taking a deep breath, he concentrated on observing how that wall of wind was behaving. Time seemed to have stopped in front of him, while his body moved at high speed.
The mana flowing from his chest to his arm was enveloping the sword, carrying away the stone and the circle of wind that was in the center of the hilt guard.
Sighing, he saw that barrier approaching him, and raising the tip of his sword he began to draw his way out. Cutting the wind, Ryan used the skill Wind Slash. And then, the wind barrier split in two.
"Hoh" One of the gorillas grunted, confused. But before he could understand how Ryan was still alive, his head was cut off by a Wind Slash attack.
Four gorillas were decapitated with a single swing of Ryan's sword.
"So you use these group attacks to increase the intensity... That makes sense," he thought, as he watched the gorillas run away to line up for a new confrontation.
Unlike Ryan, these animals couldn't control how their attacks would come out. For this reason, all the gorillas' blows were quick but took a while to recharge, a time Ryan didn't need. By lining up, they could reduce the recharge time and use less mana, as well as intensifying the attack.
Ryan, on the other hand, could make a small layer of wind with more than three hundred times the strength of those barriers. Walking as he swung his sword, he launched the Wind Slash Skill. One after the other, the gorillas were decapitated without having time to run to line up and attack.
When the animals lined up, a single attack was all it took for Ryan to eliminate them all with ease. Running in fear, the smaller gorillas grunted as they tried to escape.
"I already know how you escape," he said, as he launched his attack upwards.
The gorilla that launched itself into the air was cut in half, with two parts thrown more than forty meters in front of it.
<Now we just need to find where the alpha is>
'Probably the alpha will be the biggest, but I'm not finding the females and cubs, he must be in the deepest part of the decline,' concluded Ryan, who began to advance through the forest.
Following the river that fell into the waterfall lake, Ryan found the remains of several gorillas. Those monsters didn't seem to be rational, which made him feel no remorse about eliminating them.
*HOO HOO GRR HOO GRR*
"I found you," said Ryan, who leapt forward. Using wind magic, he launched himself at high speed through the trees. A few meters ahead, he came across a clearing with a gigantic tree cut down the middle.
The alpha wind gorilla had a much brighter greenish color. Its red eyes were glowing with mana, it seemed to be using some kind of power intensification spell. The creature's entire body was surrounded by a flow of wind, and next to it were the females and their young.
<Is he protecting his clan?
"He doesn't seem to have that intention," said Ryan.
The animal grabbed one of the females by the hand; given the difference in size, he was able to carry her with ease. Clenching his fist, he popped her like a tomato. Blood gushed everywhere as Ryan watched in disgust.
<Why did he do that?!> Nyx shouted, indignant.
Lux felt sick to her stomach.
The alpha then let out a smile, revealing his gigantic fangs. He then threw the wind crystal that the female had inside her. Then, with one of his hands, he grabbed five cubs, while with the other he started launching wind attacks towards Ryan.
Dodging easily, Ryan activated his shadow form and appeared a few meters above the alpha's head. Unleashing his sword, he created a whirlwind that crossed the creature's body from side to side.
The monster's body then disappeared, revealing that it was the boss of the dungeon.

"And that's the last one, thanks for helping me collect the crystals," said Ryan, who was looking at Nyx and Lux who were carrying bags full of gorilla core crystals. Those colors seemed to be special, as they were a mixture of the monster core and the air energy core that the monsters possessed.
<Are you going back to the portal now?>
"Well, that's the idea," said Ryan, who was counting the crystals while putting the bags into his inventory.
<Are you really not going to fight the snake?>
Ryan looked up to see the gigantic island moving across the sky. Taking a deep breath, he nodded and said "I'll regret it if I don't explore this island".
Climbing to the top of the island was relatively easy for Ryan, he activated his wings and launched himself there in seconds. The moment Ryan got close, he could already understand how this gigantic island was floating.
The crystals underneath the island were throwing a constant amount of wind downwards. Normally, this should make an absurd noise, but the amount of mana was so great that the momentum was silent and pure.
"The movement of the islands must be a reflection of these crystals," Ryan concluded, as he watched the fragments flying away from the center of the island.
"This place, do you know where it is?" Ryan asked the girls.
Nyx and Lux appeared next to Ryan, and looking at the sky in the area, the girls shook their heads. Nyx denied it, confirming that she didn't know where the place was, while Lux nodded. ]
- I have an idea of how I can guide you here -
"I'm going back here to collect some crystals," Ryan concluded, and the wind began to flow a little more intensely, tossing Ryan's hair back. Opening his eyes wide, his expression changed to one of visible confusion...
Ryan activated his Demon Sight, and now he could see how each of the islands was floating. The truth was that it wasn't just the light wind that was pushing them, but the very mana of each of the trees and creatures in that forest.
The entire flow of energy was making its way from the ground to the islands and flowing to the place Ryan was walking towards. From afar, he recognized the strong smell of rotting meat. An aroma that burned the entrance to his nose as he walked through the forest.
In the center of the main island where he was standing was a cave, but before he could get any closer, the creature came slithering out of it. The flying snake came out of the hole and completely ignored Ryan's presence, flying away at high speed. It took more than two minutes for the creature's body to come completely out.
All the energy in that forest was connected to that snake, that monster was not only the guardian of that region but also one of the significant parts that kept that place in harmony.
"I don't know if I should kill it," he said, as he looked at the snake that was flying away, cutting through the clouds.
<Its mana is stabilizing the islands, if we eliminate this creature it will all collapse. This region doesn't seem to have a stabilized ruin or magic circle.
"So these islands came about naturally... That's so absurd it's funny," said Ryan.
Looking inside the cave, Ryan followed the rotten smell.
There was an absurd amount of mana inside.
'Maybe there are some crystals,' he thought.
But before he could even react, his senses were erased after his ears became aware of an approaching sound.
The gigantic snake had swallowed him at a speed that far exceeded his senses. Ryan's chest had been pierced by the monster's fangs, his heart had been torn apart and most of his chest had been crushed by the creature's bite. In addition, Ryan's body was dragged upwards by the creature, which began to fly while shaking its head from side to side, spurting out the young man's blood.
