Chapter 96 96.BUILDING
No one present had expected such a thing, including Noah. Even for his slow motion perception the building still crumbled faster than he could completely react.
He crashed on the ground, landing perfectly. Such heights couldn't do anything to him. But the scene of a very large ape currently in a brawl with a large centipede terrified him.
Crouching incredibly fast, Noah dodged the hurled body of the centipede, but was also thrown away by the wind current around the centipedes body.
The ape then leaped upwards ready for an attack. Noah immediately got up and ran from the building he had flown into.
The ape raised its massive fists above its head still in the air, then brought it down in a powerful blow.
BOOOOOM!.
Noah had never felt something so powerful before. The ground caved-in as intense shockwaves spread in the environment ravaging most buildings causing destruction in the process.
Noah was sent flying due to the shockwaves, but he managed to make Muliix cover his entire body in that Instant, saving himself, though he wasn't sure about his partners since he couldn't see them due to the cloud of dust that had rose up.
"James!." Noah yelled after he had regained his bearing. The man was only a lower stage tier 2, such shockwaves would kill him if he were to be hit.
No reply came as Noah couldn't but have a dark expression under the black helmet of Muliix.
Though something bright eventually shot out of the cloud of dust, Noah immediately making Muliix disappear at that sight.
Noah watched in slow motion a multicolored ball of what seemed like different elements, shoot out of the dust.
It crashed a few meters from his position, and dispersed exposing a group of seven barely standing humans.
Noah rushed towards them, while ignoring the booms he heard. Luckily the shockwaves had thrown them over a kilometer from the beasts battlefield.
"Are you guys okay?," Noah asked, though he immediately felt stupid for asking such a question, after all he could clearly see that their bodies were in need of serious medical attention.
Everybody simply nodded while Isabella brought out four bottles of healing potions and Moses did the same.
They then drank the bottles contents, relaxed sighs escaping their mouths.
Noah waited a minute or so before anyone could stand. Surprisingly they were all fully healed, but looked drained of mana.
"Won't you drink?," Isabella asked glancing at the last bottle and back at Noah. But seeing that he looked completely fine apart from the blood stains on his clothes, she furrowed her eyebrows and her voice rang out.
"Still drink it, you need to be at your peak in case anything happens." She said turning her attention on the others. Noah simply smiled and did as she said.
Glancing at the panel which said he had gained exp. Noah smiled internally but regretted that he hadn't been able to take the Mana core of the rat. Who knows he could probably sell it and make a lot of money.
Savouring the refreshing feeling the health potion brought, Noah wondered how they were brewed, and promised himself to learn how to do the same, after all learning how to make them could make him money and they would be very useful in a fight.
Eventually everyone was back to their peak physically, but still remained mentally stressed.
Noah scanned the area with his eyes, there wasn't much he could see, but it still felt safe to do so.
His eyes eventually landed on a small brown building. The building didn't really look special in any way, only that it looked stable and wouldn't collapse, though he wasn't too sure about that detail just from looking at it.
Walking closer to the said building, Noah didn't mind the fact that the others followed him, though he didn't really consider himself the leader more like a cooperation between the three of them, while the weaker experts followed.
Running his hand across the buildings wall, Noah felt surprised to realize that it was made or rather seemed to be carved from a brown stone, and it felt sturdy.
The other's did the same and came to a similar conclusions. They all searched for a door but the perfectly square building was brown all through, increasing the difficulty of finding a door.
Though they eventually found it or rather Moses did. He had placed his palm on the building and caused tiny orange lines to spread from it, the orange lines covered the buildings length and breadth until a long rectangular outline was revealed.
Noah shot a questioning gaze at Moses who shrugged, smiled and replied, "What?. I also study inscriptions."
Noah could only shake his head at that point, he too wanted to brag about having knowledge like that.
After the knob-less door had been revealed no one pushed it for fear of what may be inside it, as the building existence didn't really make sense.
Isabella sighed and pushed the door, but she seemed to struggle in that action, so Noah helped her push.
The surprisingly heavy door slowly opened and revealed the inside of the barely 10m tall building. Darkness.
Noah furrowed his brows at that unexpectedly expected sight, spreading his consciousness, he managed to cover the entire space inside the building.
His mental wave brought pictures of what existed inside the building and surprisingly it was only an empty room, though Noah found a small destroyed room, he didn't put too much thought on it.
Taking a step into the building, Noah's nostrils were assulted with the most oldest air he had ever breathed in his entire life.
He immediately used his air manipulation to cause a breeze to enter the building flushing it of its disgusting air.
The other's didn't understand Noah's action until their noses picked up whiffs of the bad air.
Nodding his head in affirmation, Noah walked into the building, the others following him closely.
They could barely see anything past a few meters into the building, only the light from the outside world being the singular source of illumination.
"I can do something about this."
"Let me create some light," James and Moses said respectively, then they nodded at each other to do their thing.
Moses placed his right palm on the wall. Then his left hand drew some weird lines in the air, though nothing appeared, that was until Moses closed his eyes then suddenly a square filled with various lines interconnected intricately in themselves appeared glowing with a bright yellow radiance.
This square of sorts floated in the air for a few seconds, then suddenly it multiplied into two then four, and flew to different parts of the room attaching themselves to the walls, illuminating the building with their bright light.
Noah almost felt like giving a clap, but he refrained from doing so, limiting himself to stare at James who smiled and began his own process.
His right hands index finger lit up with a blue glow on its tip, then James drew a circle, inside the circle he drew multiple other circles, then at the very center of the whole thing he drew a triangle with intricately webbed patterns inside it.
Noah felt at a loss of words seeing that level of precision, he wondered how the young man even saw what he drew.
As soon he was done with that, Noah watched a blue line shoot out of his finger and land on the triangle. Immediately that happened the inscription, though glowing a bit before, lit up in a very bright radiance, then it doubled and floated to two sides of the room and attached theirselves to the wall.
Noah felt speechless at that sight, so did the others apart from Moses and Isabella.
"Nice nice. Though you seemed to have infused too much Mana into the core inscription, you need a few lessons in some other places, but overall it's very good." Moses commented with a smile.
While James simply nodded and smiled in response.
After the light show of sorts, the group settled down, though they remained vigilant since their weapons were still out in the open, ready for any situation.
Muffled explosions continued to resound in the area, but it didn't get too close to the building.
Everyone sat in silence, waiting for the building to be blown open, but such never occurred.
Noah thought of starting a conversation, but decided against it. They were still potential opponents after all. Though he doubted anyone would want to fight him after he had killed two tier 3 beasts.
The dead and suffocating silence broke when their hand bands lit up.
