Chapter 370 370. RUNNING

"So you need another batch?" Elias spoke from across a counter while focusing on Noah's figure.

"Yes, and I will like it pretty much now," Noah replied without sounding excited or anything, he still had calculations going on in his head.

"But I don't have up to seventy-seven," Elias revealed with an apologetic expression. "I currently only possess sixty. But if you can wait a few days I can get everything prepared." He added trying to find a solution.

"Nah, don't worry. I'll take the sixty as they are, as I'm in a rush," Noah explained with a shrug. He had not seen Elias in almost five months, and the expert had barely changed during that period, but the merchant had immediately noticed the changes Noah had undergone, and the most evident one was his power.

Noah now felt stronger to the expert's senses.

"If you say so," Elias replied and allowed Noah to walk past the counter.

"How did you get so strong in such little time," Elias found himself starting a conversation. But how couldn't he? It was known that it took years to properly advance through the third tier and achieve the fourth one.

But the young man before him had shot to the next stage and was already feeling dominating in mere months.

"Tell me your secret," Elias added with a chuckle, even if he meant it.

"I kill beasts," Noah replied with his own chuckle. It felt comical to him that truly that was all he did to achieve the power he had.

Needless to say, however, Elias burst into laughter a moment after. He didn't know why he laughed as hard as he did, but he did.

"You're a funny man," the merchant commented arriving at the large room.

"If you say so," Noah shrugged focusing on the space before him.

Elias waved his hand a big heap of animal carcasses, still looking fresh unfolded in both their eyes.

"They are the same price as last time, so you don't have to worry," Elias explained, and Noah did the needful.

A small brown bag appeared on his palm at some point and he passed it to Elias. The young expert opened the bag and felt a wave of satisfaction hit him.

"What have you been doing the past few months?" Elias couldn't but ask beginning to see the man named Aiden in a new light.

"Nothing much really," Noah chuckled lightly before waving his hand and storing the beast in his inventory. He had paid the sum of 27 gold coins for all sixty beasts.

Noah quickly left Elias's establishment and was faced with a new challenge. How would he leave the guild without a flying beast?

He had the idea of jumping down but wasn't sure he was ready for such. He could hitch a ride with any of the individuals flying out of the city, but he didn't want to owe anyone. And also wanted to avoid questions based on where he was going.

Before coming to Elias', he had branched at the guild hall and had a chat with Lina. Surprisingly she was always there.

He had asked for directions to a region with many magical beasts. And she had given him a map. The map carried information based on the mana density of those regions and what type of beasts were to be expected.

He had four locations in total; not too far from the guild's position even if they were hundreds of miles away.

All four of them were different as only one was even a forest.

'I guess jumping it is,' Noah concluded. He had all the skills to help himself reach the ground safely. He would just teleport when he jumped.

With his decision made Noah began his walk towards the pit, he had not been to before. There were four of them in the inner region.

He arrived there and stood in the queue featuring magical beasts and his figure caught the sight of many.

"Where to please?" The man in charge of his line spoke, and Noah showed the individuals his first destination and the expert felt compelled to raise his head in surprise.

"You have no flying beast," the man commented still in surprise.

"Yes," Noah replied. "I find no need for one," He added as confident as he could.

Clearing his throat, the man opened his mouth to speak. He had seen many confident individuals like the white-haired man voice those exact words, and he had learned to come to terms with it.

"You're journeying to a dangerous environment, it would be foolish not to have any beasts on your side. Nevertheless, I won't stop you. I only hope you return In one piece," the higher-stage expert explained.

"I will," Noah reassured, his tone exuding an astonishing amount of confidence.

"What is your name, young man?" The man asked.

"It's Aiden," Noah immediately replied.

"Well, I hope to see you alive again. Aiden," the expert commented and allowed Noah walk straight into the pit.

Taking a deep breath, Noah let himself go and plunged into the darkness of the pit.

Pitch blackness surrounded him for who knew how far. But he didn't care.

The light of teleportation enveloped him and he found himself falling into his cultivation room, from its top. However, rather than allow himself land, he teleported again, but this time land surface expanded around him for miles. He had blinked to that spot in the sky without stopping.

Noah continued to roll mid-air while he plunged to the ground still at least a kilometer below him. However, he felt no fear at that scene. It was the opposite even.

A smile shone on Noah's face as freedom followed his mind again. He would be undisturbed by anyone for a while now, and he had forgotten how it felt.

At some point, he felt the city's force wrap around him and begin to slow down his movement, but it eventually let go of him when falling from that height wouldn't kill him.

A dense platform of wind condensed beneath his foot immediately Noah sensed gravity's pull intensify.

He created a spiral staircase for his descent at that point. Perks of having better understanding of his control over the elements.

Placing the sole of his black boots on the dried-up ground of that region, Noah had long since created a barrier of coldness around his body to combat the heat that place gave off.

He unfolded his consciousness at some point taking a moment to admire the crusty brown land that surrounded him for miles. The place was a proper wasteland. He doubted anything could grow under that heat.

His gaze eventually landed in a direction, and yellow strands of electrical currents didn't hesitate to run along his clothes as he prepared for a sprint.

Noah kept his empowerment to the minimum, but even at that; a vast amount of power coursing through his veins. He felt on fire, but cool at the same time.

Noah took a step forward with the intention of running, and that single step turned into hundreds more in an instant.

Due to the color of that region being brown, the yellow streak he created with his movements could barely be seen.
