Chapter 564 564. SCOUT
"This is actually nice," Noah muttered to himself whilst he walked down a certain passageway. Well-lit and finely adorned.
It resembled something straight out of a palace, and the truth was the building which had been kept underground, truly was a palace of sorts.
Pete and two others walked behind him and Erolia's vibrant figure. Davis, Cora, and seven others had went deep into the place.
Noah could feel the gazes of the three behind him, and Erolia would be the reason for that event, but he addressed them not. Going on into the hall they had found.
It possessed a long table and a series of chairs able to accomodate 40 individuals. The long table had been covered with a fine silver cloth and the chairs looked as stylish as something from the house of nobility.
Apparently, it was one of the many locations the knights of the royals reclined at when their mission wasn't too far. Of course, only certain permitted individuals could even be given access to it.
They all sat and a strange silence befell the now 14 individuals. Erolia sat right next to Noah, and the sheer amount of beauty and handsomeness both possessed respectively made those experts tremble inwardly.
They resembled quite well what the children of gods would look like. Breathtaking. Noah was already a lot to handle in public, but now that there was a child, entering the city without causing a commotion would be more difficult than anticipated.
"Speak," Noah commanded at some point. Davis had been staring for too long. He didn't feel uncomfortable but wanted to know what the man thought.
"Uh…" His words faded away for a moment as his gaze landed on Erolia's figure. "You brought a girl with you… surely we're curious." The expert played it safe than simply relaying his question as bluntly as possible.
"Yes," Noah responded sweeping his gaze on those experts, they listened attentively.
"I thought you'd have connected the dots seeing as my bird had disappeared," he continued and saw surprise appear on the faces of Davis and a few others. Pete cringed at that point, he had not been able to tell them anything.
Notwithstanding, they got the message since their gazes flickered with realization, and their eyes further widened.
"You mean…." Davis spoke and Noah nodded.
"Yes, I mean what I meant. This is Erolia," Noah announced and they gasped before falling silent.
"Yes, it's me," Erolia giggled waving her hand still gladdened by her state, she had not gotten the chance to see herself in a mirror, so she truly hadn't realized what magnitude her beauty had reached.
Those experts focused their gazes on her at that point, her smile caught them by surprise. She remained both adorable and terrifyingly pretty.
"I'm not a big bird anymore… at least for now," she gestured by flapping her two arms. Those simple movements looked gracious and her wide smile seemed to blind them.
Another struggle against his emotionless state occurred, and this led Noah to stroke his chin a bit.
"Oh… I… I see," Davis stammered taking a deep breath and exhaling. Just how many surprises would they get in less than a day? First, his bird could speak. Now it could assume a human form. What next? They wondered.
"Well yes," Noah spoke, waving his hand dismissively. He still wanted them to get used to his surprises.
They all fell silent once again.
"We're not expecting the royals until about half a day," Cora spoke, breaking the silence and making everything serious again.
'What should we do?" She asked Davis even if she wished Noah answered the question.
"Wait?..." Davis replied, genuinely uncertain. He found no reason to move about. The group sent by the royals would arrive not too long from then.
"We can understand the layout of this building. It's pretty big and well kept… there might be some interesting items, " Kevin suggested, pulling their eyes to his figure and eyebrows rose on some of their faces.
"Are you suggesting we steal from the royals?" Lora arced her eyebrows the highest, glaring at him from across the table. She and Kevin had a thing ongoing. Her words could quickly put the man in a frantic state.
"Ah… no!… of course not… That's dangerous..." Kevin's tone remain unconvincing, but those experts kept their comments to themselves.
"I and Erolia will scout the city beforehand," Noah announced drawing their attentions from the lying man.
His words put worry on their faces, but he spoke before anyone could.
"Don't worry. We'll make sure to enter unnoticed. I only want to check if the information given to us was accurate. We'd have to do this at some point. Why not now when the other party isn't present yet."
Noah's explanation couldn't help but sound right in the ears of those experts. They had been asked to be careful around the group from the royals. It was far easier to do such things when they had not arrived.
Still, that didn't stop them from worrying. They wondered how he'd get in without being noticed.
Everyone had long noticed the insane speeds he could achieve, it made him almost untouchable in a battle. Nevertheless, it was usually explosive, even more so for his bird. Or human. They weren't even sure which was which.
"The worst that can happen is that I don't get to participate in the general mission. The assassination will still need to feature me." Noah explained, standing. Erolia did the same.
"You're going now?… But we just arrived…" Cora furrowed her brows getting up. She found his idea completely smart, but she didn't like it anyway.
"Better early than not. You don't have to worry. I'll be… quick." Before anyone could respond a white light flashed from his figure. He and Erolia disappeared at that point, leaving those experts hanging.
"Was that his try at a joke?…" Jenna commented, looking disturbed, and Cora could only nod her head with a hum as an answer. She sat down soon after and it took them a while to finally decide on something to do.
