Chapter  627. LINGUA FRANCA

Chapter  627. LINGUA FRANCA

The regions were silent but breathtaking. He had stumbled upon a relatively small forest that featured trees whose leaves glowed an azure shade, lighting up that area in one spectacular light show.

That would not be the only beautiful detail, however. Rivers that shone with vibrant green shades and hills that had blue veins pulsing at their base and top.

The flora of those regions spoke of the high mana density. Cusk could not come close to that level of beauty. And this was the world being effortlessly breathtaking!

The various shades coming from the world below more than made up for the starless and moonless night sky.

It didn\'t take too long for his eyes to fall on the light of a settlement. A city.

Noah descended at that point, at least to a certain altitude. The moment he ran mere meters above the surface; erratic strands of the discharge from his movement made contact with trees and they exploded, leaving charred lower portions.

His mere movement had become dangerous for the environment. This further made Noah yearn for the realm outside the fourth tier.

Not too long again and the sole of his boots touched the soil of that region.

"I should probably get rid of this flashy outfit," Noah muttered to himself and did as he suggested.

In less than a minute he had a simple black robe on. There was no remedy for his hair, so he simply tied it in a ponytail. A part of the robe had a face cover which he put on and was essentially ready to go.

Noah stepped forward and his figure blinked through the environment to reach a location a few kilometers from his former position.

The city was closer now and he found elaborate pathways. The closer he got to the settlement the more the trees started to recede and soon there were only strange pillars standing erect on the sides of the roads that led to the city\'s entrance. At least one of its entrances.

The scenery was desolate and silent. Noah could inspect those structures, but they were carved out of ordinary stone. They exuded nothing that could interest him. There weren\'t even engravings that would do much to capture his attention. The only purpose for their existence seemed to be for the sake of details or something.

\'Maybe they had too much money on their hands,\' he wondered.

Noah raised his head and clicked his tongue at some point. He moved again, generating a streak as he closed the gap between that place and the city\'s walls.

"Finally," he muttered through the material that covered half of his face.

Noah\'s silver gaze fell on the source of light that had been calling him from the distance.

A tall cobalt-blue wall unfolded before his eyes. Despite its considerable height, the wall could not hide the boisterous city that seemed to be set on a massive hill since buildings spiraled upwards toward the very top of the hill.

Miles upon miles of land area stretched forth and the various lights being produced by the inhabitants of that city lit the night sky.

It was beautiful, to say the least.

Noah lowered his gaze and found a trail of individuals, or parties of individuals descending from the sky to begin their march toward the city.

All the pathways he had seen earlier converged to become one large road that led straight to the gate.

\'I didn\'t know we could fly. At least till this point,\' he thought to himself suddenly wondering if anyone had caught sight of his streak. It didn\'t matter, though. He attained a level of strength that made him lack fear for certain things.

Noah joined the queue and it felt rather nostalgic seeing as that mode of gaining access to cities was still utilized even in that nation.

The chatter coming from the relatively long line quickly got to him. And for the first time in a while, Noah felt at a loss.

"A different language?" He muttered to himself as the world seemed to stretch in his eyes. That realization shook him.

"Syst-"

[[You don\'t need to ask]]

She responded even before he could speak.

[Analyzing Lingual database…]

[Analyzing complete]

[Language found in system\'s database]

[Zhemin]

[Lingua franca of the Papine nation]

[Host will now undergo Lingual update…]

Noah felt his mind buzz at that point, but he remained calm.

As he stepped forward in the line; the chatter of those men and women coming off as inordinate and unintelligible, he felt a stream of what he could only describe as raw knowledge or understanding flow into his mind and something seemed to click in his head mere seconds after.

Noah blinked in realization. The words whooshing past him had gained proper meaning in his mind. Shock and amazement filled his head. The system and its handy abilities managed to put a smile on his face.

He could understand the words being thrown about as though he had never not understood them.

"This is amazing," he muttered to himself, and he realized that even his speech had changed too. He spoke like them.

"Erolia?" He called.

"I understand too," she responded with as much awe as him.

Anytime they wanted to, they could switch to their initial language.

"How wide is your lingual database?" Noah could not but ask.

The system chuckled.

[[You couldn\'t begin to comprehend it. There are languages here only gods understand]]

"I\'d love to learn one of those," Noah quickly replied staring a the screen before him with interest. The letters displayed by the system had equally changed. He still understood them.

"Your access level is low." The system responded in a blank tone, but this time around a silver screen did not pop up.

"How long have you been remain as a voice in my head?!"

"Uh… Forever?"

"And you\'re just doing that now? Do you know how awkward it is to both hear and read the same words spoken to you?"

Another chuckle unfolded in his mind and he sneered. Their inward banter continued until Noah arrived before the individuals standing guard outside the gate.

He had seen them the moment he arrived, but now that he stood up close, he could inspect those 8-foot-tall armored men.
