Chapter 45 - 45: Is It possible that I Captured Him Because He

If it weren’t for the prior knowledge gained through the Sin Radar, Su Xuan probably wouldn’t have recognized that this guy was a pickpocket. What made it even more awkward was that even if he knew the identities of these guys, he couldn’t just take action in front of so many people.
Not to mention the sheer number of people here, but there were also multiple criminals. Even if he decided to act, he needed to know whether they had stolen any evidence from other people. If he approached and detained someone without evidence or them having committed any crime, it would be impossible.
The best approach was to wait for them to act, to catch them red-handed. That way, they would have the stolen items on them, making it a clear case of catching them in the act.
Sighing at the situation, SuXuan refrained from taking direct action. Instead, he pretended to be like the other passengers, idly scrolling on his phone, occasionally glancing outside.
His gaze swept over the changing train schedules above and then back to his phone. To any observer, he appeared as a regular passenger waiting for his train.
However, his eyes remained fixed on the radar in front of him. All the dots within fifty-five meters of him were within his sight, especially the slowly moving red dots.
It seemed as if they were searching for the easiest targets. As those red dots gradually sped up their movements, Su Xuan’s gaze settled on one red dot that was moving slowly.
He followed this dot with a casual glance and found a pickpocket in a black jacket with a duckbill cap and earphones. He looked like a trendy young man.
Chewing gum casually, he strolled past a woman, but his gaze was locked onto her backpack, which was partially unzipped, exposing its contents for all to see. Most likely, the woman hadn’t closed the bag properly after taking something out.
This exposed the bag s contents to everyone’s view, and this was probably why the pickpocket was interested in her. Clearly, the woman was his next target!
Su Xuan’s mind raced with understanding. He knew that the pickpockets on this train had managed to evade capture for so many years because they only struck when there were few witnesses around.
Even if they had identified their target, they wouldn’t act immediately. Usually, they preferred to strike when there were fewer people around, or they chose locations like the restroom entrances to avoid surveillance cameras.
So, the reason this woman became their target was twofold. Eirstly, the valuable items peeking out from her bag were enticing enough. Secondly, she seemed like an easy target.
With so many people present, the criminal had singled out this woman. Su Xuan wondered, was he somehow sure that she would use the restroom?
Curiosity aside, he maintained his focus on the criminal, ready to pounce the moment he made a move.
Sure enough , not long after, the woman pulled out her train ticket, checked the time, glanced at the display board, and then hoisted her bag, heading toward the restroom.
She was clearly planning to freshen up before boarding.
At that moment, the pickpocket in the black jacket suddenly quickened his pace, following closely behind the woman toward the restroom.
As they passed the corridor leading to the restroom, it was the least crowded area because of its privacy, devoid of surveillance cameras.
The man in the black jacket had long strides, effortlessly closing the gap with the woman. Su Xuan followed closely behind, watching intently.
The man in the black jacket, as he passed the woman, placed his hand lightly on her bag. Then, with two fingers, he deftly plucked something out.
It was a swift and seamless operation. In the next moment, the man had retrieved a delicate piece of jewelry from the bag, casually aiming to stuff it into his jacket pocket. He picked up his pace, overtaking the woman and heading toward the men’s restroom.
However, just as he was about to withdraw his hand from the jacket pocket, someone suddenly grabbed his arm, forcibly extracting it from the depths of the jacket. Before he could react, a silver bracelet was fastened around his wrist.
The man in the black jacket was dumbfounded. How had he been caught right after his successful theft?
It occurred to him that the plainclothes officer who had apprehended him might have been watching all along, waiting for him to act before swooping in for the arrest.
This was highly possible!
Damn it! This was incredibly sly!
These pickpockets had been brazenly operating at the train station for years, and no one had ever managed to catch them. Even undercover police officers were usually detected by them. Today, it was unexpected that they would finally be caught!
As he felt the silver handcuffs secure his wrist, the man in the black jacket knew that he was in deep trouble. He may have been caught right after stealing, but he was determined to find out who had managed to nab him.
Even if he was going to meet his end, he wanted to go out with clarity in his mind.
“Don’t move,” the arresting officer warned sternly. “Stay put!\'”
Su Xuan pressed down on the man’s shoulder and turned his hand, the one already handcuffed with a silver bracelet, behind his back. He then secured his other wrist as well.
He pulled the man to the side and crouched down.
The woman who had her belongings stolen watched the scene with curiosity. As she passed by, her gaze lingered on the two of them.
“What in the world… doing this in broad daylight?” she exclaimed. “It’s thrilling!”
Su Xuan was left speechless by her comment. He could hardly believe the audacity of her thought process. In the end, he could only respond with a sigh, “Miss, should you check if anything is missing from your bag first?”
“I just saw him hovering around your bag,’1 she added.
Only then did the woman finally grasp the situation. She instinctively picked up her bag and was astonished to find that the zipper was open.
“Why is my bag…” she mumbled, then hastily started rummaging through it, her expression growing anxious.
“Oh my! Where’s my necklace? It was made of three types of gold, a gift for my daughter-in-law!” she exclaimed. “How could it disappear…’1
Hearing her words, Su Xuan couldn’t help but twitch the corner of his mouth. He spoke up, “Miss, is there a possibility that…”
“I apprehended this guy because he stole your necklace?’’ he finished.
Upon hearing this, the woman immediately turned her attention to Su Xuan, her eyes glimmering with hope, “Is that true?”
It’s true,” Su Xuan nodded.. “It’s even more valuable than pure gold!
