Chapter 285 - Chapter 285: Everything That Comes Out Of Lin Wan ‘s Mouth Is The Truth!
Li Zexuan headed to the pigsty.
The food in the pig trough was almost empty. There was some vegetable porridge left in the trough. It seemed the pigs’ food looked more appetizing than his bowl of noodles.
He looked at the pig. “I am so sorry for lowering the quality of your food, but I can’t eat this. Please eat this. I will give you something delicious next time.”
He poured the noodles into the trough. The pigs gathered around and ate with great relish.
“You like it?” asked Li Zexuan as he looked at the pigs. “That’s great! You all stink. I will go now. Goodbye.”
When Li Yanchen and Lin Wan woke up, they found only Li Zekai in the other room.
“Daddy, I’m hungry.” Li Zekai had woken up early and had found his brother gone. He had gone outside to look around for him but hadn’t found him anywhere. In the end, he returned to his room and read a book.
Lin Wan took out a vacuum pack of rice cake and a can of milk that she had brought from home. “Snack on this for now. I will cook some porridge.”
“You sit with him. I will do it,” said Li Yanchen as he blocked her way. “Do you want sweet potatoes too?”
“Yes!” said Li Zekai. “Auntie Lin, you can come with me. We can sit in the courtyard. The wind is nice today.”
Lin Wan washed her face, put on some light makeup, and went to the courtyard. She picked a book of fairy tales to read to Li Zekai.
After feeding the pigs, Li Zexuan washed up in the nearby well. He then made his way back to his house. When he approached the courtyard of his house, he heard his brother reading aloud.
‘Wow… are they training Li Zekai from such a young age? He will turn out to be a real university nerd at this rate,’ thought Li Zexuan.
Although Li Zekai was in his second year of primary school, he had a weak vocabulary. When he came across a word he didn’t understand, he asked Lin Wan to guide her.
Li Zexuan was envious. “Ms. Lin, I want to study with you too!” he said from the gate.
Lin Wan was speechless.
“Brother, I am reading a fairy tale. Do you want to read with me?”
“I brought along my own notes on Classical Chinese.” Classical Chinese was Li Zexuan’s biggest weakness when it came to academics.
“Big brother, you can go in and continue with your studies then. Don’t disturb me.” Li Zekai was motivated to read his book of fairy tales with Lin Wan.
Li Zexuan was at a loss for words.
“The two of you can sit here and study together quietly. Jiejie, when you do your second round of reading, make sure you note down the words that are new and difficult for you. At the end of each story, write a line or two about what you understood from the story.”
Lin Wan turned to Li Zexuan. “Xuanxuan, I wish I could help you, but I do not know Classical Chinese. I have forgotten many of my high school subjects. I am afraid you will have to study them yourself.”
Li Zexuan fetched a dictionary and hurriedly sat beside Lin Wan. “I have a dictionary. You can use this to teach me.”
When the livestream room opened at eight in the morning, the viewers saw the two children engrossed in their books. Lin Wan didn’t want to disturb them. She opened a novel and began to read as well.
[Jiejie and Xuanxuan are actually studying. I forgot they are still students.]
[Aww… this is so heartwarming to watch. Lin Wan is helping them study while
Mr. Li is making breakfast.]
[Lin Wan was also a top student in the past, right?]
Li Yanchen prepared the breakfast and served them bowl after bowl. “Let’s eat first.”
“I want to tell you all something,” said Li Zexuan. He put down his book. “I woke up early to make breakfast for all of you. I tried to cook some noodles, but
I failed at it.”
“Where is it? Don’t tell me you threw the noodles away!” Lin Wan hated it when people wasted their food.
“No, I didn’t throw it. I fed it to the pigs. The pigs were quite happy.”
“Oh, okay. I am glad you didn’t just throw them away. It’s so easy to cook noodles. How did you fail at it?”
Li Zexuan told her that he had cooked the noodles in cold water instead of putting them in after the water had boiled. The viewers were amused.
[Xuanxuan is so happy that the pigs liked his noodles.]
[I wouldn’t mind being a pig if I could eat food that Xuanxuan cooked personally.]
[Top celebrity feeding the poor pigs. I can already see this making headlines. If there is a video of it, it will end up trending on Twitter again.]
Lin Wan laughed.
Li Zekai covered his nose. “It is no wonder I thought I smelled something stinky when Brother Xuanxuan walked in from the gate. So, you went to feel the pigs?
“Don’t look down on pigs, ” said Lin Wan. “A pig’s entire body is a treasure when it comes to food.”
[So, Lin Wan loves eating pigs.]
[Lin Wan knows that a lone pig could be used to make so many delicacies.]
[I also suspect Lin Wan’s all-time favorite food is anything made with pork.]
[Xuanxuan actually nodded at that.]
[Hahaha… Everything that comes out of Lin Wan’s mouth is the truth!]
Lin Wan was almost drooling. She really missed the braised pork and pig trotters she used to eat occasionally in her original world. There was no shortage of pigs in this world, too. However, she hadn’t experienced the same taste in the restaurants of this world and their pork dishes like the ones she had in her original world.
“Auntie, you are drooling.” Li Zekai pointed at the corner of Lin Wan’s mouth.
Even Li Zexuan was almost drooling.
“We can’t cook delicious meat here. I know! I will find Auntie Nia!” Li Zexuan got up to go to Xiao Yi’s house once again.
“You’re not eating?” Li Yanchen set the bowls and chopsticks on the table.
“I’ll be back soon to eat. I need to do something first.” Nothing was more important for Li Zexuan right now than to find someone who could cook delicious meat so Lin Wan could have a bit.
To remind everyone of their task that day, a horn sounded. They were all supposed to gather at the vegetable field at ten in the morning to plant some vegetables.
Li Zexuan arrived at Xiao Yi’s house.
“Xuanxuan, you’re here. Xiao Yi is brushing his teeth and washing up. Come, let’s have breakfast together,” said Xia Mo.
“Auntie Xia, dad made porridge for breakfast so I have to go soon. I am just here to ask you if Ms. Lin and I could freeload a meal during lunch at your house. Ms. Lin is craving some pork.”
Xia MO was speechless. “Lin Wan is craving meat so early in the morning?
“Yean,” said Li zexuan. “Can we come’ I Will Drmg over some snacks In exchange. I brought a lot from home.”
“No need. Just come over at lunch. I brought a lot of fresh and smoked meat.
They are all pork.”
“Thank you, Auntie. I’m going home now. We will be here for lunch.” Li Zexuan returned home happily.
[I suggest for the Li family and the Xiao family to just merge into one, at this point.]
[They would make a big, happy family!]
[Is it only me or did Xuanxuan say only he and Lin Wan will be there for lunch?
Did he abandon his father and his little brother just for some food?]
[Hahaha… He and Lin Wan represent the whole family.]
[I think Xuanxuan means that he will follow in Lin Wan’s footsteps, not Mr.
Li’s. Hahaha…]
[Just another day where Mr. Li is left out and abandoned.]
[Mr. Li, you should go on a protest. Make it clear you want to be treated better, or you won’t turn up in the next episode.]
[If Mr. Li hears about what Xuanxuan said, would he pull his son’s ear in disdain?]
[No. Mr. Li is a very civilized and classy person. He won’t resort to something like that. At most, he will protest. Protest is more effective.]
[Teacher Xia must be feeling really burdened. Not only does she have to cook for Xiao Tianlin and Xiao Yi, but now the other family is going to freeload at lunch.]
[I just watched Xiaoxiao’s livestream. Go and have a look at Xiaoxiao’s breakfast.]
Several viewers switched to Xiao Yi’s livestream room at the behest of one of the comments.
Zhou Pei had made breakfast. She had even strictly weighed the slices of bread for their nutritional requirements.
The viewers collectively thought that this was just too much. It was too tiring to cook in this manner, where they had to weigh every ingredient of the food to be prepared. Not to mention, the food was bland and unappetizing..
