Chapter 311 - 311: An Action So Heinous

Xia MO and Xiao Tianlin hurriedly helped Xiao Yi take off his jacket and found him a new change of clothes.

They thought they had faced their share of terror and struggle in their lives, but this was something else. They were frightened.

Ji Hanzhi had single-handedly tried to harm Lin Wan with acid in front of so many people! They couldn’t believe it.

“Xia….” Xiao Tianlin held his wife’s hand.

Xia Mots hands were cold and shaky.

“Old Xiao, I’m so glad Xiao Yi is fine, and Wanwan too…” Xia MO looked at her husband.

Lin Wan was quiet.

“Wanwan, are you alright?” Xia MO asked with concern.

Li Yanchen held Lin Wan to him. He was unwilling to let go of her.

“Yeah… Is Xiao Yi alright?” Lin Wan spoke slowly.

“Yeah. Don’t worry about him. Only his jacket was caught by the acid.

Thankfully, he is fine.”

“If…” Lin Wan’s voice altered. “If it wasn’t for Xiao Yi, I would have been… How could she do that? What did I ever do to her?” Her hands trembled. “What if she tries to attack me again?

“No, Wanwan. I won’t let that happen. I’ve already talked to my lawyer. This time, I’ll make sure she is locked up for a long time. I’m so sorry you had to go through that. She attacked you because of me,” said Li Yanchen regretfully. He recalled that night when he had helped Ji Hanzhi and her children because they had looked so pitiful in the rain. He had never expected her to turn out to be this ruthless. Li Yanchen felt that he should never have tried to help her in the first place.

Lin Wan held onto Li Yanchen. “No, it’s not your fault. You did what was right by helping her that one time. We should always be kind to people in need. You shouldn’t regret helping others. Ji Hanzhi… her conscience has shriveled. Most people know how to be grateful. ”

The staff members and the other guests also came forward to try to comfort Lin Wan and Xiao Yi.

[This is so sad. If people I help turn against me, I would feel so angry and betrayed.]

[Ji Hanzhi is a piece of sh*t.]

[She’s a public figure. She should’ve known better.]

[Yeah. With behavior like this, who would try to help others in the future.]

[Everyone, please don’t think that every person is this ungrateful. Please don’t stop helping others just because of Ji Hanzhi. I don’t think most people are like her.]

[I’m in my 60s. This is the first time I have seen someone like this. If I hadn’t seen this with my own eyes, I wouldn’t have believed it at all.]

[Ji Hanzhi is trending on Twitter.]

[She has attracted too much hate. She is going to be beaten to death if she comes out of jail.]

[She’s such a horrible person. She didn’t even think about her own children.

What will happen to Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan?]

[I feel like this will have a lot of negative impact on her children. When Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan grow up and understand what their mother did, will they accept her?]

The internet was filled with hate for Ji Hanzhi.

After a while, the guests left the village one by one.

On the way home, Lin Wan squeezed into the seat between the two kids.

“Aunt Lin, you must be frightened. I’ll do everything to protect you in the future,” said Li Zekai even though he was scared out of his wits.

“Yeah. Don’t go out alone from now on. Tell Assistant Qin. He will drive you wherever you want to go. Or I can come with you too,” said Li Zekai.

Lin Wan nodded.

The other families discussed the incident in their own cars.

Ning Xiaoxiao’s family was shaken. Zhou Pei was particularly scared for her daughter. She wondered if a crazy fan would do something similar to Ning Xiaoxiao.

In the hospital, Ji Hanzhi lay on the bed in despair. Her wound had been treated urgently. The doctor had said that parts of her face were damaged and would definitely leave a scar.

She stared up at the ceiling. She should’ve been celebrating her victory right about now. Instead, she was at the hospital with her face ruined! That wasn’t even the worst part. After this, she would be punished by law.

She had been so close! Lin Wan had been standing right in front of her. If she had succeeded in attacking Lin Wan, Ji Hanzhi wouldn’t have minded going to jail, but now, everything was over! Why was she always the one getting hurt?

The window of the hospital ward was sealed. Perhaps they were afraid Ji Hanzhi would take her own life by jumping out of the window.

Lulu called her relentlessly.

After a dozen calls were ignored, Lulu texted Ji Hanzhi.

“Hanzhi, Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan are waiting for you at home. You promised them that you’d be back tonight. Which hospital are you at? I’ll bring them over to see you. They refuse to go to bed without you.”

Lulu was afraid that Ji Hanzhi would do something stupid. She wanted to remind her that she still had her children with her. Anything was better than Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan losing their mother.

“Hanzhi, it’s okay. Just reply. You made a mistake. We’ll fix it, okay? You’re still young, and you still have your children. You can start over. Please reply. Just say something! Or just tell me which hospital you’re in. I’ll ask Minmin to take care of Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan and come there to be with you. I know you’re not a bad person. You lost your way for a while. But we can start over! I’ll help you.”

Ji Hanzhi stared at the message. Starting over sounded hopeful, but she no longer had that luxury. Since the start of that show, Ji Hanzhi had slowly

spiraled out of control. She now had no way of picking up the pieces.

Ji Hanzhi looked at the bottle of medicine on the bedside table. She wanted to swallow the tablets, but she knew that this was a hospital, and she wouldn’t be left alone to die.

She felt exhausted and didn’t want to live anymore. She didn’t want to think about Tuan Tuan and Yuan Yuan. It made her feel even more tired.

In Yun City, as Li Yanchen and the others arrived home, Auntie Huang ran to open the door for them. She checked every inch of Lin Wan to make sure she wasn’t injured. Mrs. Zhou, who lived next door, had called her to inform her that someone had attacked Lin Wan during the show.

She had wanted to call Lin Wan immediately, but she held back. She felt apprehensive the whole afternoon and waited for them to get home.

After confirming that Lin Wan was okay, Auntie Huang finally allowed herself to calm down. She then went to prepare dinner.

Li Zexin knew that his family would return today from the show, so he had directly rushed home after school. He didn’t know what had happened. “Ms. Lin!” he said as he entered the house. ‘You’re all back!”

Li Zekai ran to his brother in his little slippers. “Brother Xinxin, you’re here!”

Li Zexuan had gone to his school after reaching so he missed Li Zexin’s arrival.

Lin Wan and Li Yanchen saw Li Zexin enter from the main door. “The entire neighborhood can hear you shouting. What a disturbance!” said Lin Wan jokingly..
