Chapter 375 - 375: Jealousy
After a few glasses of wine, Li Yanchen was already tipsy. This was the first time Lin Wan had seen him drink so much. She wanted to drink on his behalf, but he stopped her.
Lin Wan had only seen Li Yanchen drink red wine before. She had no idea he could hold his liquor so well.
If Li Yanchen acted crazy after being drunk, wouldn’t he embarrass himself in the livestream? Lin Wan was worried about him.
“Just pretend to pass out,” whispered Lin Wan.
Li Yanchen pretended to burp and leaned on Lin Wan’s shoulder.
It was Lin Wan’s turn to contribute. “Mr. Li is drunk. The viewers are so ruthless. The questions were so harsh. My first love is Mr. Li, but it hurts to think that he might have loved someone else,” said Lin Wan. “Mr. Li drank glass after glass of wine because he didn’t want to make me sad. It’s all my fault for being petty.” She sighed.
[Mr. Li kept drinking because he didn’t want to bring up his past in front of Lin Wan…]
[We kept asking him about his past. Lin Wan must have felt hurt.]
[Lin Wan, you aren’t being petty. It’s the same for me. My boyfriend is my first love, but I’m not his first love. It makes me feel so sad and jealous.]
[We were just curious. We didn’t know that you were so secretive about his past, Lin Wan. We are so sorry. We won’t ask about his past anymore.]
“That’s alright. You all didn’t know either. Let’s start over, alright?” said Lin Wan magnanimously.
Li Yanchen’s head was aching. Even without Lin Wan’s prompt, he was prepared to faint. He was really drunk.
“Mr. Li is down. Ah Ying and Ah Xiong, you two help Mr. Li home,” said the director. He was afraid that the questions might have gone too far.
Lin Wan was already full. “I’ll go too. There needs to be someone to take care of him. What if he pukes or falls from bed?”
Just like that, Lin Wan and Li Yanchen left the meal early.
Li Yanchen was carried back by two brawny men. He was still conscious but was feeling dizzy.
After Ah Ying and Ah Xiong placed Li Yanchen on the bed at the house, Lin Wan thanked them and bid them goodbye.
After the two left, Li Yanchen tried sitting up. “Wanwan, help me tidy my hair!”
Li Yanchen was drunk and dizzy, but he still needed to care for his image in front of the camera.
“You’re really drunk?” Lin Wan poked Li Yanchen’s cheek gently.
‘Yes.”
“You said it’s only a few glasses! How did you get drunk so fast?”
Li Yanchen felt frantic at her words. He struggled to get out of bed. He clutched at the sides of the bed and tried to raise his head but fell back down.
“I can do it!”
His mind was clear, so why wasn’t his body listening to him?
Lin Wan pulled the blanket over him. ‘It seems he is really drunk. If he keeps drinking, he might just die…’
“Seriously, though, why couldn’t you just lie?” asked Lin Wan. ‘When they ask if your first time was in high school, you could have just said no. That it happened when you were an adult!”
Li Yanchen muttered and mumbled at her. He then fell asleep after a while.
On the western fields, the game was still going strong. Su Wei’s answer made him trend on Twitter twice.
When the staff heard Su Wei’s truthful answers to the scandals he was involved in, they could feel his stress.
The director wanted to continue because this game was really popular with the viewers, but he was afraid Su Wei’s answers might have an impact on a lot of things.
Whenever the needle stopped at Su Wei, everyone had ruthless questions ready to fire.
[Su Wei said that he doesn’t reject same-sex relationships. Is there someone near him who is like that?]
Su Wei was about to say yes, but the camera went black!
The viewers left plenty of comments after that.
[The Festival Group is so insufferable! Would the world have ended if they had ended the live broadcast a minute later?]
[I think there are too many dirty secrets in the industry. I think they cut the broadcast because they were afraid Su Wei might reveal something controversial.]
“The game is over. Thank you for your time. You can continue with your meal.
If you are finished with your meal. you can take a walk.” said the director.
The guests didn’t know how to express what they felt. At first, the questions had seemed very daunting, but after a while, they had begun to enjoy themselves.
“If everyone enjoyed the game, we can have another round tomorrow at noon,” said the director.
The guests shook their heads.
“I think once was enough,” said Xiao Tianlin. “Brother Michael, Teacher Zheng, Coach Pei, and Su Wei, you guys continue with your meal. I’m going to go and check on Brother Li.”
“Let’s go together.” Everyone was worried about Li Yanchen.
So, everyone went to the Li family in a large group, as though visiting someone who was really ill.
If Lin Wan didn’t know that Li Yanchen was still half-conscious, she would have thought he had drunk himself to death.
He had fortunately fallen asleep and was snoring softly. He was completely different from his usual refined self.
“Brother Li is asleep.” Xiao Tianlin looked at the person wrapped in the blanket, who was sleeping without a care in the world. He had thought that Li Yanchen was faking it, but it seemed he was really very drunk.
Lin Wan really wanted to chase the people away.
After a while, Li Zexin reached home and saw people by his father’s bedside. “I think it’s time to sleep. Uncles and Aunties, see you tomorrow! You should go and rest too!”
Lin Wan winked at Li Zexin. He was a good son.
Xia MO was the last to leave. Before she left, she patted Lin Wan on the shoulder. “You’ve worked hard.”
Lin Wan smiled.
After everyone left, Lin Wan locked the gates and the doors.
Finally, they were all gone!
Lin Wan washed up and climbed into bed.
She tried to pull the blanket over her, but Li Yanchen had hogged the whole blanket. She had to get a spare blanket and wrap it around her. She glared at Li Yanchen, who was sleeping soundly, and decided to settle scores with him tomorrow.
The next morning, Lin Wan’s cough woke her. The spare blanket was very thin. It was not surprising that she caught a cold.
Li Yanchen sobered up and shook his head dejectedly when he opened his eyes and saw that he was wrapped tightly in the thick blanket..
