Chapter 197 196: Hand Of Death
Corey at first thought that the explosion of the undead giant was probably the strongest attack Triple X could perform, but as Corey gazed at the nonchalant and bored expression of Triple X, he realized just how absurdly powerful Triple X was.
His eyes moved from Triple X to the figure of Automaton lying on the ground. Although most of his body was made of metal, his entire body, including the metal, looked dead.
(A few moments ago)
"Hand of Death"
As soon as Triple X spoke, black lines appeared from his fingertips and he winced slightly. His eyes became much darker and with a cold and detached tone, he spoke:
"Go."
Woosh!
Crack
Crack
The instant Triple X gave the command, the black lines moved at an extremely fast speed, and whatever object the black lines touched, died.
The cracked ground broke apart the more, though this time around, the ground… lost its shine.
Whether it was the ground, an undead or the androids. Everything that was touched by the black lines died. They either cracked apart, fell apart or lost their colors, and Automaton seeing that, had a stunned expression.
"What a sinister and dangerous ability. But.."
Automaton spoke with a surprised tone that contained a tinge of confusion.
'Why did he unleash this attack? It's not like he even aimed it at me.'
Various thoughts ran through Automaton's mind as he tried to think of the reason for Triple X attack. His eyes followed the black lines despite their speed, and approximately two seconds later, his eyes looked at the path of the black lines and as soon as he did that, a light of realization appeared in his eyes which eventually changed to one of extreme shock.
"Shit."
He cursed and without hesitation, he raised his right arm which transformed into a gun. He aimed it at the kneeling Triple X, and a loud bang resounded in the surroundings as a large bullet left the muzzle of his gun hand.
The bullet whistled through the air as it flew towards the head of Triple X, and despite sensing the incoming threat, Triple X had a nonchalant expression as he remained in the same position.
Automaton had cold eyes as he watched the bullet travel towards Triple X, but a second later, his eyes widened as he saw the undead giant appear in front Triple X, and with a heavy grunt, it swung the great sword in its hands.
Clang
A loud clang resounded as the great sword of the undead giant clashed with the bullet shot by the King of Androids.
The muscles of the undead giant tightened as it summoned up all the strength in its body and a few seconds later, it released a roar and swung the bullet back at Automaton.
Automaton calmly dodged the bullet, but a cold expression could be seen on his face as he gazed at the undead giant. His gaze then shifted to the black lines and when he saw its destination, a deep frown appeared on his face which also contained a tinge of frustration and regret.
"This crazy bastard."
Divine mumbled as he gazed at the direction of the black lines, and Corey gave him a brief glance before looking back at the lines, his eyes containing nonchalance at the sight of what was about to happen.
Divine glanced at Corey and he raised his brows slightly.
"You're not going to ask any questions?"
Divine asked and Corey shook his head before replying:
"I have an idea of what X wants to do… It's somewhat predictable."
Divine stared at Corey before chuckling softly. He took in a puff of the cig in his hands and with a smile, he blew it out before gazing at the battlefield once again.
"Well, you're right. It is pretty predictable. But…"
Divine mumbled, then his eyes moved to the section of the Amphitheater which contained the supporters of Automaton.
His gaze then moved back to the black lines of death which was moving straight to the section of Automaton's supporters, and a frustrated but pained light appeared in his eyes.
"My value points."
(Meanwhile, in the section that contained Automaton's Supporters)
"Hey man. Why are those black lines coming to us?"
A man with red spiky hair questioned with a curious tone as he stared at the rapidly approaching black lines of death with intrigue.
"I don't know and I don't care man. I only care about Automaton winning since I placed my bet on Automaton winning. I want more money."
Another man who had a large beard spoke with a nonchalant tone while waving his right hand which held a tobacco pipe.
"But I don't know what that Automaton is doing, he's not attacking The King of the Dead personally. They should stop using their armies and fight against each other."
"They'd be wasting less of my time and would let me know if I can spend more time in the Emporium."
The man with a tobacco pipe spoke with a tinge of dissatisfaction before clicking his tongue. He placed the tobacco pipe in his mouth, inhaled then blew out a puff with a satisfied expression.
"Do you want? This some good shit."
The man offered the tobacco pipe to the man with red spiky hair, and the man removed his gaze from the black lines to the tobacco pipe.
"What's that?"
The man with red spiky hair questioned with a slight furrow of his brows and the man with a tobacco pipe smiled.
"Neon."
A confused expression appeared on the face of the man with red spiky hair, but then he shrugged and took the tobacco pipe from the man with a large beard.
He placed the tobacco pipe in his mouth, then he looked at the extremely close black lines and a worried expression appeared on his face.
"Stop worrying about those black lines man. The barrier in front of us would protect us. I heard that they made this barrier strong enough to withstand the attack of an mid level Mystical Being (Tier 5)."
The man with a large beard spoke with a calm tone as he also gazed at the black lines, but around two seconds later, his eyes widened in shock when he saw the black lines and barrier touch each other.
As soon as the black lines touched the barrier touched each other, multiple cracks appeared on the barrier in an instant. But surprisingly, after the barrier was destroyed just from a touch of the black lines, the black lines paused for a few seconds, confusing every single individual in the audience.
But three seconds later, the black lines multiplied then moved towards every single foolish and arrogant individual like a ravenous beast.
In the blink of an eye, the black lines touched every living being and although a few who were fast enough tried to deploy defensive measures, but despite the deployed defensive measures, the black lines destroyed every defensive measures and touched every single individual.
Corey's brows raised slightly as he looked at how every single individual dropped unto the ground like flies. His gaze then moved to the culprit of the death of over twenty thousand individuals.
The culprit, Triple X, stood then released a tired sigh. His gaze moved towards Automaton who had a dark expression.
"Since your army is twice as large as mine. I decided to at least even the score."
Hearing the words of Triple X which was dripping with nonchalance and detachment, Automaton's gaze moved towards the victims of The Hand of Death.
And a few seconds later, just as Automaton and Corey expected, every single dead individual arose with deep grunts.
"Now. I guess it's time to get slightly serious."
Triple X voice rang out once again and when Automaton looked at Triple X, he noticed a smile on the lips of The King of the Dead, and Automaton's brows furrowed.
