Inside the intensive care unit, Ye Tianxin held her grandmother’s hands.
Her grandmother’s hands were cold, so Ye Tianxin rubbed them between hers to warm them up. Then, she held her grandmother’s hands tightly.
After a long while, Ye Tianxin looked at her grandmother longingly. She had other things to do.
She had to deal with Qin Lili.
She had to deal with Lu Jijun.
She had to deal with them.
Her grandmother had protected her in the past.
Now that she had grown up, it was her turn to protect her grandmother.
With these thoughts, Ye Tianxin walked out of the intensive care unit. A nurse went up to Ye Tianxin and said to her, “Miss Ye, Young Master Li is waiting for you in the conference room.”
“Alright. Thank you.”
The nurse guided Ye Tianxin to the conference room.
Qin Lili saw Ye Tianxin and looked at her as if she had seen a powerful being. Just as she was about to say something, she caught Lu Jijun’s icy glare and stopped.
Lu Jijun looked at Ye Tianxin. He was always bemused whenever he looked at her. It was as if he was seeing Ye Linlang every time he saw Ye Tianxin. Ye Linlang had once been so beautiful, innocent, and pure...
She was like a precious piece of pure jade.
“Mr. Lu, I have a question for you. Am I really your daughter?” Ye Tianxin brazenly asked.
Lu Jijun’s heart beat wildly. He heard himself say, “Of course. Of course, you’re my daughter. I wouldn’t go around acknowledging everyone I see as my daughter, would I?”
“Alright then. Let’s do a DNA test,” Ye Tianxin suggested.
Ye Tianxin decided to take the test while in the intensive care unit. She had to find out the truth. It was actually not that important to her who her father was.
What was more important for Ye Tianxin was not to have anything to do with the Lus anymore.
She did not want to see either Lu Jijun or Lu Qingxin.
“There’s no need, Tianxin. Even if we don’t do the DNA test, you are still my daughter. This is something that cannot be denied.”
Ye Tianxin went up to Lu Jijun. She lowered her head and looked at Lu Jijun’s fair but slightly wrinkled face.
“I am sorry. I don’t want to be your daughter at all.”
Li Qingcang made a gesture, and the doctor quickly drew Ye Tianxin’s blood.
Lu Jijun, however, refused to stretch out his hand.
“There’s no need. I refuse to do a DNA test.”
“That’s not up to you.”
Ye Tianxin gestured for the bodyguards to hold Lu Jijun down. The doctor retrieved blood samples from both Ye Tianxin and Lu Jijun with the help of the guards.
“Expedite the DNA test. It has to be done in two hours.”
Li Qingcang stood up and held Ye Tianxin’s hand, pulling her out of the room.
He did not want to waste two hours of his valuable time on Lu Jijun and his wife.
Even if he had time, he would rather spend it helping Ye Tianxin with her school work.
“Do these questions.”
Li Qingcang handed Ye Tianxin a book with practice questions and looked at his watch. He sat on a sofa by the side and acted as the examiner. Li Xingchen, who only heard the news then, hurried over to where they were. When she arrived, she saw her little brother looking at Ye Tianxin with warmth and gentleness in his eyes.
She had never known that her usually cold-hearted younger brother had such a warm and gentle side to him.
She could not bear to disturb him.
Li Xingchen had already investigated Ye Tianxin’s background. She found out that Ye Tianxin’s mother had gone missing and she never knew who her father was. Meanwhile, her grandmother was critically ill. In other words, Ye Tianxin was a nice girl from a small family.
If her younger brother really liked Ye Tianxin, she would definitely agree to the match.
