Chapter 704 - Joe, who touched my scalpel?
Xie Yi listened silently and couldn’t help but sit up straight. Her expression returned to its usual calm and collected state.
“If none of the top experts in your capital could perform such an operation, then I doubt that this Hand of God could do it. Of course, this is based on the current medical infrastructure. Maybe in a few days, there will be more solutions to current problems with the advancement of medical technology.”
Yan Ge let out a long sigh.
He couldn’t tell Ye Tianxin the news. Otherwise, it would devastate her.
Seeing that Xie Yi spoke in a very formal tone, Yan Ge asked with slight curiosity, “Doctor Xie, where are you from?”
“Can I choose not to answer the question?”
“Yes.”
Despite Xie Yi seeming as cold as ice to Yan Ge, the fact that he was able to deal with some difficult patients with the peacekeeping doctor was enough to make him smile.
The vehicle parked at the gate of the International Medical Camp.
Yan Ge took a bottle of chili sauce and some capital delicacies from the car and passed them to Xie Yi.
“Doctor Xie, here are some delicacies from our country. Please, have a taste.”
Xie Yi didn’t accept the items. She simply said, “Thank you very much, I appreciate the gesture.”
Yan Ge held the paper bag in his hands. He didn’t know where he should put it. After thinking for a moment, he placed the paper bag near Xie Yi’s feet.
“Doctor Xie, these aren’t worth much, but please accept them as a token.”
After finishing speaking, Yan Ge drove off and left the international medical camp. Yan Ge felt relieved when he saw Xie Yi picking up the paper bag from the rearview mirror.
At noon, he noticed Xie Yi had finished eating all the hotpot dishes that he packed.
He thought she might also like spicy food. ‘I hope these specialties of the empire, thank you for being able to eat them happily.’
Xie Yi returned to the International Medical Camp with the paper bag. As soon as she arrived, she noticed that her computer and scalpel had been moved.
“Joe, who touched my scalpel?”
Joe was the anesthesiologist who had previously operated on Tianxi. He heard Xie Yi speaking and walked over to her.
“Hey, Xie. It was a young girl. She borrowed your scalpel today and skillfully performed a successful C-section.”
Xie Yi never liked when people touched her own items. She furrowed her eyebrows in disapproval and said, “What C-section?”
“Two empire peacekeepers came in today with a pregnant woman while you were out. I didn’t know how to perform this surgery, so the peacekeeper had to do it herself. She didn’t seem to be experienced in the procedure either, so we had to use your computer for a video call. Luckily, the operation turned out to be very successful...”
Xie Yi proceeded to disinfect her hands with a sanitizer and walked over to the ward camp.
The mother was still asleep since the anesthetic effect had not worn off yet.
The mother’s two children kept close to her, with one on each side.
There was a little baby sleeping soundly with his eyes closed beside the mother.
Xie Yi walked over to the mother’s side. She gently lifted the mother’s upper garment and carefully checked her wound, but her expression froze once she saw the longitudinal cut on her abdomen.
The stitching and knotting techniques were almost identical to hers.
Xie Yi’s gaze turned dark.
This was the first doctor she met who displayed the same techniques as herself long since she had been studying medicine.
Joe stood beside Xie Yi and asked in a low voice, “Xie, is something wrong?”
