Chapter 561: I’m Going on Patrol Tonight. The Dinner is Simple...
“Are you and Mr. Miao business partners?” Luosang asked abruptly.
“No.” Nian Junting shook his head. “He’s my uncle’s partner. They are doing real estate together. I’ve seen him a few times, but I don’t know him well. I don’t like him, and I don’t think the real estate market has a future.”
“How come your uncle knows someone like that?”
“They make use of each other,” said Nian Junting. “He’s the owner of the Bingyang Group.”
Luosang understood. The Bingyang Group had developed quite a few projects all over the country. No wonder Zhong Yi hadn’t left him, even after suffering that kind of violence.
Next, Luosang lowered her head to browse the WeChat Moments. Five minutes ago, Nian Xi had posted a new moment. It was a picture of a half-eaten boxed meal with a few simple words—I’m going on patrol tonight. The dinner is simple...
“Did Nian Xi talk to you recently?” Luosang was quite worried about her.
“She did yesterday. She asked if we have made up,” Nian Junting replied.
“What about her and Ji Chuan?”
“Not yet.”
“She’s waiting for Ji Chuan,” Luosang said. “You’d know if you saw her newest WeChat Moment.”
As a red light was in front of him, Nian Junting took a glance at Nian Xi’s new post, then said, “She said that she’s on patrol. What does it have to do with her waiting for Ji Chuan?”
“Did she ever post WeChat Moments about her simple meals before? But ever since she broke up with Ji Chuan, she’s made similar posts every couple of days. Normally, a girl would only post something like this to get the attention of the person that she likes. A smart man, or a man who cares about his girl, should be sending her some scrumptious food as soon as he saw her post.”
Nian Junting was enlightened. “I get it. I seemed to grow extra fond of posting WeChat Moments every time we had a fight. The EQ of my little sister is really as high as mine.”
Luosang didn’t know what to say. Nian Xi’s EQ is way higher than yours, she thought. I guess she has all the EQ that you failed to grow back in your mom’s uterus.
“Let’s send her some food,” she suggested. “It’s still early anyway.”
“Why? As you said, she clearly made the post for Ji Chuan. If he doesn’t bring her any food, they should break up,” Nian Junting responded.
“You understand it now because I just explained it to you. Feng Ji Chuan may not understand it, either.” Luosang sighed. “If he doesn’t show up with some good food or doesn’t even call her to ask her how she’s been doing, Nian Xi will be really disappointed.”
“It’s not about if he understands or not.” Nian Junting frowned. “As your boyfriend, if I saw you eating poor food, I’d be worried. I would send the best food to you as quickly as possible.”
Luosang immediately felt as sweet as honey. She smiled and said, “Not every man cares about his girlfriend like our Mr. Nian does. Some people might say to their girlfriends that ‘watching you eating this tiny portion of food makes me worry,’ but wouldn’t take any actual action. The slightly better ones might send their girlfriends some money and tell them to buy some better food for themselves. The second kind of man is already considered nice.”
“These men are so hypocritical,” Nian Junting said disdainfully.
...
Nian Xi liked barbecue, so Luosang and Nian Junting bought some. After that, they asked someone else about where she was patrolling and then drove that way. Nian Xi and two male police officers parked their vehicles in the busiest part of the city.
Seeing Luosang and Nian Junting show up with food, Nian Xi was so touched that she was even about to cry. “Sangsang, you’re the best sister-in-law in the world. It’s been quite a while since I posted that, but only you brought food to me.”
