Chapter 600: I Thought You Missed Me So Much That Your Heart Ached

“Yes, come.” Jiang Qifei stood up hurriedly and said to Shuangwei, “Shuangwei, Junting has been here daily ever since you were injured.”

Leng Shuangwei was slightly touched. He still had some feelings for her, it seemed. Unfortunately, fate had not been kind to them. It was impossible for them to ever be with each other.

“Shuangwei saved my grandma. It is only right that I come,” Nian Junting said, knowing that she could have been mistaken. “Shuangwei, your...”

“Dad, Mom, could you leave us for a moment?” Leng Shuangwei said suddenly.

“Mm,” Leng Zhe mumbled before leaving. Jiang Qifei followed behind him.

“Shuangwei, rest assured, I have asked all my contacts from overseas regarding the most advanced obstetric treatment options. There must be a way. Think about it. Technology has advanced so rapidly, we didn’t even have smartphones as children. Now, they’re all over the place,” Nian Junting assured her.

Leng Shuangwei smiled weakly and mused, “Are you encouraging me to not let you go and keep courting you instead?”

Nian Junting was speechless. If only he could retract what he had said.

Leng Shuangwei shook her head. “I knew it. You can’t bear the thought of being without children. You have so much money, you’d definitely want somebody to inherit the company.”

“...” Nian Junting thought, It has nothing to do with inheriting the company, alright? He sighed. He only just realized how odd she was.

“But Junting, I hope that we can still be friends in the future. Don’t avoid me like before.” Leng Shuangwei looked at him with dreary eyes. “Alright?”

“Alright.” Nian Junting nodded.

“Also, could you bring Xiao Si back? He’s not to blame for the incident, anyway. He was drunk. He didn’t know what he was talking about,” Leng Shuangwei said softly.

“Okay, I never intended to keep him there for long, anyway.” Nian Junting heaved a sigh of relief. “I’ll have him keep you company here to stave off your boredom.”

“Thanks,” Leng Shuangwei’s eyebrows furrowed into a slight frown before she slowly closed her eyes. “I’m tired. Go back, then. Don’t stay here anymore. You have work to do, too.”

Nian Junting knew that she had yet to recover from her injury and stepped forward to tuck in her blanket. Only after she had fallen asleep did he leave.

...

11pm, in the studio.

Luosang was dubbing the soundtrack for the female lead when she suddenly spotted Nian Junting’s familiar silhouette through the small window. She was surprised. Beside her, Feng Wei reminded her, “Luosang, don’t be distracted, even if Mr. Nian is here.”

Luosang blushed and nodded. It had been a few days since she had last seen him. She had seen him at least once every two days before this. She did not realize how much she missed him. She felt like rushing up to him immediately. The more hurriedly she worked, however, the more mistakes she made. Finally, she completed her work. It was now past midnight.

Walking out of the studio, she barely had time to speak before Nian Junting stepped forward to fold her into his embrace.

“Aiyo!” Her colleagues started cheering from behind her.

“Let go of me! What a scene!” Luosang pried his arms away, her face as red as a tomato.

“You kept looking at me from inside. I thought you missed me so much that your heart ached.” Nian Junting reached out to caress her face. “Look at you. You’ve become so emaciated from missing me.”

“Ha ha, Mr. Nian, you haven’t brought her supper in a while. That’s why she’s starving,” her colleagues chuckled.
