Chapter 604 - Luo, You Aren’t Focusing
“You look beautiful when you’re asleep.” Nian Junting blinked, looking at her. “Luo, I’ve missed you. The last three days felt like 30 years.”
Luosang replied, “Your persuasiveness has improved during the past 30 years.”
“Good girl.” Nian Junting grinned as he unbuckled his seatbelt and leaned over to press his lips to hers. Luosang caught a whiff of the smell of disinfectant. It must have been because he had spent the last few days at the hospital.
In the dark, they fumbled about in the cramped space of the car. Luosang’s palms were sweaty from anxiety, but she felt an unfamiliar sense of excitement. It was the first time they were doing this in public, in a car.
She kept looking out of the window, but Nian Junting kept turning her head back towards him. “Luo, you aren’t focusing.”
“I’m afraid the police will come,” Luosang said, taking in a breath of warm air.
“Why would the police come to such a place?” Nian Junting mumbled as he pressed his lips onto her neck.
Luosang looked at herself in the mirror. Her blouse had been half unbuttoned, and his hand was groping away at her skin beneath. Nian Junting suddenly moved over from the driver’s seat and pulled her onto his lap.
“Luo, have you been worried the past few days?” Nian Junting mumbled through their interlocked lips. “Worried that I’ll end up marrying Leng Shuangwei?”
Luosang was startled. She placed her arm around his neck, looked into his deep, dark eyes, and nodded. “Yeah, a little.”
“Stupid, am I that kind of person? Marrying someone just to repay a debt? That’s impossible. After I met you, I decided that I’ll only marry someone whom I love.” Nian Junting pinched her cheeks before gently biting them, as if he were biting a bun, chubby and irresistible. He could not help but confess again, “Luo, I love you.”
“What wrong have you done? What’s with all the sweet talk today?” Luosang’s lips curled into a smile as she caressed his face in her palms, his messy hair unable to hide his chiseled handsomeness in the dark.
Nian Junting’s eyelashes quivered. After a moment, he said in a compellingly attractive tone, “This incident made me realize I am afraid of losing you.”
Luosang was stunned. It took a while for her to regain her senses. Why would someone as confident as he was have such insecurities? It certainly was surprising.
“Why?”
“I was afraid that something would happen to my Grandma. I was afraid that we could not be together anymore,” Nian Junting said, before raising his head to kiss her.
Luosang suddenly felt a tug at her heartstrings. She understood. If something had happened to his Grandma, there was no way he could continue as if nothing had happened, no matter how strong he was at heart. If that had happened, they would really have had to split up. Fortunately, thankfully...
Holding his face in her palms, she looked down and kissed him passionately. Her slender, pale fingers traced his collarbone to the buttons on his shirt, and then she slowly unbuttoned them. Where her fingers came into contact with his skin, it felt like sparks had been ignited.
Nian Junting reached down to unbutton her jeans in a rough manner. They were in an unfamiliar environment, having an unfamiliar experience. Luosang buried her face into his neck. She could hear his shallow breaths close to her ear. Nian Junting was especially aroused.
As they were nearly done, a sound was heard from outside the car. Luosang was the first to hear it. She turned her face away and grasped next Nian Junting’s neck in fear.
“Does it hurt?” Nian Junting raised his head and whispered.
“Outside...” Luosang looked as if she were about to cry.
Nian Junting looked outside. Someone was holding a flashlight and looking into the car. Moreover, the person looked a little familiar. Horrified, he shuddered and with that... he was done.
“Open the door.” The person knocked on the car window.
Nian Junting finally recognized the person standing outside. His expression turned frosty.
Luosang was so ashamed that she wanted to evaporate into thin air. Trembling, she put on her clothes and mouthed, “What do we do?” Hadn’t he said that nobody would come here in the middle of the night? Why was Nian Xi standing outside?
Nian Junting took out his smartphone and dialed Nian Xi’s number. Her ringtone sounded from outside, but she only took a look at her phone before hanging up promptly. “If you don’t come out, we’ll be towing your car away. Don’t blame me if you end up all over the news,” Nian Xi warned again.
“...”
What a dumb sister. Nian Junting looked at Luosang and said, “Go to the back.” Luosang, utterly embarrassed, climbed into the rear hurriedly. Nian Junting opened his window. At the sight of the stony expression on his handsome face, Nian Xi was stunned. “Brother, why are you...”
“Didn’t you recognize my license plate?” Nian Junting gritted his teeth.
“Um... the lighting here is bad at night. I didn’t really take notice of the plate.” Nian Xi felt unbearably awkward under his ice-cold gaze. She craned her neck to look in the car. “Where’s Sang? I saw that the car was shifting. You can’t be alone, can you?”
Luosang buried her face deeper into the car seat. Why had she been so unlucky lately? Previously, Yan Su had overheard them, now they had been caught by Nian Xi. Did she do something wrong? Or was she simply having a bad year?
“Stop talking.” Nian Junting glared at Nian Xi coldly. Didn’t she know that Luosang was a shy person?
“Oh, but brother, I didn’t know that the two of you were so fashionably unrestrained.” Nian Xi coughed. “But as a police officer, it’s my duty to remind you, this cannot be allowed. It’s a disruption of public order. Go to a hotel next time. It’s not like you don’t have the money.”
“Why would you show up in the middle of nowhere at this time of the night? Is there a criminal around? There’s no one around. Don’t you normally patrol more crowded areas?” Nian Junting was frustrated.
“I’ve recently been reassigned to patrol this area.” Nian Xi shot him a look. “Don’t judge this place for being secluded. People like to get it on in their cars in this area. It’s just that they aren’t wealthy. They don’t seek the same thrill as the two of you.”
“Seeing that you like to come in the middle of the night to catch couples in the act, you must have a fetish for these things,” Nian Junting retorted rudely.
“You’re right, I am indeed stimulated by it. It’s not like you don’t know about my separation with Ji Chuan. I’m unhappy. That’s why I love catching couples messing around in their cars and teaching them a lesson. I might even take them to the police station where they might break up out of embarrassment.” Nian Xi chuckled. “Not to mention, I’ve already broken up a few couples.”
Nian Junting found her laughter especially chilling, given that they were in such a dark and secluded place. “It’s not right to wish unto others the misfortune that has befallen you. No man will ever like you. Maybe you should consider that mute guy from before.”
“I haven’t even met him,” Nian Xi said as she heard the footsteps of her colleague approaching.
“Nian Xi, how’s it going?”
“Alright, too bad you’re my brother. I can’t bring you in. Go quickly, but don’t do this again. The station is tightening their grip on these incidents,” Nian Xi said and turned towards her colleague. “It’s nothing. It’s just two men.”
Her colleague was surprised. “Aiyo, are gay people getting it on here as well?”
Nian Xi rolled her eyes. “They’re only talking.”
