Chapter 822 - I Might Not Be Good Enough
Chapter 822: I Might Not Be Good Enough
“How do you do, Lil Sis?” Yuan Xi’s eyes gleamed as she smiled at Huo Yao and did her best to suppress her excitement.
Huo Yao looked at Yuan Xi in surprise when she heard how the latter greeted her.
Little sister?
Yuan Xi scratched her short hair sheepishly as she hurriedly explained. “I am your older brother’s fan.”
She was so lucky to end up in the same faculty as her idol’s little sister.
Huo Yao pursed her lips and nodded politely when she realized why Yuan Xi greeted her this way.
“You look even prettier in person than you do online.” Yuan Xi leaned against the table and admired Huo Yao’s face with her head tilted.
Her skin was clear and radiant while her eyes were mesmerizing. She had exquisite features and looked just like a goddess.
She wanted to scream like a marmot.
Meanwhile, the teacher called Liu Qian came in with a book. Huo Yao promptly cleared her throat and Yuan Xi put down her hands before she straightened her body and suppressed her excitement.
Liu Qian glanced around the room and paused briefly when he saw Huo Yao. He proceeded to pick up the marker and wrote his name on the whiteboard.
After introducing himself, he took attendance of the freshmen and spoke to them.
The first lesson was all about getting to know each other. Since they were already in college, the atmosphere was not as strict and everyone was pretty casual.
The morning passed by in no time.
Huo Yao received a text message from Yi Feiyu at midday asking to see her in the canteen.
Huo Yao replied affirmatively and headed to the canteen. Since Yuan Xi was very friendly with her, she followed Huo Yao to the canteen as well.
Yi Feiyu had already taken some food for Huo Yao. Yi Lianfan was there too. Since they had not seen each other for a few months, he seemed slightly more mature than he did in middle school.
They got themselves a table and sat down. Since Yi Feiyu had not expected any company, he looked at Yuan Xi sheepishly for not getting food for her while he was at it.
Yuan Xi did not take it to heart and got up to queue for food.
After Yuan Xi went away, Yi Lianfan raised his head and glanced at Huo Yao. He felt she was as impressive as before. It was only her first day, but she had already found herself a sidekick.
“Yao, are things okay? Do you like your faculty?” asked Yi Feiyu in concern as he ate.
Now that Yi Feiyu had learned Huo Yao was going to take Physics as a second major, he was on a first-name basis with her since she was legitimately his junior.
Huo Yao raised her brow. “It was okay.”
“Biotechnology is the most important school in Biology. It is the training ground for the best scientists in the country, so you have to work hard, Yao!” Yi Feiyu recalled Huo Yao had opted for the course during their conversation previously.
“I got into Bioinformatics,” said Huo Yao unhurriedly.
Yi Feiyu raised his head in disbelief. “Wait. What are you doing in Bioinformatics? Didn’t you apply for Biotechnology?”
Huo Yao asked rhetorically. “Is there anything wrong with Bioinformatics?”
Yi Feiyu put down his chopsticks and explained how the divisions were worlds apart. “… Bioinformatics has limited resources and it is hard to succeed in it. Since the term has only just started, you should talk to the teacher and get yourself transferred while you still can.”
Huo Yao looked at Yi Feiyu and said sadly, “I might not be good enough for Biotechnology.”
Yi Lianfan had just swallowed his food and ended up choking.
