It probably was not Yuan Huan’s idea. To be precise, Yuan Huan’s boss wanted Min Yu.
Huo Yao gathered her thoughts quickly. She ignored Cheetah and walked up in front of Min Yu. She eyed him up and down and asked. “Are you hurt?”
Min Yu lowered his eyes. He clutched his chest and coughed a couple of times and his cool face was slightly pale. He simply shook his head and replied softly. “I’m good. You got here just in time.”
Huo Yao frowned. She reached her hand out and placed it on his pulse.
Min Yu coughed a couple of times and made it sound as though he had suffered internal injuries.
Cheetah was kneeling on one knee on the side when he heard the cough. He raised his head and looked at Min Yu in shock. He had not touched a hair on Min Yu’s head the entire time!
His vulnerability was all an act!
Huo Yao wanted to take his pulse, but she let go of his hand when she heard him coughing. She paused briefly and reached her hand out to help support him. “Your pulse seems erratic, but it’s not serious.”
“Okay,” acknowledged Min Yu softly before leaning against Huo Yao.
Cheetah went speechless.
Min Yu glanced at Cheetah coldly and tugged Huo Yao by the sleeve and asked. “What about them?”
Huo Yao raised her head coolly and said in a murderous tone, “How do you want them handled?”
Huo Yao rarely got protective of him, so he could not help feeling moved. Over time, she had genuinely started caring about him. He held her hand and paused before he said, “Violence isn’t the answer.”
Cheetah did not know what to say.
Huo Yao pondered and nodded in agreement. “That’s true. We should try to be compassionate.”
She turned to look at Cheetah and asked. “How much?”
Cheetah was busy cursing them for pretending to be nice. When he caught what Huo Yao said, he did not understand the question.
After some time, he finally realized that she was asking how much they were paid for the mission.
Cheetah gritted his teeth and said weakly, “One hundred mil.”
Huo Yao raised her head in surprise and looked at Min Yu. “Wow. That’s cheap.”
She had inadvertently seen a text message from the bank, so she knew this was peanuts to Min Yu.
Min Yu went quiet.
Huo Yao looked at Cheetah again. She pondered briefly and eased up. “If you pay us two hundred mil, we won’t kill you.”
Cheetah was stunned. He quickly snapped out of his shock and asked. “Are you really going to let me off?”
He did not know when or how she managed to attack him with the silver needle, so she was not someone to be trifled with. At a time like this, he had no choice but to go with the flow.
Huo Yao glanced at Cheetah. “We’re law-abiding citizens.”
Cheetah went quiet.
Cheetah wanted to cough out blood but he forced it down. He asked deeply. “What if you go back on your word after taking the money?”
“Do you have a choice?” asked Huo Yao mildly.
Cheetah lost his balance slightly. Moments later, he struggled to retrieve his phone from his pocket.
She was right, he had no choice. He could always earn more money in the future, but there was no restart button for his life.
After transferring the money, Cheetah looked at Huo Yao. “Did you use drugs on us? Can you give us the antidote?”
She was capable of quietly taking down his entire mercenary team at the same time, so she must have poisoned them
