Chapter 1551 - 1551 No One Will Demand An Apology
Jie Xi did not think it was serious enough to fire him.
“What do you mean by minor?” J flicked his shirt and continued., “Do you have any idea who wrote the code for the first-generation robot?”
Jie Xi did not understand why his boss brought this up now. He simply asked in confusion. “Was it not our mysterious founder?”
J raised his head and looked out the car window nonchalantly as he said, “Considering the international standards of AI technology, where do you think we are? Can our local industry compete?”
“Of course not. The foreign technology is three to five years more advanced than us in terms of databases…” replied Jie Xi automatically before he paused mid sentence.
They only wanted to work with the institute owing to the database used on the AL system. When J suddenly brought up the first-generation smart robot, Jie Xi naturally caught the underlying meaning in his boss’s words.
If the database was created by the mysterious founder of the company, even if he did not get fired, his career was over.
Jie Xi could sense his back turning cold. Wei Yong had genuinely gotten him into major trouble.

Meanwhile, in the car.
Liu Qian looked into the rearview mirror and could not help sighing inside yet again. “I know you are upset but we have no choice. Since we have no power, we just have to compromise.”
Huo Yao looked completely calm as she nodded. Since she was preoccupied, she said nothing.
Liu Qian continued. “If Mr. Qi asks to speak to you, let me know. Whatever it is, this happened because of me. If I had given up on the DO Corporation’s project sooner, this would not have happened. If the company wants an apology, I will…”
Huo Yao gathered her thoughts and interrupted. “No, they won’t.”
Liu Qian choked promptly. He did not understand why Huo Yao was so confident about this.
“DO Corporation won’t ask for an apology,” said Huo Yao. No one would demand her apology. Instead, someone would even swing by the university to apologize to her.
Liu Qian looked into the rearview mirror quizzically. “Why are you so sure about it?”
Huo Yao smiled mysteriously. “Just a guess.”
Liu Qian went quiet.
If she did not sound so patronizing, he might have believed what she said.
Huo Yao said nothing. She lowered her head and took out her phone to play.
Liu Qian did not quite understand what she meant. But for some reason, he inexplicably felt a lot calmer.
They arrived at school 20 minutes later. Shortly after they arrived, Qi Hui also got back to school.
Wei Yong had thrown a temper at Qi Hui, so the moment he returned, he went to Liu Qian’s office angrily. “Do you know how much trouble you’ve caused?”
Liu Qian was mentally prepared for a scolding from Qi Hui. The moment he saw Qi Hui, he could not even be bothered to be polite and said without holding back the slightest, “Oh really? Do I look like I care?”
Qi Hui felt even angrier when Liu Qian acted so arrogantly and showed complete disregard for him. “Liu Qian, did you have a concussion or something? Do you know what you’re saying?”
Liu Qian looked at Qi Hui calmly. “I know what I am saying. If anyone doesn’t know whose side he is on, it’s certainly you.”
