Chapter 53 - Birth of a Miracle?

Chapter 53: Birth of a Miracle?

After receiving Fike’s instructions, Sertia flew toward the closest King-tier beast, the scout in front of her.

She navigated nimbly around the treetops of the forest at lightning speed.

“Why has her speed suddenly increased so much? Did she activate her class-specific skill?”

As he mumbled to himself, he was also accumulating the power of his cultivation technique.

The King-tier Exotic Beast gazed upon the afterimages left behind by Sertia’s breakneck movements under the moonlight, it grew more and more excited.

It opened its pitch-black eyes as wide as possible, precisely tracing the girl’s movements in the pitch-black night.

As if he had sensed something amiss, Fike noticed that the beast had stopped attacking.

Suddenly, it vanished from sight

Fike frowned, an uneasy intuition welling in his heart.

Suddenly, he roared.

“Sertia! Watch out for your head! Run!”

Before he could even finish his words, Sertia whipped her head down.

A sharp blade pierced through the forest, leaving behind a trail of cold wind.

In a trance, Fike saw that even the full moon hanging in the sky seemed to have been cut in half.

Blood splattered in the wake of the blade, and the tip of the ivory blade was stained red.

“Sertia! Are you okay?!”

The girl was struggling to press against the gash on her arm where blood was seeping out.

“I’m fine!”

She stumbled as she regained her footing.

Seeing that Sertia was still able to stand, the excitement in the King-tier beast’s heart only intensified.

Just as it was about to launch its second attack, fierce spikes came rushing behind her again.

Although she had noticed the sneak attack from behind, she had no time to dodge.

Moreover, she had just suffered an extremely grave injury, and so she could only take the sharp spikes head-on.

They pierced through the left of her abdomen, leaving a medium-sized hole.

Blood splattered all over the ground.

“Fike, if it really can’t be done… then quickly… run, don’t worry about me.”

As Fike looked at the heavily injured Sertia, unbottled rage and power surged to his forehead.

At this moment, he had just about finished accumulating power.

His eyes glowed, emitting rays of golden light that extended all the way down from his eyes to his cheeks, and sharp golden lines crept across his face.

“Damn beasts, taste this!”

As he lowered an index finger from his forehead, a golden eye suddenly opened between his brows.

A saturated golden beam pierced through the King-tier scout’s palm, so fast that even the powerful beast had been unable to dodge it.

Looking at its palm that had been pierced through in disbelief, the creature instinctively retreated a few steps.

Taking advantage of the moment of its cautiousness, Fike flew over to Sertia.

She was already in a semi-conscious state.

“Healing spell! Rise!”

Her wounds miraculously started closing up, in a manner similar to time reversal. In less than two seconds, her body had been recovered to its original state.

However, she had fainted from the excessive loss of blood. It seemed that she wouldn’t be able to get up for a while.

Fike gently placed her under a tree not far away.

Almost at the same instant that he let go, he flashed in front of the group of Exotic Beasts once again.

Now, he stood before the 14 King-tier Exotic Beasts, the so-called 14 Claws of the Demon King.

Behind them were the posse of captured Earth players.

Fike’s eyes darted back toward the fourteen terrifying beasts, brimming with hostility.

Both sides were in a stalemate. The group of Exotic Beasts stared back at Fike, who seemed to have the situation under control, and none of them dared to act rashly.

‘It seems that the attack just now had indeed been effective! These damn creatures are actually afraid?’

How had Fike been able to miraculously erupt with such power in such a short period of time?

In truth, it was all thanks to Zhao Ruoxian.

Just as the King-tier scout had attacked Fike and Sertia…

Zhao Ruoxian, who was in the spiritual world, had sensed that Fike was in imminent danger.

Using a form of spiritual brainwave, she contacted Fike urgently.

“Earth child, you’d better be careful. Don’t die in this Miracle Forest!”

Feeling Zhao Ruoxian’s summons, he responded, “My dear fairy sister, I had already been half-dead after fighting an Overlord-tier Exotic Beast, not to mention this King-tier Exotic Beast. Moreover, fourteen of them appeared at once!”

“Earth child, you don’t have to be anxious. Haven’t you already mastered a skill that can restrain these creatures?”

After a moment’s hesitation, he thought up a reply.

“Are you talking about the Holy Demon Slayer Ray?”

“That’s right, but with the current power of that skill, it’ll be almost impossible for you to defeat these fourteen monsters. But…”

A spark of joy ignited as Fike heard her words. Could it be that Zhao Ruoxian actually knew a way to defeat these Exotic Beasts?

“Dear fairy, at this time, you’re still keeping me in suspense? If you don’t say something soon, I’ll end up as food for these creatures!”

“Haven’t you learned a purification skill similar to the Baptism of Holy Light? Do you still need me to hold your hand through this?”

Fike didn’t know how to react.

Seeing him like this, Zhao Ruoxian frowned slightly.

“Oh my, you’re actually a fool. You’re a priest now, have you forgotten? Didn’t you learn three new skills?”

“You’re saying that Holy Sublimation is also a purification skill? Am I supposed to use it to level up myself?”

“No, the Holy Demon Slayer Ray can’t be upgraded again. You’re wrong.”

Fike’s expression fell rapidly in just a few seconds.

“What’s the use then if I can’t advance and level up?”

“Your Holy Sublimation spell can greatly increase the power of your spells and skills for a short period of time!”

“Oh! I see, I understand, Zhao Ruoxian!”

“Don’t get too excited too early. Even if you temporarily increase the power of the Holy Demon Slayer Ray, you still have no hope of completely defeating these Exotic Beasts.”

Zhao Ruoxian paused, smiling before she continued.

“I have an immortal pill here. If you feel that you can’t hold on much longer, you can take it. But…”

Fike was already used to Zhao Ruoxian, who liked to play coy in the middle of a crisis.

“There are side effects, right? Just tell me about them.”

“The side effects are that you won’t be able to use any spells afterward for a period of time.

“But once the recovery period is over, everything will be back to normal! Don’t worry.”

Hearing this, Fike spoke, disgruntled.

“Give me the pill.”
