Chapter 290
Chapter 290
During the entirety of that fight, she could clearly feel several cameras staring at her and observing all of her movements.
Looking towards the cameras one by one, she gave each of them a smile before snapping her fingers.
Several nanotech needles appeared in the air and launched towards the cameras, shattering them in an instant.
"Well then, that should have given them enough time to gather all of their research in one place so that I don’t have to spend as long looking for them." Shiro muttered with a grin. The only reason that she had dragged on the fight a little longer than what she would have normally was to save her the effort of scanning through doc.u.ment after doc.u.ment.
After her ordeal at the library, she was quite happy to not spend literal hours looking at words.
Walking over to the top of the base, she stomped down as hard as she could, causing a spider web of cracks to spread all over to the ground.
Chuckling softly, she phased into the base.
Looking at the desolate corridors, she smiled and pressed her palms against the walls.
*Boom~
A soft drum sound could be heard as Shiro instantly got a map of the area.
’Hmm... they’re in a separate bas.e.m.e.nt that’s guarded by several people with a huge amount of mana. Maybe more level 100’s?’ She thought to herself.
{Can you handle them my queen? They’re sure to be on guard now that they know what you can do.} Nimue frowned.
’They think they know but they didn’t think that I was still holding back quite a bit. I haven’t even used all my skills from the sylph queen class after all.’
Raising her eyebrows, if she had any, Nimue realised that Shiro had managed to kill 7 level 100’s without using her full power. It was only now did she realise how absurd Shiro was with her Celestial Path.
A skill that allows her to actively cancel out mana usage while she was able to use her own was like shutting down someone’s system and only allowing them to use their physical bodies to fight a giant fortress. Absolutely one sided.
Plus, what was holding it back was the foundation used with the path. Since her Nanomancer class was lacking a little in the early levels, the effects were diminished and on top of that, her mana links are still broken.
Nimue estimated that if Shiro was the same level as she was in her peak, even if she didn’t get new skills, she would have surpassed herself with just the Celestial Path itself.
After all, every skill used mana. Take that away and they become useless.
Realising how much more terrifying Shiro had become, Nimue smiled in excitement since it was almost guaranteed that the spirit race would rise to new heights. Perhaps- no, they will become the number 1 race with Shiro as a leader.
While Nimue was envisioning the future, Shiro had arrived at the entrance to where all the scientists and guards are.
A single scan with her nanobots told her that it was heavily reinforced with formations on top of formations.
However, Shiro only smiled.
*Click
Snapping her fingers, nanobots threaded through the walls and started to eat away at the formations while being reinforced by Celestial Path.
*PING PING PING PING!
Shattering sounds could be heard as the formations were broken down one after the other.
When the last formation was destroyed, Shiro didn’t enter like an idiot but instead used Rift Walker.
"Knock knock b*tches." She said while appearing above the level 100 guards.
*BOOM!!!!
Swinging their swords without hesitation, they cut Shiro in half. But little did they know, it was just her Fae Illusion at work.
"Ah, wrong one." Her voice rang out again.
Path of Ascendance – Asura Sword Path + Soul Sword!
Pulling out a pitch black blade, her arm flickered for a moment and pierced their chests simultaneously.
Without saying a second word, the guards collapsed on the ground lifelessly.
"One slice against the skin would inject you with a lethal poison and slowly corrupt your souls. One strike to the heart will consume your soul, forcing you out of reincarnation..." She muttered while curving her smile into a sadistic grin.
"As for you scientists, for the sins that you have committed against everyone whom you’ve experimented on with nanobots, you can enjoy the slow pain of your souls being corrupted before being consumed by me." She spoke softly and flickered away from her spot.
A trail of red followed behind her, weaving out an intricate pattern as she efficiently moved through the mass of scientists.
Before any of them could react, a single fine cut could be seen on their necks.
Smiling at the symphony of screams behind her as each of them tried their best to resist the pain that comes with their souls being corrupted, Shiro casually walked up to what seemed to be the main terminal and injected her nanobots inside to download all of the information.
What she didn’t know was that while this was happening, her true nature grinned wildly and started to feast on all the souls that she had gathered.
-More... I need more... - It muttered in joy.
The more souls it consumed, the more it seemed to grow and shift. From the previous black mist of just eyes and a mouth, it now had a more humanoid body of sorts.
While her true nature had been changing and growing just like she was, Shiro finally finished retrieving all of the relevant data.
Within this data, she had found the full versions of volume 1 and 2 but still lacked the 4th volume.
’Hmm... I may be able to find the 4th volume in the main base or something.’ She thought to herself while reading through the first two volumes.
Volume one was an intricate design blueprint of how the nanobots worked. Despite its size being ridiculously small, it had layers after layers of converters and factories within itself. When given mana, it is converted into materials which are funnelled into factories to make more materials.
Within this volume, it theorized about how to make this more efficient and compact so that there was a further increase in the production speed in order for one to keep up with those in the higher tiers. Not only that, with a compact design, it would reinforce the strength of each individual nanobot and make it harder for them to be destroyed.
As for volume two, it talks about possible materials the nanobots could imitate by recreating their core structures as well as how one could potentially use it as the materials for a blacksmith. Provided that the creator of the nanobots was able to make it so that the nanobots could sustain itself while keeping its compact form.
A task that was impossible unless one was able to utilise everything that volume one had talked about.
"When boiled down, it could be said that volume 1 is reinforcement, volume 2 is adjustment and volume 3 is advancement. Does this mean that volume 4 is the final form?" She muttered in excitement.
Without even realising the concepts within all 3 volumes, her class was already at EX rank, a rank that she had never even heard of before and was apparently the first one to have discovered it within her world, which she could only guess is ’Earth’ rather than Aria since this was a trial area.
What would happen if she actually succeeded in bringing those concepts to life? Such a question triggered Shiro’s desire to just become a hermit in the mountains so that she could advance her class.
However, the muscle brain side of her would reject that notion since it was more thrilling to realise a concept through battle.
Shaking her head, she looked over at the corpses spread through the room.
"Hmm... they were much stronger in my memories. Maybe it’s because it’s years before I had actually succeeded in becoming a Nanomancer so their levels are a bit lacking. That being said, I wonder if I can find the light hero in this world. Maybe back in his hometown?" Shiro muttered.
Suppressing her jubilance at the chance of killing the light hero, even if he was just an illusion, Shiro packed up and left the labs.
Her next goal, search for the main labs along with the light hero.
