Chapter 176 - 176: Hubby, You Take Such Good Care Of Me
For more practice, Ruan Qi followed Tang Beibei home.
After dinner, the two of them rested for a while before they went upstairs to the dance studio.
Apart from going to the toilet, the two of them spent three hours in the dance studio. It was getting late and Ruan Qi had to go home.
Song Zhou, who usually went to bed early, stood guard downstairs. When Ruan Qi came downstairs with her school bag, he rubbed his eyes and stood up.
“Miss Ruan, let me send you home.”
Ruan Qi felt a little embarrassed. “Thanks so much. Sorry for making you wait.”
Song Zhou grunted sleepily and held out his hand.
“Can I take your bag?”
“Thanks.”
Ruan Qi handed him her school bag, turned and said goodbye to Tang Beibei before following Song Zhou to the car.
When Song Zhou opened the door for her and saw her shrinking her shoulders and crossing her arms, he said, “Why didn’t you wear a jacket when you know that it will get cold?”
“It gets very hot when I practice. It’ll only be for a while. I’m healthy and my body can take it.”
Song Zhou sighed helplessly. To put it bluntly, this girl didn’t know how to take care of herself.
Autumn nights were cold, and it was not something that one could withstand just because one was healthy.
Inside the villa, Jiang Jingchen urged Tang Beibei to take a shower and go to bed. Tang Beibei waved her hand and said that she would rest for a while.
Seeing that it was already 11:30 p.m., Jiang Jingchen walked up to her and carried her upstairs to the bedroom.
When they were in the bathroom, he placed her on the vanity and asked, “Do you need me to help you shower?”
“No need!”
Tang Beibei pushed him away shyly and asked him to leave the bathroom.
Jiang Jingchen was just teasing her. She seemed to accept this kind of teasing but she blushed easily. Besides, they hadn’t gone that far together.
Tang Beibei took a shower and dried her hair before she came out of the bathroom. When she walked out, she saw the man beckon at her.
She walked over and saw him carrying a foot bath. It was steaming hot, and the room smelled of mugwort leaves.
“Hubby, what are you doing?”
“You’ve practiced all day. Come and soak your feet. It’ll help you sleep.”
Tang Beibei sat down next to him. She lifted her feet, ready to dip them into the foot bath when the man held her feet and said, “Let me test the water temperature first before you put your feet in.”
The man tested the water temperature using his hand. After making sure that the temperature was not too hot, he put her feet in.
“Hubby, let’s soak together!”
“Nah. I’ll help you relax your muscles.”
Jiang Jingchen took out another device and plugged it in. It was a fascial gun.
At first, it tickled her, and she wanted to dodge, giggling.
“I’ll up the speed. I saw you suddenly had a cramp last night, so I asked Song Zhou to get one of these. It will help prevent cramps.”
Tang Beibei looked at him in surprise. She had only said once last night that her leg was cramping, and he remembered it and even bought her something to prevent it.
“Hubby, you take such good care of me.”
Jiang Jingchen saw that her eyes were red and kissed her eyes with heartache. “It’s my duty. I’m your husband and your only family. Of course, I must take good care of you.”
Tang Beibei was so touched that she kissed him on the lips. “Yes, you’re also the best family 1 have.”
Jiang Jingchen didn’t say anything. He had been indifferent to kinship since young. He even hated his own father.
She was the woman who would accompany him for the rest of his life. Of course, he wanted to give her the best in the world.
After wiping her feet dry, he carried her to bed and went to clean up.
Of course, he had never done this before, but he was not really disabled. Although he was a little clumsy doing these trivial things, he could not bear to let her do it.
The next day, Ruan Qi came over early in the morning and practiced in the dance studio with Tang Beibei for the entire morning.
Silent Sister brought them fruits twice, but the two of them were so busy practicing that they didn’t eat much.
After lunch, Song Zhou drove them to Fu Jin’s dance studio.
“Good luck to both of you. Please call me when you’re done. I’ll go back to the villa first.” Song Zhou said after Tang Beibei got out of the car.
Tang Beibei and Ruan Qi waved their goodbyes. As they were walking in, Tang Beibei asked Ruan Qi curiously how she was getting along with Song Zhou.
Ruan Qi chuckled shyly. “I haven’t told him yet. I think Song Zhou is a real gentleman. He’s knowledgeable and sigh, so handsome. I’ll feel sorry for myself if 1 can’t bag him.”
Tang Beibei laughed in amusement. “Then you must persevere. But you should still ask him if he has a girlfriend first.”
“Okay, I’ll ask when I’m ready to tell him that 1 like him.”
They went to the training room and saw that the other students were practicing.
The two of them looked at each other and felt the pressure.
The teacher clapped to get everyone’s attention and reminded them that they would be assessed soon.
She had a small cardboard box and asked everyone to draw lots which would determine their turns.
The objective of today’s test was for the students to choreograph their own dance based on the movements they had learned recently.
It wasn’t just to test the students’ dancing proficiency, but also their understanding of the movements and their imagination in choreography.
Tang Beibei drew the number 3 and Ruan Qi, 7.
Ye Lan drew the number 1, which meant that she would go first.
Everyone held their breaths because they were well aware of Ye Lan’s performance.
If she went first and performed well, she’d raise the bar for the other students because in the eyes of the teachers, her performance would be the baseline.
Tang Beibei sat next to Ruan Qi. They watched the teacher turn on the music as well as a few cameras around the room.
For students who performed well, the teachers would post their dance videos on the dance studio’s social media account with commendations from a few teachers. Many students got their opportunities to perform commercially through this platform.
Ye Lan did a cheerful modern dance using the music “First Love.”
In her dance, she vividly expressed the playfulness, charm and innocence of first love.
It was as if she was not dancing but dating a young man. The other students applauded.
When faced with good art, the students appreciated Ye Lan’s work even when they were competitors.
When the music stopped, Ye Lan also stopped dancing. There was a big round of applause. The teacher did not need to say anything. The audience feedback alone showed how good her performance was.
Tang Beibei and Ruan Qi also applauded sincerely, feeling impressed.
Ye Lan smiled graciously and bowed to the audience before she walked away.
The teacher also applauded her and said that she danced very well. If she persevered, she would have a very bright future.
Ye Lan nodded calmly and turned to look at Tang Beibei.
“Did Ye Lan look at you just now to provoke you?” Ruan Qi asked softly.
“Provoke me? You must be joking. I’m not as good as her.”
Ruan Qi said, “I think you’re not bad either. I like your dance more.”
Tang Beibei chuckled softly. “You’re just saying that because we are friends. It’s obvious how blind love has made you.”
Ruan Qi rolled her eyes. “You’re just being humble. You never think highly of yourself. Action speaks louder than words. We’ll see how you perform later.”
The first student’s excellent performance put the second student under immense pressure.
The second student had a good start too, but after she made a mistake, she might have panicked and missed a few beats. There was only the sound of music in the training room. The other students were all covering their eyes nervously, afraid that they would end up in the same situation.
When the music stopped, the teacher pulled a long face and told the student a few of her shortcomings. She asked her to practice more and said that she didn’t pass the test. She got a C grade.
A, B, and C were the three grades given. C was the worst.
The third student was next. Tang Beibei stood up and walked to the middle of the room.
She started her music. It was a folk song, “Phoenix..”
