Chapter 228 - 228: Surprise Me, Not Let Me Down

Chapter 228 - 228: Surprise Me, Not Let Me Down

Ruan Qi slowed down in confusion when she saw Tang Beibei walking slowly. “What’s wrong with you? You look like you’re overindulging in sex.”

Tang Beibei blushed and muttered softly, “1 am indeed suffering from overindulgence.”

Last night, she was halfway through her dance practice when the man carried her back to the bedroom. After that, they spent a hours rubbing against each other.

She used to think that he would restrain himself since his legs had just recovered. But every time she mentioned this, the man seemed to go crazy trying to prove that sex didn’t affect his health, and that he could totally conquer her.

She sighed. She used to worry about his impotence and her life as a living widow. Now, she worried about the number of years she could live if he continued to behave like this.

Ruan Qi looked at her strangely. “What did you say? Suffering from what?”

“It’s nothing. It’s just a normal interaction between husband and wife. My legs are a bit sore.”

“… Tsk, but you’ve been interacting too often. The hickey on the back of your neck has never disappeared.” Ruan Qi reached out and tapped the back of Tang Beibei’s neck since Tang Beibei seemed unaware.

Tang Beibei was puzzled and asked Ruan Qi to take a photo of her. When she saw the hickey on the back of her neck, her face turned red with embarrassment.

“Jiang Jingchen lied to me. He told me that he wouldn’t leave any traces!”

Ruan Qi sighed. “Beibei, you’re still too naive. How can you believe what a man says in bed?”

“Why can’t we believe what a man says in bed?”

Ruan Qi’s lips twitched. Was it really a good idea for a singleton like her to teach Tang Beibei about these things?

“In order to get into a woman’s pants, men would make all kinds of promises. But when their pants are up, they would turn their back on the woman without hesitation. That’s the nature of men!”

Tang Beibei frowned. She didn’t like to hear others badmouth Jiang Jingchen, but she agreed with Ruan Qi.

The man said many, many things that made her blush in bed.

“Stop!”

Ruan Qi swayed in front of Tang Beibei when she saw her flushed face. “Stop thinking about your man. We’re going to compete later. Are you nervous?”

“All, I’m not nervous when I think about my man.”

“… Bye.”

Ruan Qi was so frustrated that she was about to walk away. Tang Beibei held her arm with a giggle.

Walking in front of them, Fu Jin could hear every word the girls said. He turned around and saw Tang Beibei’s naive and delicate appearance. His eyes and mood both turned dark.

It was as if he had eaten an extremely sour fruit, couldn’t spit it out and was forced to swallow it.

When they arrived at the activity room, it was packed with students. Some were here to compete while others were here to watch.

Someone from the student council came out to host. After all, the New Year’s Eve party was whole-university event that was highly anticipated by the teachers. Therefore, the faculty also viewed the event as high priority.

Tang Beibei watched the performances from other classes below stage while Fu Jin analyzed every single act with them. He was like a professional critique. His comments were to the point, which benefited them a lot.

Ruan Qi sighed. “Fu Jin, if you were an artiste, you’d be a superstar.”

Fu Jin didn’t quite agree. “Being an artiste is a profession. It may look glamorous but there are many limitations. 1 am happy to turn my employees into artistes and be the boss who takes care of them.”

Both girls gave him a thumbs up in admiration.

His had the boss mentality – ambitious with accountability, and he was already practicing it well.

Before the girls went on stage, Fu Jin comforted them to ease their nervousness. “Our faculty acts consist of singing, dancing, musical instrument performances, even crosstalk, but there aren’t many tasteful classics.”

“You are not inferior to others. Go forward boldly. Even if you are nervous and make a mistake, no one will find fault with you. Occasional mistakes are beautiful misunderstandings.”

Not only was Fu Jin a big shot professional, but he was also good at pep talks.

Beautiful misunderstandings.

Tang Beibei and Ruan Qi smiled and nodded.

Ruan Qi couldn’t help but feel envious. What kind of immortal was Fu Jin? If anyone became his girlfriend, wouldn’t he just dote on her?

The two of them were doing a street dance, with Ruan Qi as the principal. This was because on a big stage with a large audience, everyone preferred lively performances.

They had incorporated movement and stillness in their routine, which made the dance interesting. The two of them finished the dance together with Ruan Qi doing a split and Tang Beibei doing a backbend. These were two relatively difficult movements. The audience applauded when they saw the final scene.

Fu Jin stopped the video recording only after both girls left the stage.

“Your performance was even better than I expected.” Fu Jin smiled as he looked Tang Beibei and said, “Tang Beibei, did I ever tell you that you shine on stage?” Although he felt bitter inside, he was willing to accompany her.

Fu Jin actually didn’t know what it felt like to love someone. He also had his own ego and pride and wouldn’t openly snatch someone.

However, he felt proud when he saw the person he liked excel on stage.

Look everyone, here was the woman he admired. Although she wasn’t a professional dancer, she was a quick study and a serious learner. And that was what made her a crowd favorite.

“Huh?”

Tang Beibei scratched her head in embarrassment. “Maybe it’s because of the stage lights? Or is it because Qiqi’s style and mine were too much of a contrast?”

Fu Jin chuckled softly and did not say more.

Ruan Qi, who had witnessed the entire exchange, held back her laughter.

Fu Jin praised Tang Beibei but she didn’t get it at all. No wonder he didn’t manage to woo her back then.

In the end, the student council and the class monitors decided to let Tang Beibei and Ruan Qi represent their faculty in the next round of auditions.

There were 20 to 30 faculties and sub-faculties in the university and not every faculty would get a chance to perform, so they had to audition for it.

Some people were unhappy. They said that Fu Jin was already performing at the New Year’s Eve Gala, so his class shouldn’t take part or they would deprive the other classes of a spot. It wasn’t fair.

Fu Jin’s expression was calm in the face of such doubts. He patted Tang Beibei’s shoulder and joked, “As a future partner, Tang Beibei, watch carefully how we should deal with public relations.”

“…?” Tang Beibei looked at him blankly.

Fu Jin looked at the person who spoke up and said, “My participation in the New Year’s Eve Gala was at the invitation of the organizer teacher. It’s completely separate from our inter-class, intra-faculty competition.”

“Tang Beibei and Ruan Qi from our class gave a superb performance that won everyone’s applause. I’m very proud of them, so let’s look forward to their performance together.”

He was neither servile nor overbearing, and he did not say anything negative. But he made those who complained speechless.

Fu Jin still had a gentle smile on his face. The corners of his mouth curled up as he turned to look at Tang Beibei and even winked at her.

“You should also thank everyone for their support.”

Tang Beibei and Ruan Qi came to their senses and quickly thanked everyone. “Thank you for your support, everyone. We’ll do our best!”

Before everyone could say anything polite, Fu Jin said again with a firm tone this time, “They’ll have to hurry up and prepare for the audition. 1 hope they’ll surprise everyone. Let’s go.”

The two of them quickly followed him out of the activity room, silently giving him a thumbs up behind his back.

They would feel inferior if they didn’t work hard in the company of someone so outstanding!

Fu Jin waited for them to catch up before he told them, “You didn’t do anything wrong. Keep your chin up. No matter what those people say, keep your faiths.”

“You will encounter this kind of thing often in future, so you must build your resilience.”

“Yes, sir!” The two girls answered obediently.

Fu Jin glanced at Tang Beibei and restrained his smile. His tone became serious as he said, “I’ve taught you so much. I hope that you will surprise me and not let me down.”

Tang Beibei and Ruan Qi looked at each other and instantly felt the pressure meter explode.

What was more distressing was that Fu Jin expected them to come up with a new dance that had a wow-factor.

But this kind of wow-factor was like winning the lottery. It was something attainable only by luck..
