Chapter 316 - 316: I’ve Borrowed Some of Her Happiness
15% of the contestants would be eliminated in the ranking competition.
Judges would no longer be able to withhold their votes to eliminate a contestant.
There would be online and offline voting.
The judges’ votes would add up to 60% while online votes would contribute to the remaining 40%.
After the emcee explained the rules of the ranking competition, he said a few more words before he drew the elimination show to a close.
Jiang Jingchen walked out of the TV station with Tang Beibei. Ruan Qi walked behind them as she thought about how she could avoid their public display of affection when she saw a man walking towards her with a big bouquet of flowers.
The bouquet the man was holding was so big that it blocked his face but she thought that he looked like Song Zhou.
But she was also doubtful. Wasn’t Song Zhou recuperating at the villa?
The man walked up to her and said, “Miss Ruan, here’s a bouquet of flowers for you.”
Suddenly, the man gave the bouquet to her and revealed his handsome face.
It was Song Zhou!
Ruan Qi was pleasantly surprised. She smiled and accepted the bouquet from him. “Why are you here? Does your back hurt after standing for so long?” “It doesn’t hurt. I wanted to surprise you. Are you surprised?”
“Yes!” Ruan Qi sniffed the flowers and smiled. “So many! Are there ninety-nine flowers?”
“Yes, I want to grow old with you.”
Song Zhou held her hand. He thought he was glib-tongued, but he was often at a loss for words in front of Ruan Qi.
Even if he had memorized his lines, he wouldn’t be able to say them when he met her. He would be really excited whenever he saw her smile.
His hand that was holding hers trembled slightly.
Ruan Qi hugged him and gave him a kiss. “You gave me flowers, and I reciprocated with a kiss.”
Song Zhou looked at her with burning eyes. He smiled and lowered his head to kiss her between her eyebrows. “Miss Ruan, you make me happier than the flowers.”
“But of course!”
Jiang Jingchen, who was standing beside them, turned to look at his little wife, who had a silly smile on her face.
He asked softly, “Envious?”
“Oh, no. I’m happy to see Ruan Qi happy.”
Jiang Jingchen stepped forward and said to Ruan Qi, “Ruan Qi, may I borrow a rose?”
Ruan Qi was puzzled, but she still pulled one out from her bouquet and handed it to him.
Jiang Jingchen then gave the single rose to Tang Beibei. “I’ve borrowed some of her happiness and gave it to you. You should be twice as happy now.”
“Huh?”
Tang Beibei was stunned for a few seconds before she reacted. “How can you borrow that?”
“I’ve already borrowed it. Do you hate it?”
“Nah.”
Tang Beibei snapped the stem on the rose and put the flower in her hair.
“Does it look nice?”
Jiang Jingchen stroked the rose petals and even lowered his head to smell it. “It smells really nice. Today, my Obedient Beibei smells so nice, beautiful and fragrant.”
Tang Beibei giggled, held his arm and continued to walk.
Ruan Qi was stunned speechless by Jiang Jingchen’s mastery.
She said to Song Zhou, “If there was ever a ranking for romantic skills, you’re a bronze rank, and your young master is the champion!”
Jiang Jingchen sweet-talked like he was doing rapid-fire standup comedy. Which girl could resist that?
Song Zhou cleared his throat and said, “Young Master is smart, and he speaks well. I’ll learn from him.”
He had to admit that he was not very good at romance, nor did he know how to use words to please women.
Ruan Qi saw that he was serious and smiled as she held his arm. “But I have a unique taste. I like bronze ranked players like you.”
Ruan Qi also wanted to tell him that although he rarely said anything flirtatious, he always did everything he could to love her with all his heart. People were different and no one was perfect.
Jiang Jingchen was ruthless and deceitful. He often lied to Tang Beibei. Fortunately, Tang Beibei was innocent and trusted everything he said and that made their relationship work. Otherwise, they would be fighting all the time. The four of them got home. Because both girls did so well at the elimination round today, Jiang Jingchen had asked Silent Sister to prepare a feast.
While eating, Jiang Jingchen glanced at the cauliflower dish.
He picked up a piece for Tang Beibei and asked her if it was delicious.
Tang Beibei took a bite. “Mmm, it’s delicious!”
Jiang Jingchen then picked up another piece for Ruan Qi using a pair of serving chopsticks.
“You lent me a rose to make my wife happy. Now, I give you a piece of cauliflower that my wife thinks is delicious. You are welcome.”
Ruan Qi looked at the cauliflower in her bowl and her lips twitched. “Young Master Jiang, are you so stingy that you can’t even afford a rose?” Jiang Jingchen picked up more food for his wife before he explained seriously to Ruan Qi, “It’s not that I can’t afford it, but the utilization rate of roses is too low. Other than drying them to make tea, there isn’t much use for them.” “I’ll spend my money to buy my wife some cauliflower that can satiate her. I can also buy a potted jasmine plant that will bloom for several months and can be used to make tea or help her sleep.”
“Obedient Beibei, how about a potted winter jasmine?”
Tang Beibei thought for a moment and said, “Winter jasmine has a mild nature. It tastes bitter and slightly spicy. It’s a type of heat-reducing and detoxifying medicine.”
“It contains cyclohexene ether terpenes, flavonoids, carotenoids, essential oil, fatty acids and other chemical compounds.”
“It reduces heat and detoxifies the body. It also promotes blood circulation and reduce swelling. When Qiqi or I fell while dancing, we crushed winter jasmine petals and mix the flower extract with some sesame oil to rub on the wound. It’s very effective.”
Jiang Jingchen didn’t expect her to be able to recite the composition of the flower, and he smiled proudly.
“Alright, then let’s buy some winter jasmine. Is there any other plant you like? We can buy them too and plant them in the yard.”
Ruan Qi put down her chopsticks speechlessly. She felt that she had suffered too much after she listened to Jiang Jingchen’s sweet nothings to Tang Beibei and Tang Beibei’s recital of her medical knowledge.
Song Zhou gave Tang Beibei a thumbs up in admiration of her medical knowledge.
His young master just casually mentioned a plant and she remembered its properties so well. It was obvious how much effort she put into her studies.
He also believed that when he fainted, Tang Beibei had searched everywhere in the mountains for medicine to stop his bleeding.
Tang Beibei checked the calendar and her eyes suddenly lit up.
“It’s going to be Arbor Day soon. Let’s go buy some saplings, plant some fruit trees, and get some herbal seeds. Song Zhou is still in recuperation. Eating food with Chinese medicine would do him good.”
Ruan Qi’s expression turned serious when she heard something that concerned Song Zhou’s health.
“Okay, where do we buy these things? I’ll go with you.”
Tang Beibei deliberated and said, “Let me ask Professor Chen. With his guidance, we won’t buy the wrong things. It’s best if we can also plant some motherwort.”
“Why do you want to plant motherwort?” Ruan Qi was puzzled.
“You don’t feel well during your period. Motherwort would be good for you as it helps with blood circulation and menstrual disorders.”
Tang Beibei continued, “The prescription that Professor Chen wrote me this time contained some medicine for gynecology health. But our bodies are different, so you can’t take my medicine. I’ll bring you to Professor Chen and ask him to examine you.”
“No, thanks. I’m scared of Professor Chen. Please spare me.” Ruan Qi begged. Although Professor Chen was a famous TCM doctor, he was the devil lecturer in Ruan Qi’s eyes!
The four of them discussed and decided on things to plant in the yard. Tang Beibei said she would consult Professor Chen on what she should plant during her next shift in his office.
However, she didn’t expect that when she next arrived at the dance studio, Xi Tong would tell her that after she appeared on TV, someone had offered a huge reward to find her.
