Chapter 491 - 491: You Have Someone You Like?

Gu Qingluan pushed Feng Tianlan away abruptly, casting a quick glance around. Her cheeks involuntarily turned hot.

She shot an annoyed look at Feng Tianlan, then made an effort to calm herself down. She used her arcane power to quell the heat on her face, thinking, “Pm not embarrassed; it’s him who should be embarrassed.” She then looked at Tang Shijun with a sly smile. “Shijun, you’re about the right age. Should I introduce a suitable young man to you?”

Tang Shijun hadn’t expected the conversation to turn towards her.

Her striking face suddenly flushed.

Gu Qingluan was taken aback.

Was there something going on?

“Do you have someone you like?”

Tang Shijun immediately denied, “No, there isn’t!”

But her manner actually seemed more like she was trying to cover something up.

Gu Qingluan curved her lips in a playful manner. “That doesn’t seem like a ‘no’ at all. How about you tell me some characteristics of your crush, and I’ll take a guess?”

Tang Shijun covered Gu Qingluan’s mouth with her hand, her cheeks burning. “There isn’t anyone! Please stop making wild guesses.”

It was quite obvious that there was something going on.

But if Tang Shijun didn’t want to share, Gu Qingluan wouldn’t press her.

At least the attention had shifted away from herself.

Gu Qingluan, back to her normal self, looked at Feng Tianlan and said, “Don’t disturb Xiaonan while he’s treating the patient. If you have something to say to him, wait until tonight.”

Feng Tianlan did plan to meet his son soon and understood what she meant. He nodded in agreement.

Thinking about the imminent reunion with his son, he felt unusually restless. “Does Xiaonan… know?”

How should he talk to Xiaonan?

“He knows,” Gu Qingluan smiled and said, “Haven’t you noticed that he didn’t like you much before?”

Feng Tianlan had noticed. The little guy frequently made displeased faces at him, showing clear signs of not welcoming his presence.

He thought Xiaonan was upset with him for bothering Gu Qingluan.

Now, it seemed apparent that Xiaonan was displeased because he hadn’t recognized him as his son or provided him with care and attention.

Regret flickered in Feng Tianlan’s eyes.

He had made a mistake in such an important matter.

It was normal for Xiaonan not to like him.

Gu Qingluan crossed her arms, looking like she was enjoying the show. “You better figure out how to appease him. Don’t be fooled by Xiaonan’s usual cheerful demeanor; he can be quite stubborn.”

Feng Tianlan wasn’t worried; he would do whatever it took to win Xiaonan over, no matter how long it took.

“Qingluan, what are you talking about? Why can’t I understand it?”

“We’ll talk later tonight.” Gu Qingluan felt the timing was wrong for this conversation.

Tang Shijun couldn’t stand it and exclaimed, “All, Qingluan, are you trying to tease me? It’s like you’re putting a gourmet meal in front of me and saying I have to wait for hours before I can eat it. I can’t take it anymore! How about you tell me now?”

Gu Qingluan firmly shook her head.

“Please, just tell me, or at least give me a hint,” Tang Shijun pleaded, but her efforts were in vain.

She looked at Gu Qingluan in frustration. “You no longer love me; I’m going to seek refuge with Little Yuanxi, hmph!”

With that, she turned and ran off to find Yuanxi.

Gu Qingluan chuckled.

This girl, despite having a striking and noble appearance, became extremely lively once she got to know her.

Gu Qingluan glanced at the sun in the sky.

Time was passing quickly, and it was nearly noon.

Fortunately, the weather wasn’t too hot; otherwise, it would be scorching.

She approached Xiaonan, holding a cup of lukewarm water for him and encouraging him to take a short break.

Today, Xiaonan wasn’t the only one sitting in on consultations. Gu Qingluan had arranged three or four other doctors as well.

She didn’t expect Xiaonan to sit here all day.

Children tend to be playful, so she thought he might run off to play somewhere else after a while.

However, to her surprise, except for brief examinations and treatments in the simple room, he had been sitting in his seat, carefully diagnosing and treating patients without any signs of slacking off.

Gu Qingluan felt a mixture of pride and concern.

As Xiaonan finished with one patient and took a big gulp from his water cup, he happily said, “I’m not tired, Mother. If you’re tired, you can rest at home. I’ll play with you in the evening..”
