Chapter 623 - 623: Isn’t This Tempting Him?
Just as the little hand was about to reach the wine pot.
Snap!
It was pressed down by a slender, snow-white hand.
Gu Xiaonan, who was hiding under the table, froze in place. His small hand didn’t move a muscle.
“This is not for children.”
Gu Qingluan’s faintly cool laughter floated lightly into his ears.
Gu Xiaonan crawled out from under the table with a pitiful look, gazing at Gu Qingluan. “Mother, can 1 have just a tiny bit? Just a tiny bit, please?”
He gestured with his other thumb and forefinger.
Gu Qingluan smirked. “Alright.”
Gu Xiaonan’s eyes lit up instantly.
Gu Qingluan used a chopstick to collect a small amount from the cup, lightly brushing it against his soft, rosy lips before withdrawing it.
She then spoke in a calm and unhurried manner as she observed Gu Xiaonan’s eager gaze following the chopstick, “Just a tiny bit, as you mentioned.”
Gu Xiaonan licked his lips, tasting only a faint hint of the wine.
He didn’t even drink any!
Was she tempting him?
He really wanted to drink more!
Gu Xiaonan pouted in frustration. “Mother, that doesn’t count.”
“Go back to your seat, or I’ll get angry,” Gu Qingluan said in a tone that brooked no argument.
Gu Xiaonan immediately withdrew his hand, crawled back to his side of the table, and sat obediently.
Gu Qingluan glanced at Feng Yuanxi, who had been well-behaved all along, and then at Xiaonan, who couldn’t take his eyes off the wine pot. She shook her head, unable to help but smile.
They were both her children, but why were they so different?
“Xiaonan, children shouldn’t drink alcohol. Look at Yuanxi; he hasn’t asked for a sip.”
Gu Xiaonan muttered quietly, “He gets drunk after just one sip, how can I compare to him?”
“Hmm?”
Gu Xiaonan immediately covered his small mouth with his hand, indicating that he hadn’t said anything.
Wei Yuantong watched the interaction between mother and son, finding it quite amusing.
Oh, this disciple of his was quite to his liking!
His eyes flickered with a plan.
He glanced at Gu Qingluan secretly and then whispered to Gu Xiaonan through a mental transmission, “Good Xiaonan, do you want to have some wine? I have quite a collection hidden in my place. If you’re willing to be my disciple, I’ll share those wines with you in the future.”
Good wine?
Gu Xiaonan’s ears twitched.
Thinking of his mother being nearby, he tried to contain his excitement and nodded discreetly.
He couldn’t use mental transmission; his mother’s cultivation level was higher, and she would hear it.
Seeing Gu Xiaonan nod, Wei Yuantong couldn’t help but chuckle.
He didn’t expect that he would end up taking a disciple by tempting him with fine wine.
Wei Yuantong poured himself a glass of wine, downed it in one gulp, and happily exclaimed, “Refreshing!”
Beside him, Gu Xiaonan could only watch but not drink, silently complaining to himself, “That sneaky master deliberately tempted me! He knew my mother wouldn’t let me drink, yet he’s enjoying it so openly in front of me!”
Fortunately, it wasn’t long before the dishes started arriving, one after another.
He finally didn’t have to sit there and watch.
Wei Yuantong put down his wine glass and exclaimed, “The food is served so quickly today!”
Gu Qingluan thought to herself, “Of course, can the kitchen afford to delay serving the table of their own boss?”
Wei Yuantong tasted a dish and couldn’t stop.
After that, the four of them hardly spoke, focusing on eating.
After a feast, nearly all the dishes on the table ended up in Wei Yuantong’s belly.
Gu Qingluan finally understood why he was so chubby; he must have eaten his way to that figure.
Wei Yuantong then brought up the matter of discipleship.
Gu Xiaonan, eager for the good wine Wei Yuantong had mentioned, readily agreed.
Generally, as long as it wasn’t too out of line, Gu Qingluan wouldn’t object.
“Since it’s an apprenticeship, let this meal be a welcoming feast for your new disciple. I’ll treat you on Xiaonan behalf.”
Wei Yuantong waved his hand. “It’s my treat. 1 can’t let Madam Feng pay.”
After the meal, Wei Yuantong had a rough idea of their identities.
Gu Qingluan considered it and decided that she would treat him next time; she didn’t argue with him.
After a satisfying meal, Gu Qingluan planned to take her son for a stroll and let him digest his food.
However, at that moment, an urgent voice came from outside, “Guardian Princess, Old Master Gu has barged in, and it doesn’t seem like he’s here for a friendly visit.”
Wei Yuantong furrowed his brow., “He’s probably here to see me. You don’t need to go out. I’ll go meet him.”
With that, he stood up, and his belly seemed even larger than before, swaying as he walked out.
Gu Qingluan and the others followed him outside to see what was happening..
