Chapter 313: 246: 4 People on the List
Chapter 313: 246: 4 People on the List
Just based on Miao Shihe’s grandmaster-level strength, how could he possibly contact the Abyssal Demon Realm for help?
If every Evil Beast Master could easily drum up Abyssal Demon Realm support, then the demon beasts inside the Abyss would truly be constantly busy.
That’s not how it works.
Walking down the street, Vincent was planning to check out the office building where the Bai Gui Hui branch was located.
Although Vincent had no intention of dealing with the Bai Gui Hui himself, it didn’t stop him from being curious.
Leisurely, Vincent arrived near the office building where the Bai Gui Hui was based.
However, it was evident that the place had been through a very intense battle. The traces of explosions were still visible on the ground and the building’s body. Scorched, cracked walls, and damaged mechanical pet beasts scattered on the ground were silently recounting the thrilling scene that had taken place.
Against the flow of people, Vincent stood out noticeably. Yet the fleeing crowds didn’t care, they all rushed outwards.
“The fight ended so quickly?”
Vincent was somewhat puzzled, but he also followed the crowd away from the place.
Not long after, his phone rang. To his surprise, it was Iwashita Hisao. “Island Owner, did you need something from me?”
“The patrol team just reported. The information you provided was accurate. It was indeed the Bai Gui Hui’s branch. We have arrested them. Vincent, thank you so much.”
“No need to thank me, it was a fair trade. But about my matter….”
“Hahaha, say no more! You’ve helped me out immensely and it’s only right that I repay the favor! Relax, I’ve already arranged it. Give it at most three days, and I’ll give you a list.”
“Then, I thank the island owner.” “Haha, don’t mention it!”
*Beep, beep…*
After hanging up the phone, Vincent realised that it seems he no longer had a goal.
“Bai Gui Hui has been sorted out, the matter of finding Miao Shihe has been handed over to that old geezer, I realise I don’t have much to do now.”
Vincent was a bit anxious when he realised this, but his unease only lasted for a few seconds before dissipating.
“Come to think of it, I’ve been very busy lately, bouncing from one task to another. I have had no rest.”
“Why not take this opportunity to have some fun in the Archipelago Alliance, it can be considered a trip out of the country.”
But Vincent was a stranger in this place and had no idea where the fun spots were.
“I only know Miyazaki Sahui here, she should agree to be my guide, right?”
Three days later.
There were only three days left until the Hundred Ghosts Night Parade.
Vincent and Miyazaki Sahui spent the first two days of this period together, but on the last day, Sahui returned to take care of the little desert worms. Now, Vincent was alone on an island called Ofunato Island.
“The Archipelago Alliance is just so-so. I don’t know why, but the tourist attractions aren’t very new or exciting. What’s the deal with all the temples?”
“I guess it’s because of the Hundred Ghosts Night Parade, people here in the Archipelago Alliance have a stronger belief in these things. But even if they believe, I haven’t seen any deities or Buddhas coming to protect them. There are still a lot of money-swindling cults.”
As Vincent grumbled, the call he had been anxiously waiting for finally came through.
Looking at the name Iwashita Hisao displayed on the incoming call, Vincent’s mood became tense.
“God help me! I hope it’s good news!”
Without realising that he was behaving inst like those he had comnlained
about, Vincent answered Iwashita Hisao’s call.
“Island Owner, do you have news?”
“Yes. According to the information I have, there are a total of three non-native Grandmaster Beast Masters. I’m sending you their information now.”
The Island Owner hung up after saying this and immediately sent the message.
Vincent received the message, opened it up and frowned.
“Only four people, that’s unexpected. I thought there would be more.”
“Of these four, I can easily rule out the two grandmaster brothers from the
Polar Bear Federation. So which of the remaining two is Miao Shihe?”
Vincent was a bit troubled because he didn’t have the buff from [meticulous logic], so he was no longer able to discern the truth of the matter.
However, during yesterday’s last chance, Vincent had asked a specific question.
“Will Miao Shihe be on the list that Iwashita Hisao is giving me?”
The final answer was “yes.”
So, one of these two Grandmasters must be Miao Shihe.
But as to which one specifically, Vincent was uncertain.
“Ah well, I can just look for them one by one. Conveniently, one of them is on this very Ofunato Island that I’m on. I might as well go investigate.”
“But is that too risky?”
After thinking about it, Vincent decided to go anyway.
Firstly, he has the Mimicry skill to change his appearance, so there’s a high chance the other party will not be able to see through him.
Secondly, Vincent doesn’t plan to directly confront the other party. The other party’s a Grandmaster, a high-level one to boot, and Vincent just reached the Master Level. There’s no way he can win. He just wants to figure out the other party’s location and avoid revealing himself, otherwise, he wouldn’t even know how he died.
As long as he knows the other party’s location, the rest will be easy to handle. Whether it’s bringing in reinforcements or letting someone else do the dirty work, there’s room to maneuver.
Thirdly, there is only a fifty-fifty chance that the Grandmaster on Ofunato
Island is Miao Shihe, and Vincent is quite confident about his luck
However, he is yet to determine if running into Miao Shihe is considered good luck or if not running into him is.
Last but not least, Fox Cub’s Doppelgänger has made progress in the simulation over the past three days. During those three days, its skill proficiency shot up rapidly. Aside from Sun Flame, which has only improved to the Proficient Stage, all other high-level and intermediate skills have advanced to Mastery Stage.
So, Vincent has benefitted too. Fox Cub’s Doppelgänger, Three-tailed Power, Misfortune Entanglement, Light Power, he has learned all these skills and is able to use them now.
Other skills aren’t really worth mentioning, they’re pretty much standard. But there’s one skill in particular that Vincent considers incredibly useful.
That is, the Clone skill.
At the entry-level, the Clone is just a laggy phantom, basically useless.
However, when it reaches the Proficient Stage, the Clone gets a physical form and is no longer laggy. Although it still has some hiccups, it’s not a big deal. The only problem is that it’s extremely fragile, basically shattering on contact, and it can’t talk.
But at the Mastery Stage, the amazing aspect of the Clone comes into play.
At this stage, the Clone can talk, eat, and perform other actions as controlled by the original body. It’s an incredibly convincing replica.
If there’s any downside, it’s pretty obvious: the Clone can’t cast skills. It can
only serve as a decoy..
