Chapter 90: Should I consider changing Xi Xi’s career
Chapter 90
Nameless mustered his strength and broke free from the restraints of the Ghost Sealing Talisman, stepping back to avoid the Heavenly Thunder attack.
He looked at Jian Xi in astonishment. To be able to summon Heavenly Thunder, this little wench's power had grown to such an extent in just a few short years. It seemed he had underestimated her.
Nameless retreated two more steps, his Demonic Aura surging around him as he launched an attack straight at Jian Xi.
Jian Xi met his attack with her sword. In the midst of their battle, she summoned another Heavenly Thunder, which Nameless couldn't avoid this time, taking a direct hit.
Seeing that half of his Demonic Aura had dissipated, Nameless glared fiercely at Jian Xi, "You little wench, you're asking for it!"
Beads of sweat formed on Jian Xi's brow, but her aura remained undimmed. She unleashed ten talismans, forming a trap around Nameless. If she hadn't lost that thirty percent of her cultivation, taking him down today would have been a breeze. But now it seemed she could only severely wound him and send him to the underworld.
Seemingly realizing her intent, Nameless took to the air, rapidly retreating backwards. But Jian Xi wouldn't let him escape. With a light tap of her toes, she leapt two meters high, pinning him down with her Peach Wood Sword at his shoulder.
Nameless' pupils shrank as he struggled to break free from Jian Xi's restraint, but to no avail. Her strength, combined with the power of her magical weapon, was too much for him to overcome!
Jian Xi murmured an incantation, and the trap formation closed in. Her complexion paled slightly, and she couldn't help cursing Feng Old Lady in her heart, complaining that she sure knew how to pick her timing.
Without delay, Jian Xi proceeded to summon the White Envoy of the Underworld through the Ghost Gate.
"You little wench, you just wait, if I manage to escape again... Mmph!"
A Silence Talisman flew out, "Shut up, you're making too much noise!"
He Qingchen arrived at Jian Xi's side, giving her a once-over before letting out a sigh of relief, "Tired?"
Jian Xi nodded weakly, "Tired."
He bent down to scoop her into his arms, and Jian Xi didn't refuse, nestling against He Qingchen's embrace.
When Xie BiAn emerged from the Ghost Gate, he caught sight of this scene and remarked with a chuckle, "Tsk tsk~ Jian Xi, you're all grown up now, and you still let that boy carry you? Don't you know any shame?"
Too drained to speak, Jian Xi simply pointed towards the restrained Nameless in the distance.
Xie BiAn looked at Nameless in surprise, "Well done, Jian Xi! Your skills must have surpassed your master's by several times over if you could battle the Ghost King and subdue him even after losing thirty percent of your cultivation!"
"Heh, if I hadn't lost that thirty percent, I could have destroyed him outright," Jian Xi said weakly.
Xie BiAn gave her a thumbs-up.
At this point, He Qingchen spoke up, "Brother Xie, this Nameless came to take revenge on Xiao Xi, doesn't that mean your underworld management is lacking? If ghosts can escape and seek revenge on Metaphysics Masters like this in the future, should I consider having Xiao Xi change professions?"
Jian Xi wanted to say that this was a minor incident, but before she could speak, He Qingchen gave her a playful swat on the rear, signaling her to stay quiet.
So she nestled back against He Qingchen's shoulder, silently listening to their conversation.
Knowing that this oversight was indeed their fault, Xie BiAn was momentarily at a loss for words.
Seeing this, He Qingchen raised an eyebrow and nodded towards the wrecked Rolls-Royce, "Look, there's also damage to my property. I wonder if all of this would be enough to file an 'official complaint' upstairs?"
Xie BiAn's lips twitched. This sly little rascal, all this just because he was displeased about Jian Xi being struck those three times!
He reached out and tapped Jian Xi's brow three times.
Jian Xi, who had looked pale moments ago, instantly regained her rosy complexion. Not only had her thirty percent cultivation returned, but she had even gained a bit more.
She blinked at He Qingchen, then turned to the scowling Xie BiAn and said, "Thank you, Brother Xie!"
He Qingchen curved his lips, having achieved his goal, and said no more.
Suddenly, a car pulled up nearby with a creak.
Ye Ze got out from the passenger side and hurried over, "The ghost? Huh? Brother Xie? What's with that sour look, who got you riled up?"
Xie BiAn: "......" These people from the Celestial Observation really knew how to get under one's skin!
Ignoring Ye Ze, he bound Nameless with a Soul-Locking Chain and dragged him through the Ghost Gate.
With a loud bang, the Ghost Gate slammed shut, causing the surrounding air to tremble.
Inside the Ghost Gate, Xie BiAn eyed Nameless with malice. It wasn't that he was upset about restoring Jian Xi's cultivation; in fact, he was quite happy to do so. But being forced to do it was a different feeling from doing it willingly!
It just... irked him somehow.
And since he was irked, this scoundrel would bear the brunt of it.
Nameless now deeply regretted his rash decision to seek revenge on that little wench after finally escaping from the underworld. How could he have known that in just a few short years, that little wench would have grown so powerful? Had he known, he certainly wouldn't have carelessly gone after her. He wasn't stupid, and now he was utterly doomed!
Xie BiAn grabbed Nameless by the collar and flashed to the first level of the Eighteenth Layer of Hell. He tossed Nameless inside and instructed the Underworld Messenger on guard, "Let him spend a hundred years in each level."
"Understood."

Ye Ze gave He Qingchen and Jian Xi a puzzled look.
"Xiao Xi is tired, I'll take her home first. Wait here for the ambulance and send the driver to the hospital. Good work." He Qingchen shamelessly ordered Ye Ze around, then carried Jian Xi off to Ye Ze's car.
The car drove away from Ye Ze's sight. He turned to look at the driver in the wrecked Rolls-Royce and the mangled front of the car, a hint of smugness flickering across his face.
His little junior sister was really impressive, able to handle a Ghost King-level opponent all by herself now. If it were him, he'd probably have lost more than just a layer of skin.
The only thing he couldn't figure out was why Brother Xie had looked so grim when Jian Xi had captured the Ghost King.
No matter how much he thought about it, he couldn't understand, so he eventually gave up. Conveniently, the ambulance had arrived, and he hopped in alongside them.
Since they weren't too far from home, although exhausted, Jian Xi stayed awake until they reached their house before going to sleep.
He Qingchen sent a message to Xu Yan, asking him to handle the remaining matters tomorrow, then washed up and went to bed as well.
Jian Xi slept until the afternoon of the next day, understandably so after yesterday's exertion.
She reached for her phone and saw several missed calls, one from each person. They all knew that if she didn't answer, she was probably still asleep, so they left unread messages telling her to let them know when she woke up.
Jian Xi sent them each a message, letting them know she was fine and not to worry.
