Chapter 57
Chapter 57
On the other side, Song Luokui politely entertained Charlie, the duke\'s son from Country A, until the music ended. Charlie even kissed the back of Song Luokui\'s hand, saying, "You\'re truly beautiful. When you visit Y Country next time, you can find me."
Song Luokui curtsied like a lady, then hurried to the other side. She was about to go to the restroom when a hand reached out from behind a pillar and pulled her into a corner.
Song Luokui: ?
Chi Yu pulled her in front of him. "Why are you here?"
Song Luokui shrugged. "...Didn\'t you see? I\'m accompanying someone. What about you? How did you end up here?"
Chi Yu took out a handkerchief as he replied, "I\'m a business representative, um... also accompanying someone." Then he took Song Luokui\'s hand and wiped the back of it with the handkerchief.
Song Luokui tried to pull her hand away. "??? What are you doing?"
Chi Yu held her hand tightly, not letting her pull it away. "Helping you clean off the germs."
Song Luokui suddenly remembered Charlie kissing the back of her hand earlier. "You..."
Chi Yu finished wiping her hand and let go of it. "Me what?"
Song Luokui thought back to their previous encounter playing pool and took a step back. "No... nothing, I\'m going to use the restroom." She turned and walked away.
Chi Yu leaned against the pillar, watching her leave.
However, when Song Luokui came out of the restroom, she saw Chi Yu leaning against the wall nearby. Her expression immediately became strange. "What are you doing standing by the restroom?"
Chi Yu extended his hand to her. "I want to invite you to dance."
Song Luokui\'s expression was indescribable. "..." Why didn\'t he wait to invite her after she returned to the main hall? What\'s the point of inviting her right outside the restroom? So, Song Luokui refused.
Song Luokui walked around him, and Chi Yu followed her without getting angry.
When Song Luokui returned to the main hall, she saw Han Zhengjun approaching her, clearly intending to ask her to dance. Did he forget about yesterday\'s incident?
"Kui, may I..."
Song Luokui smiled, turned, and took Chi Yu\'s arm. "Sorry, I already have a dance partner."
Chi Yu looked down at the hand on his arm, then at Song Luokui as she winked at him. He wrapped his arm around her slim waist and led her to the dance floor.
As for Han Zhengjun, Chi Yu didn\'t even spare him a glance.
It happened to be a slow dance, but Song Luokui felt a bit awkward. After all, she had just refused someone, then immediately contradicted herself. "Haha, thank you."
Chi Yu: "Just remember to treat me to a meal."
Song Luokui: "...Sure, sure."
Chi Yu reminded her, "You still owe me from last time."
Song Luokui: "I\'ll treat you this week. Let me know when you\'re free and what you want to eat."
Chi Yu pondered for a moment. "I want to try something different."
"Hmm? If not Chinese cuisine, I\'m open to other options."
"Accompany me to a private banquet?"
Song Luokui immediately refused, "No way."
Chi Yu knew she would say that. "Your brother won\'t find out."
Song Luokui shook her head again. "Still no." Then, realizing she still owed him a meal, she didn\'t want to outright refuse. "I can treat you to another meal instead."
Chi Yu raised an eyebrow. "I don\'t need another meal."
Song Luokui pondered for a moment. "Then I can give you a gift? Or is there something you want?" She looked up at him.
Chi Yu suddenly said, "Bring me a meal."
Song Luokui: "What...?"
Chi Yu: "Deliver a meal to me at the office."
Song Luokui was stunned. "Huh?"
Just then, the music ended, and the two walked to the side. Sheng Rong happened to pass by, and Chi Yu greeted her, "Auntie Sheng."
Song Luokui immediately kept her distance from Chi Yu and walked to Sheng Rong\'s side. "Mom."
Sheng Rong nodded at Chi Yu. "Don\'t forget to thank Little Yu for last time. Come to my house for a meal when you\'re free, Auntie will treat you."
Chi Yu: "No need to be polite, Auntie Sheng. It was something I should have done."
Sheng Rong smiled at him. "Should have?"
Chi Yu suddenly felt a little embarrassed and didn\'t say anything else.
Sheng Rong didn\'t ask further. She patted Song Luokui\'s hand. "Have fun. When it\'s over, let Uncle Kang send you home first. I still have some things to take care of, so I\'ll stay a bit longer."
"Okay."
Sheng Rong said to Chi Yu, "Little Yu, please take care of Kui Kui."
Chi Yu nodded. "Sure."
Sheng Rong soon left. Song Luokui felt a bit tired and moved her feet. The heels she wore tonight were a bit too high, and she had been standing for a while. Out of the corner of her eye, she suddenly saw Han Zhengjun approaching again. Song Luokui immediately grabbed Chi Yu\'s sleeve. "Let\'s go, quickly."
Chi Yu turned and understood immediately. He wrapped his arm around Song Luokui\'s waist, lifted her up, and in a few strides, entered a lounge and set her down.
Song Luokui: ...What just happened? He lifted her up entirely!!!
Song Luokui looked at Chi Yu with some embarrassment and indignation. Chi Yu clicked the door shut.
"Why did you close the door? And earlier..."
Chi Yu: "Didn\'t you not want to see that guy from Country H? Besides, your feet must be tired."
Song Luokui: "But you didn\'t have to close the door." With just the two of them in a lounge, it felt a bit strange. As she spoke, she walked to the couch and sat down. The high heels she wore today were really too high, and her calves were truly tired.
Chi Yu poured her a glass of water from the side. "If I didn\'t close the door, you wanted that guy from Country H to come in?"
Song Luokui: "...Alright, fine."
After taking a sip of water, she felt the atmosphere had become a bit awkward and silent. Song Luokui felt a little uncomfortable, so she continued drinking water, glancing at Chi Yu before looking away.
Chi Yu sat down beside her. "As for that person earlier, you don\'t need to pay him any mind. His true identity is actually just a illegitimate son."
Song Luokui turned to look at him, her eyes lighting up. "You even know this kind of gossip?"
Chi Yu smiled faintly at her reaction. "Yeah, his family in Country H..." Then Chi Yu told her the gossip about Han Zhengjun.
After learning that he was an illegitimate son and that his mother had used unscrupulous means and all sorts of other details, Song Luokui wore an expression of disdain. "No wonder he has no culture or class. He even said our chopsticks were copied from his country. I don\'t know why he was allowed to come to our country for an exchange program."
Chi Yu didn\'t know about this and frowned slightly. "You don\'t need to pay him any mind."
Song Luokui agreed, "You\'re right."
Once the topic opened up, the two quickly became familiar and communicated fluently, moving from gossip and complaints to Chi Yu telling her gossip about the arriving dignitaries, then to the international situation and the global economy.
For the first time, Song Luokui had a direct observation of just how knowledgeable Chi Yu truly was.
