Chapter 93 New Team
She chuckled lightly before replying. "I already have three Elementalists in my team, including myself. All I need is two more people for it to be complete."
Harry\'s brows were still raised in confusion even after he heard her words. He still didn\'t understand her exact reasons for wanting him in her team.
While he could be considered quite talented as an Elementalist, he was also quite inexperienced if one looked at the fact that he only recently became an Elementalist.
"I don\'t see any reason to pick someone else, I don\'t need the third and fourth year Elementalists since they are more or less the same." Susan said.
The last thing she had expected before calling for this student was that she would be asked to explain her reasons.
Though she wasn\'t obligated to answer his questions, she still did. Mainly because she felt like she should, however she wasn\'t annoyed or anything.
If anything, it only made her slightly curious about this particular student. \'Maybe he won\'t be a complete drag.\' Susan mumbled inwardly.
"Just like I said earlier, my team only needs few more members, I want you to be a part of my team." She said. "I already have all the members I need, I only need two more to meet the team requirements."
"You\'re quite talented on your own, so you\'ll definitely be a good addition." Susan continued.
Harry nodded his head slightly in understanding.
He was a little taken aback by her bluntness, but he was mad or anything. He even understood her words in a way.
Compared to her who was an elite student and also a stage three Elementalist, most students in the academy were only peak stage one Elementalists.
In fact, it was safe to say that there were only stage two Elementalists among the elite students--which meant the total number of students at the second mana core stage in the academy didn\'t number up to thirty.
So the overall strength of most of the students were more or less the same.
She had already chosen those she needed, and he was just there to fill out the numbers.
While it hurt his pride a little that he was simply an extra addition, he didn\'t think it was a bad offer.
All the Elementalists in the academy were automatically registered in the event, the only time a person needed to visit an instructor was if they didn\'t want to take part--there were a few who didn\'t take part every year and chose to remain "unranked".
Participating in the competition wasn\'t by force and a student could opt out.
However, Harry had no plan on opting out. This was a chance to develop himself even more; there was no way he\'d miss it.
His chances in the competition would definitely be boosted if he teamed up with the rank one student.
He hadn\'t expected that someone--and not just anyone, but Susan grey--would actually want him on their team.
Most of the first and second years chose to not take part in the event.
Since they were only \'rookies\' with very low mana in their mana core, they didn\'t think they had a chance in a competition that involved all the academy Elementalists.
The few that summoned the courage were always placed in a randomly selected group, mainly because no one wanted to team up with a fresher.
Even the first and second years didn\'t want to form teams with themselves, to boost their chances, they\'d rather join a team filled with third to sixth year Elementalists.
Harry had also expected himself to be among those that would be randomly placed in a \'group\'.
However, now that the chance came for him to be in a better team, there was no way he would let up on the chance.
Noticing Harry hadn\'t replied her, Susan decided to speak herself. "So... do you agree?" She asked while raising one of her brows slightly.
"Huh?" Harry muttered, realising that he had gotten lost in his thoughts once more.
His eyes moved to the beautiful blonde haired girl in front of him.
Her eyes were shining with expectation for his reply--she really hoped he\'d accept.
"Yes, I\'ll join your team." Harry replied. Considering all he stood to gain from joining her team, he had no reason to refuse.
By joining her team, he was sure he would at least advance to the next round of the ranking competition.
Susan nodded her head slightly when she heard his words.
"That\'s good, are you free now?" She asked. "So I should just register you to the team now?"
Harry racked his brain to see if he had anything to do, except for his training that he still planned on resuming to, he was basically free.
"Yes." He muttered. Though his voice was quite low, it was still loud enough for the blonde haired girl to catch it.
To be honest, he was still surprised at the sudden turn out of things, first, he wasn\'t and now he would suddenly be registering in a team with the rank one student.
Susan nodded her head when she heard Harry\'s words.
She walked past him before gesturing for him to follow her.
Though what she said considering Harry completing her team was correct, she hadn\'t being completely honest either.
She had actually found a fourth member for her team, unfortunately he had no interest of joining.
This desired "fourth member" was unsurprisingly Nathan.
A few days ago, she had offered for him to join her team, however, he turned her offer down.
According to what he told her, he had planned on getting into top 25 and then forming his own team for the competition.
A weird glint flashed through Harry\'s eyes as he watched the back of the girl walking ahead of him.
Though it seemed like he had let his guard down, he hadn\'t. From the moment he stepped into this hallway till now, his guard had been up and he still hadn\'t noticed anything out of the usual.
It seemed like her intentions were truly genuine.
He didn\'t think much again and simply followed behind her, still keeping his guard and focus up.
*****
I\'m sorry that the chapter is shorter today. I\'m very tired and as you can all see, I didn\'t update yesterday. That\'s because I\'m stressed out from having to walk in the sun to buy foodstuffs.
Keep supporting this novel, thanks!
