Chapter 137 Head Of Two Clans

A day before, Goddess Vermeil personally delivered a 24-hour notice to all the heads of families, town and city mayors, and even the palace, inviting them to participate in the appointment of the new Luo family head.

This led the entire country to undergo upheaval.

The Luo are arguably the most powerful of the four ancient clans. And that powerful clan had just switched family heads less than two decades ago. Now, they receive such short notice about having their family head replaced again. Everyone could feel that something was amiss with this arrangement.

On the day of the event, hundreds to thousands of teleportation portals opened up near the entrance of the Luo residence. They were all dressed in fancy clothes, fitting for the large event. However, they all couldn't do anything but wait patiently in front of the sturdy walls blocking them.

The residence was surrounded by a tall red wall, about ten meters high, enclosing the entirety of the clan's grounds. Nobody could teleport directly inside it unless Goddess Vermeil permitted it.

Soon, the front yard of the Luo was teeming with the highest officials in the country. Not to mention town mayors; even the royal family was already there, waiting for the gates to open. The guests were huddled together in smaller groups, discussing with hushed voices the true intentions of the Luo family.

Some speculated that, like the previous head, Lady Luo Meng Yao had fallen ill and didn't have long to live. Some said that Ying Yue usurped her mother's position forcefully. Either way, the nobles with bachelor sons were pretty hyped, hoping that their sons could tie the knot with Ying Yue and hopefully gain the Clan Head position.

The said bachelor sons, ranging from those who just came of age up to those who could already be labeled as old men, were even more excited. Scoring a marriage with such a beautiful maiden as Ying Yue was more than enough reason for them to celebrate.

Soon, the gates opened wide. Other than the tallest and widest main gate, the eight side gates, four on either side of the main gate, opened simultaneously.

The nobles entered through the main gate, one at a time, from the one with the highest standing up to the lowest-ranking ones.

The side gates were used entirely by commoners, whose numbers were dozens, if not hundreds, of times larger than the other group. Although I say commoners, they were basically mercenaries, merchants, and all sorts of bureaucrats who had high standing but no noble title.

After entering the enclosed lands of the Luo Clan, the scenery completely changed. Instead of a small area of about 1 square kilometer, the place turned into an infinitely extending world filled with mysterious creatures and a fantastic atmosphere. Instead of a home, it was an entirely different dimension there.

Accustomed to the place, everyone immediately headed for the tall mountain right before their eyes. This mountain was where the Luo residence was built and where the energy was most dense.I think you should take a look at

A flood of visitors came from nine different directions, as each gate led to a different side of the mountain. For reference, there were a total of 36 different paths leading to the mountain, as there were nine gates on each side of the residence's walls.

They walked a few kilometers down a mountain path before being welcomed by a steep set of stone stairs. If not for the Luo family being an ancient clan full of prestige, then all the nobles there would've stomped away in anger at this point.

After arduously climbing up the mountain, they would end up at the top, where the mountain seemed to have been cut horizontally, leaving a wide flat surface to dwell on. The cross-section of the mountain was wide enough to hold a hundred thousand visitors, not to mention a few thousand.

In the middle of the wide space, a dais could be seen. Behind it, a young man wearing a gallant red dragon robe fitting an emperor stood proudly with his chest held high. His blue hair, which started getting longer, was tied up into a short ponytail and hung behind his head. His gaze was full of dignity as he kept his sight straight ahead without flinching.

Behind the man, three girls stood wearing loose robes, each with a color that matched their hair.

One was wearing a pink-themed robe that matched her pink hair perfectly. She exuded an ephemeral beauty, but her voluptuous chest made her look like a seductress instead. Her every move captivates the eyes of the onlookers.

Another was a dog-eared beauty that exuded a fierce impression. Her black dress and black hair seemed like they would blend into the shadows at any moment, giving her a mysterious and dangerous air. Although this atmosphere was completely destroyed by her fluffy but wildly flailing tail that kept swinging left and right.

The last one was a gallant dragonkin that had blazing red hair. The scales of her long tail matched the color of the man's dragon robes perfectly, as if it were intentional. She wore a red robe that was one tone darker than her scales, but it emphasized her porcelain-like limbs that extended from the sleeves of the robe.

Before the man, three figures stood intimidatingly. Two of them wore the traditional clothes of the respective family heads of the Luo and Seimei, while the one in the center was the famous God-tamer Vermeil Raven in her usual cowgirl attire.

The two, who seemed to be the current family heads, scanned the faces of everyone around. After determining that all of the invited guests had gathered, they took a deep breath and started speaking in sync.

""Everyone! Today, we are here to watch over the coronation of the new family head of the Luo family! He is the son of the previous family head, Luo Meng Ruo, and one who possessed the believed-to-be lost true bloodline of the Seimei!""

""Everyone! Let's welcome! Will!""

After this energetic announcement, silence ensued.

Then, as if waking up from a dream, chaos began.
