Chapter 182 - 182: 182: Losing One’s True Heart
Acting squeamish and saying there was little commission would likely upset Suri Drew. Rose could sense that Suri was someone with genuine feelings.
Some people would visit a house dozens of times before buying it, being very picky during the visits. Of course, the reason they were picky was because they wanted to pressure the salesperson and lower the price.
However, Suri Drew and Yigol Novak did not show any dislike during the house visit. Sincere people should also be treated with sincerity.
Suri seemed satisfied with Rose’s response, smiling as she asked, “So what do you want to do with that hundreds of thousands dollars in commission?”
This question stumped Rose. Before, she wouldn’t have imagined selling a top unit like this villa. She would have been content selling an ordinary unit with a commission of tens of thousands dollars.
So, she never thought about what she would do if she had hundreds of thousands dollars.
Rose answered honestly, “I, I didn’t think about that before.”
Suri smiled and said, “Since you didn’t think about it before, you can start thinking about it now. Will you spend all that money on a whim, or will you use it for something else?”
Rose immediately retorted, “No, no, no, I won’t spend it on a whim. I definitely won’t do that.”
This response amused Suri.
“I see you as a very observant girl, and if you are interested in this field, you can develop it well. But, if you want to spend that money on a whim, that’s fine too. It’s your money, and it’s your freedom to spend it however you want.”
“However, both my husband and I hope that you will use this money wisely, instead of losing sight of your goal after buying a house.”
Rose fell into deep thought.
She had never considered having so much income before. Naturally, she didn’t have this kind of dilemma. Her only thought every day was to make money through hard work.
But now, according to Suri’s meaning, the house was practically sold. What would she do with the money? It confused her.
Especially since she didn’t want to disappoint Suri. From Suri’s words, it seemed that Suri had deliberately asked her to accompany their visit for a purpose, not just a whim.
Seeing that Rose remained silent instead of making various promises, Suri’s fondness for the girl increased. She asked, “Rose, do you know why I specifically asked you to show us the house?”
Rose shook her head, “I, I don’t know.”
She guessed that Suri and Yigol did it on purpose, but she couldn’t understand why.
From Yigol’s affection for Suri, it was absolutely impossible that he had fallen for her (Rose).
In the sales department, everyone seemed to get along, but they were all in competition with each other. Her colleagues wouldn’t give her a chance to learn, let alone let her have such a good opportunity.
Rose pondered and shook her head again.
Suri said, “When my husband and I came in, we were surrounded by a group of salespeople. Several male salespeople crowded around me, thinking the real wealthy person was me. As for my husband, only one female salesperson attended to him symbolically, but in fact she blocked him from approaching me and those male salespeople. Probably afraid that he would delay the male salespeople from selling the house to me.”
“They didn’t expect that I would have a connection with my husband.”
“Actually, it doesn’t matter. Everyone sells houses to make money, so they naturally prioritize potential customers who seem more likely to close deals.”
“It was probably close to closing time. Apart from the salespeople who were very attentive to me, everyone else was quite casual. You, on the other hand, were working hard. Although what you did might be insignificant, in my eyes, you were diligent.”
“Doing your job well is a rare quality, regardless of the value of your work. You took it seriously, which is not common among the employees I deal with in my own company. Regardless, I was going to buy a house, and as long as the salespeople sell a house, they get commission. So I thought, I might as well give this money to you.”
“For us, it’s just a matter of spending money, but for you, it could very well change your life. Of course, we hope that the change will be for the better. Do you understand what I mean?”
Rose nodded, “Yes, I’ll think carefully about it. Thank you both for taking care of me.”
Rose was so moved that her eyes reddened.
Suri continued, “So tell us, what are your plans going forward? We’re just chatting, seeing if you’re on the right path. If you’re not, we’d like to give you a heads-up.”
Rose thought for a moment and said, “I will continue working hard here while thinking about what I want to do. I should consider how to successfully accomplish what I want to do, do more research, and see what happens when the commission payment comes. If I haven’t thought it through or haven’t researched enough, I’ll continue working while thinking about it.”
“Once I’ve thought it through, I’ll resign.”
Suri nodded approvingly, “Yes, don’t think that just because you have some money, you can indulge yourself, resign, and start a business haphazardly. If you do that, you’ll most likely fail.”
“You need to think things through slowly, do your research, and work hard during this time. People only gain experience, insights, and opportunities when they take action.”
“However, before you do any of this, shouldn’t you treat your colleagues to a meal? Otherwise, you should be careful about your colleagues giving you a hard time.”
Rose quickly nodded her head, “Okay, thank you for the reminder, sister.”
By the time the group returned, it was already past the sales department’s closing time. But none of the staff had left, as they were all curious to see if this deal would go through.
In many sales departments, even if all the houses were sold, the top units could not be sold. Their property had just opened recently, and they did not expect such a big customer to appear so soon.
By the time the contract was signed, it was already dark outside. Yigol Novak and Suri Drew left the sales department..
