Chapter 193 - 193: 193: The Soul of a Young Girl Lives Deep within
Suri built her business single-handedly from scratch and now, it was not just about the money anymore.
She had a sentimental connection with her company akin to having a pet or raising a child. As time passed, it was harder for her to part ways.
Before leaving, Suri teased Yigol, “Husband, you better stay home and await my return. Behave yourself. If I find out you’ve been hanging out with that little girl, I will…’
Yigol was flustered and amused, “Don’t worry, aside from you, I have no interest in anyone.”
“Later, I’ll go to the supermarket to buy some stuff. Our villa feels too big and empty right now. There’s still a lot of things we’re short of.”
Suri agreed, nodding, “Yeah, especially we are short of a few pretty maids. Let’s check out a maid service agency on our way back. You can pick the ones you like.”
Yigol sighed in resignation, “Honey, why do you keep putting me in these situations? I’ve been behaving myself.”
Yigol’s complaints didn’t matter to Suri at all. She was not seriously arguing with him; she just wanted to tease him.
Sometimes, she felt she was being capricious, often realizing it only after she had acted.
After parting with Suri, Yigol’s first task was to get a license plate for his new car. He wasn’t picky about the plate number – as long as it was easy to read.
By the time he sorted everything out, it was already afternoon.
Afterward, Yigol went to the mall with his to-do list and began to gather all sorts of items for their new villa. Although the furniture was already in place, the house was still lacking a sense of home. It needed more decorative items. Yigol was busy from afternoon till evening until their new house looked almost ready.
It was exhausting. This was probably the most housework Yigol and Suri had done together since being a couple.
Yigol aimed to make their house look like a real home rather than a bland place, empty of life, which felt more like a hotel.
Yigol added a lot of Suri’s favorite items to their new villa. For instance, many things were in shades of pink because Suri had a girlish spirit in her heart that favored such colors.
Initially, Yigol was managing it all alone.
Suri joined him in the housework upon returning from the office.
Although Yigol was already worn out, he was happy being busy. He wanted to wrap things up as quickly as possible.
“Honey, you rest first. When I’m done, I’ll sleep in the guest room, so I won’t disturb you.”
At that moment, Yigol was planting vegetables. He had bought many different types of vegetable seeds, planning to grow them at home. This way, they could have fresh vegetables whenever they wanted. Yigol had purchased all sorts of seeds, ensuring a variety of vegetables for Suri’s meals.
Suri had never planted any vegetables before.
One day, Suri casually mentioned that the vast plot of their villa could be used for vegetable farming. To her surprise, Yigol got started on the project that very day.
Watching Yigol work the field was amusing to Suri. She tried lending a hand but soon realized farming isn’t as easy as she thought.
Consequently, she opted to supervise instead.
Suri pointed to the plowed land, asking, “So this is how we plant vegetables, right? It actually doesn’t seem all that tiring, does it?”
Despite her failed attempt, she found Yigol’s work highly effortless.
Yigol responded, “Well, it’s not too much of a task for a small plot like this. However, doing this kind of work in rural areas where they manage multiple acres of land is really exhausting.”
The ever-curious Suri continued questioning, “Honey, once we’ve planted all these seeds, how long before we can eat them?”
Yigol explained, “Once they are planted and watered, you might see sprouts the day after tomorrow if we’re fast. As for eating, it depends on the type of vegetable. Some could take about a month while others might need more time. Some vegetables taste better when young whereas others are better when fully mature, which alters the harvesting time.”
Suri excitedly replied, “Wow, I’ll check on these plants every morning to see how they sprout and grow. I’ve never seen how grains grow.”
Yigol smiled affectionately, “You’ll see it eventually, but for now, you should really go rest.”
Suri shook her head, “No, I want to stay with you. I’ll wait for you.”
Yigol responded, “Honey, your presence here actually interrupts my work. Better get some rest.”
Suddenly, Suri was not so happy, “What do you mean? Do you not want to see me? How am I disturbing your work?”
Yigol quickly explained, “Honey, don’t talk like that. Am I that kind of person? The reason I can’t concentrate on my job is because of you standing here – a beautiful woman, taking my breath away.”
Then Suri was not as upset, “Humph, I’m angry now, so angry that you can’t appease me.”
“Honey, are you…
But before Yigol could finish, Suri interrupted, “Shut up! If you keep blabbering, I’ll really get mad.”
Yigol chuckled and obediently kept quiet.
It’s hard to say when, but teasing Suri had become a kind of relaxation for Yigol.
Thus, the couple relentlessly teased each other. Suddenly, Suri asked, “My mom inquired if you intend to have children before our wedding? Would you prefer to use our children to win my parents over?”
“Huh?” Yigol was astonished by Suri’s sudden query.
They were now husband and wife in name only, and Yigol’s first reaction waswas this woman hinting at something?
Suri clarified, “I mean, if we were to have children, we would need to inform our parents after the baby is born, right? Or should we tell them after we conceive? Or would you rather wait till our child is in kindergarten or primary school?”
