Chapter 229 - 229: 229: Bringing a Woman Home?
Otherwise, facing such a rigid robot every day could drive one mad, right?
Yigol had gotten up too early. He had bought groceries and returned home with the robot, but Suri Drew hadn’t woken up yet.
Suri had already handed over the company to Rose Campbell to handle. She didn’t have much to do and was getting increasingly indulgent. Her theory was that more sleep leads to beauty and youth retention.
Extra sleep would slow down the aging process.
Yigol didn’t understand this bizarre theory, but Suri seemed to enjoy it.
Yigol took the robot to the kitchen and taught it how to cook. It already knew how to cook, but compared to his culinary skills, it still had a long way to go. Moreover, the robot didn’t understand Suri’s lifestyle habits, and he needed to teach it.
However, the robot was impressive; it got hold of everything in just one go.
If there were an exam, it could easily score a perfect hundred.
The robot had no innovative capabilities, only the ability to learn. But that was enough. For what it didn’t know, Yigol could teach it.
Given time, the robot could completely handle all their domestic affairs.
Importantly, the robot wouldn’t get tired; it could provide services at any time— a very nice feature.
While Yigol and the robot were busy in the kitchen, Suri woke up.
As usual, she came out in a sexy nightgown.
There was no longer any shyness in front of Yigol, so she just came out like that.
When she saw Yigol and a woman busy in the kitchen, Suri was stunned.
The woman had an excellent figure and was very close to Yigol, giving an intimate and well-matched vibe.
Suri was dumbfounded and didn’t know what to think.
“Honey, you’re awake, come here, let’s kiss.” Seeing Suri wake up, Yigol subconsciously went over to her.
He had developed this habit as they did this every day,
Suri dodged Yigol and asked sternly: “Who is this woman and why is she in our house?”
Suri seriously doubted whether she was dreaming. To her surprise, Yigol brought a woman home while she was asleep?
How audacious of him?
This was a significant shock. Rather than crying or making a scene, Suri kept a cold face, expecting Yigol to explain.
She had even decided, if Yigol didn’t give her a satisfying answer, she would disappear immediately.
At this moment, the housekeeper robot turned around, neatly walked to Suri, bowed and said, “Mrs. Novak, hello, I am Penny, your and Mr. Novak’s housekeeper.”
Suri was stunned. This meek-looking woman was brought in by Yigol as a housekeeper?
“Housekeeper?”
The robot replied, “Yes, Mrs. Novak, starting from today, I will handle all household affairs, whether it’s cleaning, cooking, or various types of massage, I can do all of it. If we have guests, I will take care of them.”
“Simultaneously, I am proficient in various languages. So, no matter what type of guest we have, I can manage. Also, if you are not at home, and if Mr. Novak has physiological needs, Penny could help solve them.”
Suri was stunned. Astonished, she looked at Penny, who had a grave expression on. Turning to Yigol, she asked, “Solve physiological needs?” If looks could kill, Yigol would have been dead by now.
Just then, the robot spoke again: “Detected a threat to the master, but it’s a marital conflict, no need to activate defensive functions. However, based on psychological analysis, if the problem isn’t addressed well, it could intensify the conflict between Mr. Novak and Mrs. Novak. Mrs. Novak is very likely to harm Mr. Novak.”
“If any violent acts occur, Penny will activate defensive functions immediately to protect the master’s safety.”
Yigol quickly said, “Darling, darling, calm down, you heard what she said, actually, it’s not entirely my fault. Let me explain first.”
“Think about it, if I had intentions for her, why would I bring her home, make you angry, and get reprimanded? Calm down, what if you overreact and she activates her defensive functions, what if you get hurt?”
“What defensive functions, what is all this nonsense?” Suri was taken aback. Was this a real woman? Why was she so stern and cold?
So, was she still half-asleep?
But, it felt as if she was fully awake. Dreams couldn’t be so realistic, could they?
“Wifey, here’s the story…” Yigol started organizing his words.
Yigol was amused yet helpless; the robot could even solve that kind of ‘need’, something he wasn’t aware of earlier.
If it weren’t a robot, Yigol would definitely suspect that it was deliberately trying to ruin their marriage.
Before Yigol could finish his explanation, Suri exploded again: “Explain to me, where did this woman come from? You two seemed pretty intimate just now. I suspect you two are the true lovers, and I’m the outsider.”
Yigol helplessly replied, “Honey, actually, she is not human.”
Suri retorted, “Not only is she not human, but you are also not human, both of you are dogs.”
Yigol was helpless, Suri seemed to believe that he was lying.
Yigol pointed at Penny: “Penny, quickly explain to Mrs. Novak what’s going on.”
The robot respectfully replied, “Yes, Mr. Novak.”
Penny raised her head, looking indifferently at Suri. In Suri’s eyes, her expression was outright provocative.
Just a second before Suri was about to burst out again, Penny spoke: “Mrs. Novak, hello, I am Penny, a name given by Mr. Novak. I am an intelligent housekeeping robot. I have a relevant ID card and other certificates, so in some sense, I am also a human. However, my existence only serves the master.” Suri listened with an expression of disbelief.
She felt that the woman in front of her was intentionally conspiring with Yigol to fool her.
Although she didn’t understand much about robots, such a situation seemed to happen only in movies. It was unlikely in real life.
Even if there were robots, they wouldn’t resemble humans so closely.
Not just the appearance, even the intelligence wouldn’t be so advanced. The current level of robots was still at a stage where they frequently didn’t understand human instructions.
Therefore, Suri was entirely unconvinced by this explanation..
