Chapter 381: 381: Feeling a Bit Relieved
“What? Say that again?”
The gang leader spoke with a serious expression on his face.
The group of underlings beside him looked somewhat panicked, glancing at each other. After a while, they finally squeezed out a few words through gritted teeth.
“We’ve searched the whole place several times, but we still haven’t found any trace of them.”
“What about surveillance? Have you checked the surveillance footage?”
The leader was naturally furious when he heard their response. He didn’t keep so many people around just for them to do nothing.
And besides, how could two living, breathing people just disappear into thin air? No matter what, he would not give up on finding them.
But the underlings just shook their heads helplessly and shrugged, speaking up again.
“There are no surveillance cameras in the emergency exits. We have no idea where they’ve gone.”
“Hurry up and find them! If you can’t, you’ll all be sorry!”
The leader was clearly enraged. He did not believe that two living people could just vanish without a trace. It must be because these underlings hadn’t put enough effort into looking for them.
But the underlings also looked quite helpless. They had genuinely done their best to search, but what could they do if they hadn’t found them?
They had clearly heard the footsteps of Yigol and Suri, but somehow, their targets had vanished. The situation seemed strange to them, and for a moment, they couldn’t make sense of it.
Where could they possibly start searching now?
But since their boss had already spoken, they couldn’t just stand around doing nothing. They had no choice but to search the area once more, from top to bottom.
Fortunately, they were quick to react and managed to extinguish the fire earlier. Otherwise, the situation could have become much worse.
The two men in black finally took off their coats and changed into their usual clothes. Sitting in a room, they contemplated the situation and began to speak.
“How could those two just vanish like that?”
“Yeah, it’s strange. They should’ve been closely followed all this time. How could they suddenly disappear?”
“And besides, we’re controlling the entire hotel right now. If they were really gone, we should be able to see them. There’s no way they could escape the hotel.”
Both men found the situation difficult to understand, and they had no idea why any of this was happening.
Little did they know that the people they were searching for were hiding in the safest place possible, where they would never be able to find them.
At this moment, Suri and Yigol had also become used to their current surroundings.
At first, they were very uncomfortable because they had never been to a place like this before and didn’t know what kind of area they were in. But now, they were gradually getting used to it.
After all, they now had a rough understanding of the place they were in and the identity of the person who was with them. They knew what this person had done in the past, and they considered themselves as being in the same boat. Thus, they didn’t have much to worry about at this point.
However, they didn’t want to stay here indefinitely.
If they were going to be stuck here for a while, they didn’t know how long it would take.
A look of seriousness crossed Yigol’s face as he sighed and said, “I really don’t want to stay here.”
Suri, who was next to him, nodded without hesitation and agreed, saying, “Yeah, me too. But if the hotel is really under their control now, we can’t leave easily.”
Price, who was nearby, seemed not to worry at all.
“Don’t worry, we have plenty of food and drink to last us for a while. Don’t be anxious; we’ll have the opportunity to get out of here eventually. For now, we just have to stay put so we won’t be discovered by them.”
It was fortunate that they had chosen the emergency exits when they were on Amazon because had they picked another location, there might have been surveillance cameras. In that case, they wouldn’t have been able to find such a safe hiding spot.
Luckily, there were no cameras in their current location, so their pursuers had no idea where they were hiding.
At this moment, Suri seemed to have an idea, and a glimmer of light shone in her eyes. She began to speak to Yigol and Price.
“You both need not worry too much. Before I left the bedroom, I used a marker to write ‘help’ on the window. I believe passersby outside will notice it, even if just a few.”
No one had expected that she thought of this.
How could they not be happy about this?
After all, if the hotel had been under the enemy’s control from the start, there would have been no way to get any information out.
Moreover, since they didn’t have any means of communication, they couldn’t send any messages to the outside world.
But if Suri had indeed done this, they wouldn’t have much to worry about. They believed people passing by would see the message and sense that something was wrong with the hotel. Then, they could get timely assistance.
Yigol gave Suri a thumbs-up and praised her, saying, “You truly are my wife, thinking of all this.”
Price, who was nearby, was also amazed.
This relieved the anxiety in his heart to some extent.
He then couldn’t help but say, “You both are indeed quite capable.”
With this in mind, he was confident that when they eventually left the hotel, they would be able to accomplish what he had entrusted them with. Thus, he had no reason to worry.
After all, a single person might not have been able to achieve everything.
But if the two of them worked together, they believed everything would gradually improve.
The atmosphere among them shifted slightly at that moment.
Initially, they had all been filled with worry and anxiety. But now, those feelings seemed to have lessened somewhat.
