Chapter 440: 440: A Blank Page
“It’s nothing, really. Don’t keep praising me. I’m just happy to help everyone.”
After that, they couldn’t possibly keep wasting time here, so they immediately entered the room.
Only when they got closer did they realize that this room was arranged similarly to the one they had just left.
They hadn’t expected that.
Suri Drew was also a bit surprised, saying,
“I didn’t expect these two rooms to look so similar.”
The others nodded in agreement, having noticed too.
As Yigol Novak quickly made his way to the window once again, he found the same thing — complete darkness, with nothing visible but blackness.
“It seems this room is quite similar.”
Everyone saw this as well.
That’s why their gazes were focused on that area.
“Let’s search the room following the same routine, maybe we’ll really find something,” Suri suggested.
As soon as she said this, everyone nodded without hesitation, knowing exactly what they should do under such circumstances.
So everyone began earnestly searching the room, hoping to find something useful.
Regardless, they all acted very carefully and thoroughly, eager to leave this place more quickly.
They had been here for far too long. If given the chance, they would definitely not hesitate to leave.
But right now, there was no such opportunity – they could only rely on their own efforts.
After searching for a while, they finally found some food.
Luke excitedly pulled some food from a hidden drawer and spoke to the group,
“Great, we have more food!”
Upon hearing this, everyone looked in his direction and saw that the food was indeed similar to what they had found earlier.
The same small bread and bottled water, and all past the expiration date.
However, having something was better than nothing, so they put it all in their backpacks, hoping it would come in handy later.
Soon afterward, Yigol found another envelope just like the one from the other room.
He furrowed his brow and began to speak,
“I found another envelope, similar to the one in that room. I’ve already opened it, and it’s just another blank piece of paper with nothing on it.”
Upon hearing this, everyone glanced at the envelope and saw that it was indeed just as he said.
Frankly, they didn’t know what was going on. Why were the objects and arrangements in these two rooms so similar?
However, something must be written on the pages, right?
For some reason, Yigol felt that they had missed crucial information last time and couldn’t afford to do so again.
So he brought the letter in front of everyone and spoke seriously,
“I have a feeling that there’s something written on these papers, but we just can’t see it with our naked eyes.”
Upon hearing this, everyone stopped searching and looked at the letter in his hand, finding that it was indeed similar to the one they’d seen earlier.
But was it really as he’d said?
Everyone looked conflicted and puzzled as to why he would have such a strange intuition.
And right now, they really wanted to figure this out.
However, if there really was something on the letter that they couldn’t see, then they could only let it go.
After thinking carefully for a moment, Price finally spoke up and asked Yigol,
“Let me take a look.”
Hearing this, Yigol didn’t hesitate to hand over the letter.
He’d studied it for quite a while but hadn’t found anything. If Price discovered something crucial at this point, it would be good news.
“You take a look quickly, maybe you can find something.”
Upon hearing this, Price’s expression became slightly more serious.
He knew how important this was. If he could decipher the message within, they might obtain more crucial clues.
However, if he couldn’t crack it, he truly would be out of ideas.
After all, it wasn’t something that could be solved with brute force alone.
Thoughtful consideration was required.
Seeing that everyone was crowding around him, Price finally said to the group,
“You don’t have to stick by my side. Go look for other things in the room first.”
Hearing this, everyone finally realized and nodded, resuming their search.
That’s right, they couldn’t waste any more time.
They had to carefully check whether there was anything nearby.
If they could find something, that would be great. But if they couldn’t, they simply couldn’t give up.
At this point, Price began studying the letter in earnest.
He had been a journalist in the past and had seen a great many things, having a rough understanding of a wide range of topics.
As everyone searched, he studied the letter carefully. Was there any way to decipher it? Had they overlooked something?
But after searching for a while, he found nothing.
He had tried every method he could think of, but none seemed to work.
All he held in his hands now was a blank piece of paper with nothing else on it.
So, at that moment, he could only shake his head helplessly.
“It seems there’s really nothing here. It’s probably just our imagination.”
Hearing this, everyone’s eyes focused on him.
Naturally, Yigol felt frustrated.
He had a nagging feeling that something was off, but since Luke couldn’t find anything and neither could he, they couldn’t waste any more time on this matter.
