Chapter 74
During this entire time, Xie Xinglin had been following behind her.
Su Qiuge didn’t have the self-awareness to believe that she was good enough for Xie Xinglin to personally escort her to the subway station.
In her heart, she thought that it was probably on his way.
When the two were silent on the road, they could only listen to the slight movements of the night wind as it passed through the alley.
She felt that the surrounding environment was so dark and it was a little scary, so she wanted to liven up the atmosphere and distract herself by talking about something.
But she suddenly realized that there wasn’t anything to talk about between the two of them.
Well, might as well not talk and focus on walking instead.
Halfway through, Su Qiuge suddenly seemed to hear a sound. It was too abrupt in such a quiet alleyway, so much so that it almost felt like the ground shook.
Su Qiuge turned her head and immediately saw a dazzling white light from behind.
She quickly closed her eyes.
When she reacted, she realized it was the sound of a motorcycle engine.
Three motorcycles drove over from the end of the alleyway. Their front lights pierced into her eyes, it was as though she was looking at an excessively bright sky and it made her head dizzy.
Before she could move, Xie Xinglin suddenly pulled her in and covered her body with his right arm. In nearly the next second, the motorcycles rushed toward them.
Xie Xinglin’s right arm was hit and Su Qiuge heard him let out a soft groan.
Su Qiuge glanced sideways and recognized the person on the motorcycle as the one who was unsuccessful in trying to get her to drink alcohol earlier at the bar.
Sounds of laughter floated over from the dazzling light source.
“What, weren’t you pretty awesome in the bar earlier? Why are you hiding now after seeing us?”
“Little white face, don’t run. If you kneel down and beg this grandpa, I might just let you go.”
Xie Xinglin raised his eyes and glanced at him without a change in his expression. He didn’t respond as if he hadn’t heard the taunting words from those people behind him.
He pulled Su Qiuge and ran into the alley.
He seemed to be very familiar with this route as he never hesitated to make a choice when he ran into a corner. They quickly arrived at the next intersection.
The sound of motorcycle engines and whistling came from behind. It was as if they were playing cat and mouse with them.
Su Qiuge clenched her palms as she tried to think of countermeasures at lightning speed.
When they arrived at the third corner, Xie Xinglin turned again and they passed through a narrow aisle. After they went through it, Su Qiuge discovered that they had already reached a dead end.
Xie Xinglin was not the least bit concerned as he looked around the area. Then he stuffed her under a merchandise rack being held up by wooden planks. He rested his right arm on it as he lowered his eyes at her. He very calmly said, “Stay in there and don’t come out, understand?”
Naturally, Su Qiuge wouldn’t give him any trouble right now. She promptly nodded.
It didn’t take long before Su Qiuge heard curses being transmitted over from afar.
Su Qiuge knew that it was impossible to drive the motorcycles into this alleyway. She vaguely heard someone from outside the area said, “That kid’s pretty familiar with the terrain here, we can’t f*cking drive in.”
“Just leave the motorcycles and go in. Do the three of us still need to be afraid of a little white face and a woman?”
“It just so happens that this lousy area doesn’t have any surveillance nearby. They’re screwed.”
Su Qiuge squatted under the wooden board as her eyes quickly searched the surroundings for anything that could be used as a weapon. She wanted to help Xie Xinglin take one out.
